It was a better day for sure. But mostly because of catching up on sleep.

Maybe you need more sleep..........I'll watch LAST and I see BBMickey is also hanging around....

is that....as in..........like a bad smell???

I slept all day yesterday, so it should be. but i think i'll be calling it a night soon. still recovering from having a cyst removed yesterday.

And I really shouldn't be that flippant.....was it just a sebaceous cyst or was it something more sinister?

mine had a name. Cholesteatoma. it was behind my ear drum, eating away at all the small bones of my inner ear.

Did you go to the bike park?

Not today.

It's a beautiful day in Melbourne....must be high 60's, blue sky and brilliant sunshine. About the only thing that is wrong is that it's a bit windy.

I bribed DS to get on his bike by suggesting that we ride to the local 7-Eleven. It's about 1 mile away. We headed there for a slurpee and then rode back.

I tell you....that boy of mine is such a wimpy kid sometimes. You'd think that there were rocks and nails on his bike seat the way he carried on . Thankfully, the sugar high kicked in on the way home and it was pretty nice riding back.

OUCH!! I know that google is my friend....but is it serious? Getting rid of the cyst....will it still be there and what about your ear/hearing?

From the name, I'm guessing it might be cholesterol clots related?

I want DS to get outside more, it's important since snow will come any day and that ruins most ouside activities. But i think during the summer he got way into TV.

When does your summer break start?

left alone it can destroy your ear completely and eventually threaten with meningitis. Mine was a fairly big one from what the doc says. I must have had it for a while. He says he got it all out, but from what I've read online, once you had one, you are susceptible to getting them again... so I guess that means going for checkups every year and i'll probably have to take extreme measures when I swim/shower to keep water out of my ear.

My hearing out of that ear was pretty bad right before the surgery. I might be lucky to regain some of it now that it was removed and some of my little pieces were replaced. but it is unlikely to be 100%.

We're in spring. Summer starts on 1 Dec and summer break will start the week before Christmas; whichever Friday is closest. The kids don't go back to school til early Feb.

Last away:cool1:

Lasting here too? Welcome!

I did google in between posts.

WOW! DH was recently displaying similar symptoms and completed an MRI. Nothing was detected and we think it might be a virus.

Did you realise you were experiencing hearing loss and the dizziness earlier or was it a sudden onset?

If not 100%, will it be an improvement from where it was before the op?

SNOW already??? It seems like yesterday (or May) when the snow only melted!

I never had the dizziness. The hearing loss I experienced was very gradual and I thought I just had chronic ear infections. About a year ago, I started getting facial twitches, and I thought that was from stress. It went away but came back and got worse. I went to doctor and they found a bad ear infection and thought it might be related. while I was being treated for the infection, the doctor saw something that caused him to send me for a CAT scan. That's how they found the cholesteatoma. So now that's removed and i'll just have to wait and see about whether my hearing improves, or if the facial spasms/twitching finally subside.

Summer always goes fast. You never know but when it snows it gets muddy before everything is frozen and that makes playing in the yard less fun.

Hope things get better for you BBMickey.

Skiiingfast...how iminent is snow? You know that shushh is travelling to your neck of the woods and whilst I know she and her family quite like snow....I don't know if they want to drive in it!

Your first day of summer is when we leave for WDW.:yay:

I am once again stalking the new posts link. It is more fun to have direct interaction at night when the house is talking and everyone else is snoring. DS4 snores like a trucker. The noise carries all the way into my bedroom.

Well....sometimes I'm usually here on this thread. And there might be a couple of us on, so we chat. Jump in anytime. :goodvibes

Insomnia is not fun.
