I'm missing out too. Just found a thread on the CB....The Amazing Adventures of the 2012 Disney Mom's Panel.

Just started to open it and I still have no idea about what it's about!

I think this link might work to take you to the actual Mom's panel. It's a group of people (mostly moms) who answer WDW trip planning questions submitted through the website. I believe they answer 25 questions per week. I guess you might say it's sort of like the DIS, but they are much more selective about who gets in ... and they can't post random bacon pics.

Each year there is a selection process for new members of the panel. It's not a paid job, but supposedly Disney brings you in for "training" and you get a trip for 4 to WDW (or possibly other disney parks?) as "compensation".

It's quite an achievement!

I can see from the link you posted what happens with round 1 answers and the round 2 video.
Is the video the last thing you need to do? What's involved with Round 3?

round 3 is a phone interview. I haven't worried myself with what kinds of questions they ask for that. That's a bridge I'll cross if I ever find myself in front of it.

Not sure. Sometime between now and Halloween. The email sent to let me know I made it to Round 2 says "Your response will be reviewed by our judging panel. If you are among those selected to move on as a finalist, a representative from the Walt Disney World Moms Panel will contact you via email to schedule a phone interview the first week of November."

I am not sure if they are saying that I will be contacted the first week of November, or if that's when the phone interviews will be scheduled for

there's been a lot of speculation about that on the MP thread you found. No way to tell as far as I can see. Another thing is that there's no set number of people they are looking for. And this year they've added new categories to the search, to look for people specifically knowledgeable about rundisney, DVC, DCL, and DLR.

so one person's guess is truly as good as another's in this case.

I noticed the different categories on that thread. And on the Disney website itself, there were definitely more panel members than 10...and only one with ABD specialist against her name. Maybe they will do a few more of those for 2012.

oh yeah, ABD, I forgot that one.

And I always thought it was a one year thing, but now I hear it's for 2 years, or perhaps you can keep on as long as you want??? I have no idea how they decide who or how many. All I can do is answer the questions.

As you said, one step at a time. Get to R3, answer phone questions and then worry about how long you decide to stay on the panel for. Hmmm....wonder if you stay on for 2 years if that means 2 trips??
