Good night lasters. Of to cough myself asleep.

I broke free of my manacles and am homeward bound...
Of course I know tomorrow will be a very long day so there isn't much victory in this...

ebay and it applies to many other things. I just post too slow for your guys.

You don't post too slow....it's the DIS!

And the good thing about being a contractor is that you can ALWAYS look elsewhere!

Well...even if I was full time permanent I could keep looking.....

Thing is it took 6 months of solid applying to get this and having this company on the resume is a very good thing.
The past week has been hell.......and if I weren't so absolutely buggered and busy the past weeks I might have started looking....but I keep thinking back to those depressing months of hunting.... :sad2:

I have a few great workmates....which is the rub. And I want to see this project through in a way as the learning potential is there. But we are just being stretched far too thin.

Learned a few things today.....office gossip......which makes me even more mad about the things happening. but we won't go there.......

It's a problem in this post gfc era doing everything as cheap as possible.
This industry has always overworked and underpaid the minions because there was a light of getting higher and rewards in due course.

But this financial situation.....

Sigh....

So what's for dinner? I have no idea what's happening. Darth and mum are returning home tonight. So I'll wait for them. But I suspect it might involve a microwave...lol...
But in the meantime rasin toast seems like a plan :-)

Laundry is this weekends project. Got a crap load of stuff....
But they say it will be crazy hot this weekend so that works for me I guess.

Which reminds me...you guys are always mentioning using the dryer. Do you not use a clothesline even in summer in the US??
I haven't used our dryer except when desperate...

I'm still using a clothes line....even in winter. When we renovated the house, I put a ducted heating vent in my laundry. The builder thought I was loony; but I had seen the concept in drying cupboards skiing and in Europe.

We have open wire racks in our laundry and I hang my clothes there in winter. Dries real well with the warmth in there.
In summer, laundry goes outside on the clothes line.

We do have a dryer and use it for final drying; particularly in winter. Hard to really dry towels unless we leave them in the laundry for 4 days.....much easier to have them nearly dry in 24 hours and a quick spin round the dryer.

We won't go there. I found out this week how much I was NOT getting for the bonus.....:headache:

As part of my trip to the Hunter Valley we went to the Broke Village Fair -

There were two parts - the 'market' stalls with brik a brack etc...
And the car show...

These are some photos from the Vintage Car Display

In Australia the Rural Fire Brigade is a core component of our 'rescue' services given the bush fire hazard across the country. This is a retired vehicle

Good Night all

Yes. The Tulip Festival up at Tesselaar's farm started today. They put the word out that the tulips had blossomed early....i.e., go early in the season; not late.

So, after I dropped DS off at school I headed up. Got horribly lost...took me 45 minutes longer to get there than it should have...long story.

Anyway, the tulips were very pretty and I'm just looking at the pics and loaded up on Photobucket. Loading them up SUPER LARGE size, so taking longer than normal.

Ahhh...interesting :)
I'll look forward to seeing them tomorrow sometime.

I'm an expert at getting lost.....especially in the CBD.....
