I have coffee with a 70'something year old on Thursday mornings. Have I ever told you about her?

A number of us mums used to go to the same coffee shop every thursday to have coffee. This lady always used to be there, sitting by herself. One of the other mums got friendly with her and she started to join us.

Anyway, the other mums have all got part time jobs and we no longer meet up on a Thursday. When the mums were meeting up, we were about the only company she had all week.

I'm the only one that still goes on a Thursday....and this is really to meet up with this 70 something lady. She has family...but they are all busy and shes pretty much alone most of the week.

Anyway....she was sick today but still got out of bed to come to have coffee with me. She does have my mobile number and she can always text to cancel; but she wanted some company. I'm a bit worried about her...she really didn't look well.

She is lucky to have you looking out for her. We have known a lot of disenfranchised old people in the last few years and it is very sad. We have a lady in our buildings that we are slightly worried about and we are hoping she will move out soon as we don't want to deal with the whole dead tenant type of thing.

I really dont know. I go through some things once in a while. Thanks for asking. I had to go grocery shopping. I didnt want to. We havent gone in over 3 months.

How can you not go grocery shopping for three months? What do you do for vegetables?

I am so looking forward to getting away for a few days, but WHAT am I going to wear to the Oktoberfest??????

Do you clean them or hire someone? I cant believe some people wont clean places when they move and then they wonder why they dont get deposits back. And the carpet clean as well. Glad it will be an easy clean.

We have to "pay" someone to to do it because we are not allowed (by Law) to charge tenants for our fees. We generally have our cleaning lady do the cleaning and then pay her with a check (normally we use cash) and actually put it in the books. I hope we don't have to clean the carpets since they were new 8 months ago. These gals were pretty clean.

you've surfaced! Feeling better?

Last night I slept for a couple hours. Took DS to school did a couple quick errands got back to the house feeling like it was nearly questionable to drive. Did some quick work, came on this computer to do some posting check FB and read some news. Decided I should try to take a nap. Slept wonderfully from 9:30am to 1:30, changed the alarm to 2:30. Woke had a sandwhich and picked up DS feeling great. Didn't start coughing again to after dinner so had some more medicine.

The stupid tenants (well actually one) freaked out because we've had the worst flea season in Long Beach and there are cats on property, so fleas got in their apartment. Then somehow they got cockroaches? We didn't have any and we have the other three apartments in the building.

Do they have piles of kitchen trash in thier apartment? That happened in a place across from me in college.

To be quite honest I am not sure how it became 3 months. We have can veggies. We had meat. It doesnt take much for 2 people. DH doenst usually come home till late in summer months. Now that winter is coming he wont work as late except for some of the pizza huts that have to be done. I was shocked we only spent 236.00 dollars for 6 weeks worth of grocerys.

Since at least once of our meals a week if not more are salads we need lettuce, cucumber, celery, carrots, onions, and other veggies. We can't go more than 4-5 days without hitting the grocery store. I can't imagine months.

I can't go more than 5 days without hitting a greengrocer! Between fruit and vegies, we need a constant fresh supply for food and for lunches.
