Someone is sneaking in the back door? Stop, hold it right there. Go back and get your hall pass.:lmao:

As in general employment vacancies?

  1. There is a website...seek.com that most people use.
  2. Then on Saturday, one of the Melbourne newspapers will have an Employment section that advertises positions vacant. I expect that the different city/regional newspapers will have a similar printed section on Saturday; but seek.com will have Australia wide jobs.
  3. There are also 2 Australia wide newspapers - The Australian and The Australian Financial Review. Both of these will have professional and/or managerial positions advertised on the Friday edition.

We also have employment agencies for the professional jobs. Most of the large corporates will use them for the initial vetting of potential candidates. Some of these positions may never be advertised, so you pretty much need to pound the pavement or let your fingers do the walking and call on each and everyone of them as well.

Thank you, he was wondering what his profession makes over there. Love the pics so far. I am dizzy from looking down.

OK, yes RMS = County Fair in the US

BTW, I haven't even looked at all the pictures on that memory stick! :faint: They're great! but there are so many! :rotfl2:

I did ask if you wanted them all....you said yes, my entire set from my time at DLR! And I even culled the ones that had us in them! :lmao:

Holy Moly, it maybe time to pack and move to australia. So many jobs and for both of us. What I use to do you get paid so much more,

Bringing the country to the city folk means livestock. I love animals of all kinds so the RMS is a fantastic way of reminding myself that if life were different, I am NOT cut out to be a farmer. :lmao:

The usual suspects are always around....goats, sheep, alpaca, pigs, cows chickens....There are a number of 'sheds' where the livestock can be found.

The biggest one....

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2245.jpg

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2247.jpg

is for the cows, goats...

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2243.jpg

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2246.jpg

No toddler tiaras in sight....but the intention is the same.

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2248.jpg

There is another shed just for alpaca and chooks...

2011September25RoyalMelbShow172.jpg

We used to have these Bantams in the backyard when I was growing up....

2011September25RoyalMelbShow176.jpg

...and these Silkies.

2011September25RoyalMelbShow174.jpg

The favourite shed with the kids is the animal nursery...it's just a big barn where some of the animals are allowed to just roam through out the barn. Kids and adults allowed to pet them!

And there are always younglings around...the baby was born the day before this picture was taken.

2011September25RoyalMelbShow214.jpg

If you're very lucky, the sheep will pose for you!

Holy Moly, it maybe time to pack and move to australia. So many jobs and for both of us. What I use to do you get paid so much more,

Minimum wage is about $15 - $16; but the cost of living is a whole heap more. What you are looking for in a house.....try paying 10 - 15 times what you've been thinking about. Look up domain.com.

The jobs that he does pays alot better than the min. So would what I do. I saw some on craigslist they were fair not very big but still liveable.

The domestic animals are also there....

DH and I always go look at the cats. I think we may have settled on a breed of cat that we will want for our next animal.....the Bengal. Has a pelt, not fur! Now we just need to agree on the colour....

2011September25RoyalMelbShow150.jpg

or the silver version.

2011September25RoyalMelbShow152.jpg

The dogs are constantly on show....outside..

2011September25RoyalMelbShow154.jpg

2011September25RoyalMelbShow177.jpg

...and inside.

2011September25RoyalMelbShow180.jpg

Each dog gets a space like this....

2011September25RoyalMelbShow178.jpg

Pretty comfortable digs for them; particularly when their human pets bring blankets from home.

For those of you horsey minded, I also did the rounds with the equines.

2011September25RoyalMelbShow132.jpg

Their type of parading is a little bit more up my alley...love the equestrian events!

kmedina - Kiss the baby for me! Love the little ones! And I understand some about the medical stuff since I went through many years of endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids, pelvic and stomach pain, anemia, gall bladder problems and so on. I was trying to be healthy but it hurt to walk fast, run. Not that this is your solution but a hysterectomy returned my life to me. Only good thing to come out of postponing it was DS.

I am sorry you went through so much. We go through so much for our kids, so they better appreciate it. My pregnany incuded hypertension is still lingering, and I am not allowed to lift more than 15lbs, so I am having a hard time getting getting into shape (healthy). The hysterectomy is the surgery my Doctor thinks will be best, but I want to have one more kid first. If I do, I will likely need a C-section, since pushing could cause further damage.

Good evening everyone. It was a long day, so I am just getting started with my DISing.

Loving the pictures Princess.

Never fear....humans are not to be outdone either....

