It's almost as good as being there! Planning and anticipation. Do you agree?

We just got home yesterday after a trip that lasted 23 days. We had a fantastic time and had done a lot of advance planning for it. It had been booked even before we had returned from last year's trip.

Booking so far in advance gives us something to look forward to and planning it ensures we make the most of the time available while we are away.

Just saw this article and it seems that the anticipation can be even more enjoyable than the holiday itself.

Thought i'd share it .

Planning is definitely a lot of the fun :) I've said before that without any more trips planned in the next couple of years, I'll be disappointed when the holiday is close!! :(

absolutely!!!
planning is at least half the fun

which is why i so enjoy helping other people plan their trips (for free- i don't get paid - just do it for fun - everyone knows i'm the disneyholic so they come to me to plan their trips for them. i've planned about 30 or 40 trips thus far)

I completely agree. I love planning and start months ( even years) before we go.
Everyone thinks my disney obsession is weird but planning and looking forward to it is just as fun as the holiday.
I hate not having anything to plan, like now as we aren't going to 2016 but looking at everyone's plans on here keeps from depression lol

My husband is the planner in our house and I know he absolutely loves it. Me, not so much, so it's a good job he gets pleasure from it. I also am of the opinion that the travel (there and back) is part of the holiday and not just a means to an end. Therefore, if we get delays we just take in in our stride, look upon it as part of the adventure and don't stress.

Agree completely, Pam! We make our journey part of the fun... it is better that way.

Normally I would agree, however, I do have to say that I haven't found planning this trip as enjoyable as past ones, with the introduction of scheduling fastpasses.

On top of having to decide what to do each day and book everything, and reading up on the fastpass situation which has changed since we were last there I am finding it a bit stressful.

That said once we have been, and understand the system, have tested it out, worked out how it best fits our family the next trip may not be as stressful to plan.

I absolutely agree! It gives me such a thrill to think about what we are going to be doing. I love looking at menus!!

I'm another one who enjoys the planning and build up as much as the holiday itself! It's all part of it for me.

Every time I plan or book something I imagine myself there. It's like having a little bit of Disney each time!!!

Definitely agree! I absolutely love planning, so I can imagine all the things we'll be doing. My family thinks I'm a bit weird, but that's okay. It does feel a bit weird being 17 and telling my parents what we'll be doing for our trip in 2 months time, feel like it should be the other way round!

Hope, do I know you? :)

We are not returning until October 2016 but have started a list of must do's and tips etc that might be useful. Only way we can plan anything this far in advance.

Yes totally agree! I have enjoyed planning this particular holiday so much that I worry the actual holiday won't be as exciting!!

Planning my next trip, even if only in my head in preparation of booking, is what keeps me sane at home ;)

Yes you do, only just realised you posted in here earlier! :-)

Lol, don't we just love a bit of planning? Are you going to do a trip report on here, Hope? And where is your ticker?
