Sorry about your computer. I have a feeling my laptop will be dying soon. I will not replace it though, since my iPad works fine for most things and I still have the desktop for others.

We are doing well. No one is sick (cannot wait until the kids are older and stop bringing home sickness all the time). Cheap comes home from his business trip tonight, so that makes me happy.

Not only is he Crap....but he's Cheap as well???

I need to replace mine, but I won't be able to for at least a year. I just can't afford it. I'm glad you guys are doing well

I completely missed you sneaking in!

How are you? I've missed you.

That's the point of sneaking in ;) I've been all right, weather and computer issues aside. Just working and all that.

I'm okay. Mundane life seems very pleasant right now compared to what is happening in Boston.

What about you? I hear wild weather and flooding in Chicago....are you okay?

Yeah, no kidding. A friend of a friend of a friend is the uncle of the 8 year old who died in the bombing. Another friend was visiting Boston at the time and when I found out what happened, I texted her and asked if she was okay. She was nowhere near it, thank the FSM.

The weather has been insane. I have pics of the flooding in my neighborhood, but they're on my iPod, which is upstairs. The streets north of us were completely impassable. We didn't have any water in the basement, though, so that's a good thing.

And how is the computer?

The computer seems to be fixed now. It's been giving me trouble for a few weeks, but I finally got it sorted out today.

:thumbsup2

Same-sex marriage debate is an on-again, off-again debate in Australia too. This week, it had some press coverage because New Zealand just passed the law through their Parliament to make it legal.
Our current politicians are incredibly conservative! 65% of the Australian population are happy to recognise same-sex marriage and would like it to be legal. Sadly, both sides of politics over here do not. :sad2:

I heard about that in anew Zealand. That is wonderful. It is crazy that politicians who should represent the people ignore what the people want. 65% is almost 2/3. Last I heard our number was 53% for and 39% against. That number will keep rising as people realize that other people deserve to be happy and other people's personal lives are none of their business. Who is someone to say what someone else should do with his/her personal life. It bewilders me. Since more and more people are open with who they are and the people who truly love them want what is best for them, I know I will see it made legal in my lifetime.

I am fiscally conservative and socially liberal. While I would love to classify myself as a libertarian, I want my vote to count. Therefore, I vote Republican. True republicans can be slightly hypocritical in my mind, because they believe in small government yet pass laws invading personal lives. How does that limit the government? That gives the government more power than it deserves. That is why I am happy that more and more republicans are starting to get the picture. A republican senator recently came out to support gay marriage. The other republicans just feel like we should keep traditional values. Values according to whom is what I say. It was not that long ago that our values thought it was okay to have slaves. Things change, and I think things get better when we all look out for our fellow man (or woman).

Autocorrect. I wish he was Cheap though. He spends way too much money on things he should not (because I could use that money for Disney trips). He always complains I spend too much on our trips but always admits that he really enjoys them.

WOW!! So sorry for your friend of a friend of a friend is the uncle of the 8 year old who died in the bombing. That is every parent's worst nightmare!

Hope your computer IS sorted.

I hope that your neighbourhood is okay. I'm glad you checked in. Been really wondering how you are.

I read the statement from the eight year old's Dad and lost it. His wife has brain injuries, and his daughter lost a leg as well. It has been a very tough week for that family. They are in my prayers. I hope his Uncle can be there for his brother or BIL (if that is the case). He must be hurting too, so I will add him to my prayers.

Yeah, no kidding. I can't imagine something that awful happening to my niece.

Flooding in my neighborhood:

The explosion in Texas has also been in my prayers. Rough week for so many, including the family of the police officer the bombing suspects killed today.

That was actually one block over and one block north. We're a block and a half south of the river. You can't tell in that pic, but there are about four or five cars underwater further down the street. The reason that street dead ends is because of the river.

It appealed to my sense of humour.

I really need to plan a trip to visit Chicago one of these years! Would love to see that street (and maybe gatecrash for one of your cakes! :teeth:)

Quite honestly, that's why I framed the picture the way I did :)

Yes, you do! I wish I could send you guys a cake through the mail or something, but I don't think it would survive the journey. Did I tell you that the program I'm gonna enroll in has an entire six-week class just on bread? I think I did...

If you did, I don't remember....but then I am an old fogie.

Congrats! When does it start.

I don't start school until January, so I think that class will be sometime over the summer. Not sure, though. If I get into the DCP for my externship, I'll be down in Orlando for the last three months of 2015.