Daredevil motor cycle riders.

....and more in keeping with the Show....wood choppers. How much wood can a woodchop chop if a woodchop chop could chop wood?? Well, as much as it takes for a battalion of volunteers to clean up!

The shows that I enjoy the most combine both humans and animals....

Animal wranglers...

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2136.jpg

...always pick a child to help them open this box from the audience...

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2140.jpg

....out of the box of Babes!

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2142.jpg

Never fear! The bacon is always collected safely!

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2150.jpg

And for skiingfast...if he checks in.....it's an old gag....

Its a real cow.....and a real cowboy....no bull!

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2156.jpg

One last smile for the audience...

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2155.jpg

And they ride off into the sunset....er....stage left!

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2161.jpg

(yes...that is a bull he's riding this time!)

Leaving someone to clean up the mess behind them.

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2252.jpg

The other animal/human show I caught was Frisbee Dogs.

I am sorry, when I had mine it was the best decision I ever made. I dont get hot flashes, mood swings. And I dont take estrogen. I figured they would do a c- section so you dont push it out. I had mine out when I was in my early 30's. My endometriosis was really bad. But I am sure you and your husband will make the best descision for you. I hope you get a girl.

I didn't take that many pictures...of carnival rides. But there was all that you would normally expect of an event like this.

2011September25RoyalMelbShow001.jpg

2011September25RoyalMelbShow139.jpg

Including a water drop...themed around pirates!

2011September25RoyalMelbShow140.jpg

2011September25RoyalMelbShow029.jpg

I made the effort to head back the second day specifically to hit the equivalent of the Haunted Mansion. Horrorwood Mansion! I needed to get some pictures for the scavenger hunt!

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2010.jpg

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2008.jpg

I was told that no photography was allowed; all bags to be left at the gate. But when they saw my camera around my neck, they told me to take it inside because they didn't want to have the liability of something like that lying around! I took that as permission to do flashless photography. It's a walkthrough about 10 rooms or so....all awfully dark; so a lot of times, I couldn't even take a picture even if I had tried!

There are live actors in there; all Horror villians! This one turned out quite well and will nicely fit one of the hunt categories!

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2226.jpg

And outside the horrorwood mansion?

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2221.jpg

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2222.jpg

I was quite pleased with the horror set. :thumbsup2

Stay well everybody with sniffles and aches!

And thanks for the well-wishes with our new temp!

I'm working on my Canada pics every night when I can; if only DH would ignore me once in awhile :worship:

Thank you. I really want a daughter but will be done having kids even if it is a boy. It is nice too hear that you and kmall both had good experiences and outcomes with your surgeries. The other option of tying the bladder off another organ scares me more than the possible side effects from a hysterectomy.

Anyone hungry yet?

This is the inside of the food pavillion. Yes, there are LOADS of food sellers outside and all around the 19 hectares....but the best food is usually found inside the food pavillion.

2011September25RoyalMelbShow034.jpg

There are also the normal food traders around.....lots of stands and stalls....very little table sitting space.

2011September25RoyalMelbShow052.jpg

Given that I'd just attended the Taste of Melbourne and taken heaps of food porn, I was pretty restrained inside the pavillion. I limited myself to the targetted scav hunt items...

Best deal in the house. A toasted cheese sandwich was $2.

Brazilian picanha. So good!

Paella!

Seafood...

and chicken and chorizo.

Crepes!

2011September25RoyalMelbShow046.jpg

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2249.jpg

They didn't hand out cutlery with the crepes...so I didn't look very elegant scoffing this down!

2011September27RoyalMelbShowD2250.jpg

Dutch poffertjes are cooked like this...

2011September25RoyalMelbShow049.jpg

Waffles!

2011September25RoyalMelbShow061.jpg

After a hysteretomy the symptons arent any worse than if you would go through menopause. All I can say for me is I didnt get those symptoms. I really did not want to use the hormones. Everyone is different. I had someone ask me after surgery how I felt, I said the only thing that hurts is the stitches and staples. There was nothing more to hurt.:lmao:

The head nurse said I would be there 5 days I said I will be gone the 3rd day. She laughed. I hope she had a good laugh when she came to check on me cause I was released the 3rd day.:lmao:

After the 3rd week I was driving DR said ok I was vacuuming and all kinds of stuff. So dont get scared about the reading. I know you will be ok.:thumbsup2:hug:

Oh my hips and all that food. I am in a food coma just looking at it. Lovely I check in with my weight soon enough. :sad1:
