It's all smooth sailing from here... right? ALL DONE AND NEW TR LINK UP

I'm slowing catching up again, Pat (bad week for my husband). I never knew that theater existed. I'm glad you enjoyed the show and it was something you could do without too much of a crowd.

Can't wait to hear about dinner with Cynthia and family.

I thought I needed to go to the theater next to AI where the Drew Carey show used to be but NOPE... I don't think the CM at the door knew where the other theater was and I didn't want to go get a map!!

I had no idea this existed. :confused3

Decorations on the tree. Yes that is a rubber chicken.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: I'm totally putting that on my tree.

I heard some of these guys are from the former Adventurer’s Club in DTD but since I never made it there …. I wouldn’t know.

Yeah, I heard great things about the AC too, but...:confused3

What did I think? It was a good show. It was apparent they tried really hard to stay family friendly and went to the edge sometimes. Would I stand in a long line – no but I am glad I went and given the crowds it is a great holiday thing to do in addition to the other “available all the time” rides.

Always nice to see something unique at WDW, though.

Where was that? With Family of course, I was going to O’hana with Cynthia’s clan.

:cool1::woohoo::yay:

Finally back on the DIS and slowly catching up on some TR's. Always look forward to your pics, Pat, because I LOVE Disney bathrooms. Since I never or rarely take pics (other than of Sophia with my iPhone) it is great to see all my favorite spots here ...no one else takes pics of bathrooms. :confused3

All the decorations remind me that it has been too long since a December visit - went the first week of Dec for years but the news got out that it wasn't crowded and you know what happened then. :sad2:

We just got back from a short Disney trip with Sophia and DD...had to stay offsite (first time in over 30 yrs not onsite). It was very close so it really wasn't bad...but the trip was not quite as expected. Anyway...back to reading...made it to page nine! Great TR! ::yes::

I'm all caught up! :cool1: I just can't seem to keep up with anyone these days, so I'm going to stop apologizing too. ;) Love all the holiday décor shots!

I never saw AC either - missed it by a few months, I think. Fun that they could bring that type of show in for the Holidays. I wonder if they would ever put it in somewhere for adult entertainment - maybe Boardwalk?

Funny Y story - Thurs night we were doing water aerobics - outdoor pool -and an airforce plane was flying through the clouds above us. The lifeguard blew the whistle and yelled, "please clear the pool!" He thought it was thunder! :lmao:

That rubber chicken is a hoot!

And the backwards stencil! Brilliant!

Glad you found the show and enjoyed it!

I didn't just want a picture with Bo. I wanted a picture with you AND Bo! :confused3

It was a nice show and so glad I remembered to seek it out.

I literally was walking out and turned to snap a quick one.:rotfl2:

Next time me and BO. :thumbsup2

Getting myself caught up today, I am behind as usual, work has been really busy but you understand about that...

I definitely want to try BOG next trip, I might have to do both lunch and dinner, LOL. Too bad it was so dark and cramped for too many pics.

Sounds like the FP+ has been working well for you so far.

I love that Etch a Sketch at TSMM!

What theater is that where the Christmas show was? is that indoor or outdoor? Is that the one where Beauty and the Beast used to be??

Totally get it, believe me I am struggling right now to type straight since well I can't seem to see straight because I am so tired.

The theater is indoors and behind Muppets sort of. Or if you walk down the Streets of America where the Osborne lights are the little side street with the Chinese restaurant and laundry, keep walking out of the area and the theater will be in front of you.

FP+ worked with the paper FP until........

I am pretty sure I have been in that Theatre. I think that is where Doug Live used to be and my older kids were big fans of the show many years ago. I heard it just sits now, and that looks just like it from what I remember.

I remember going in there for a show but cannot remember which one. I keep thinking it was a Nickelodeon show but that is not possible.

I'm slowing catching up again, Pat (bad week for my husband). I never knew that theater existed. I'm glad you enjoyed the show and it was something you could do without too much of a crowd.

Can't wait to hear about dinner with Cynthia and family.

So sorry to hear about Mark. I apologize for not being able to comment to you earlier but barely had time to read the little I have much less comment.

Dinner was great but I will spoil it, not a single picture.

I had no idea this existed. :confused3

:rotfl2: I just get one of each park now as souveneirs as things change.

:lmao: I'm totally putting that on my tree.
You mean you don't already have one??:confused3

Yeah, I heard great things about the AC too, but...:confused3

I have a hard time tearing myself away from the parks.;)

Always nice to see something unique at WDW, though.

It was a cute show.

It was a good dinner

Finally back on the DIS and slowly catching up on some TR's. Always look forward to your pics, Pat, because I LOVE Disney bathrooms. Since I never or rarely take pics (other than of Sophia with my iPhone) it is great to see all my favorite spots here ...no one else takes pics of bathrooms. :confused3

I do find it fascinating that the themeing goes all the way through to the garbage cans and bathrooms.

All the decorations remind me that it has been too long since a December visit - went the first week of Dec for years but the news got out that it wasn't crowded and you know what happened then. :sad2:

Yes a December trip is a must do every few years. Yes the really low crowd days are far and few between.

We just got back from a short Disney trip with Sophia and DD...had to stay offsite (first time in over 30 yrs not onsite). It was very close so it really wasn't bad...but the trip was not quite as expected. Anyway...back to reading...made it to page nine! Great TR! ::yes::

Hope you had a wonderful trip.

Hopefully those show find a new home. The Boardwalk is a great idea.

Funny Y story - Thurs night we were doing water aerobics - outdoor pool -and an airforce plane was flying through the clouds above us. The lifeguard blew the whistle and yelled, "please clear the pool!" He thought it was thunder! :lmao:

:rotfl2: and :sad2: at the same time. I just had my guards close the only day we had NOTHING. really?!?!?!? I now make them get a second opinion from the recreation people ( read not bias) before closing.

I was manager of a pool near the speedway and race day we hear what sounded like thunder but it wasn't right. After thinking a bit we realized the speedway had a fly over to start the festivities.

That and when the SST flew every morning at the same time we heard the sonic boom. New guards always thought it was thunder.

Teenagers ..... :faint:

My best guess is a walk back to BCV and some down time for a nap or just rest because....

My next picture is here.

Ahhh My beloved Poly. I am sure the renovations will be beautiful but right now the place is a disaster area. :crazy2:

The peekie Tiki… :lmao:

Soon I was meeting up with Cynthia and the family. A quick stop at the bar and we were seated. I believe we were seated in front of this guy.

I have absolutely NO pictures of dinner. I spoke with the chef and he brought me special salad and chicken. But dinner was served so fast that it was so late. I am wondering if the chicken being taken off the menu had anything to do with allergens. Not sure what was on it but I was told I couldn’t have it. Not sure if it was soy- I try to leave that off for this meal since I know so many things have soy on that table so I think it was mustard. In any event the chicken is no longer there.

Our meal was fast for a big table. I mean as soon as we were seated there were plates being brought out and plenty of them.

We all had a wonderful time and a great dinner. So much so that really besides Cynthia getting evidence of Jeff and the caramel sauce :rotfl: we just ate, drank and were merry. :goodvibes

After dinner a walk down to the beach was necessary.

Continued....

We were out in time for nighttime fireworks.
Always a great excuse to stop on the beach. The last time this view is unobstructed……Fireworks
were at 8:30pm

No trip complete without the EWP.

With that the plan was to wait for the New Years Eve Eve fireworks from MK. However, being full tired and possible cold or feeling ”damp” won. I know Cynthia’s gang also bailed.
So I went upstairs to take a picture of the Poly tree.

Now I was tired and full but had a chance to see something I have not seen since 2009..... Next time. :)

Great Updates Pat, the firework pix were great!!! Waiting to hear what you hadn't done since 2009

Had to dangle that little carrot, didn't you? Now I am super curious.

The Poly Christmas tree is so pretty. You're right - the resort looks so crappy with the construction.

So was your dinner OK? Was everyone almost done eating by the time you were served? I hope it was a good meal for you but I am a little disappointed in the lack of pictures. The very least you could have done was throw a mai tai in there. :rotfl:

Great idea to watch the fireworks from the beach. I love the ELP. It's really cool and so classic.

Great update!

I can't wait to see the Poly after the construction but I don't want to see it until its done...I can't stand to see it all torn up.

Nice cliffhanger!

Mon Dec 30th – Yes I know that was so long ago. So long ago that I look at my pictures and the first one had a time stamp that said 12 noon. NOON!!!

I remember having the exact same reaction when I did my update from this day

:lmao:

That can’t be right. :scratchin:

So I go back to my notes which had the times of the FP+ listed along with dining reservations.

Then I realized- this was the morning Cynthia went food shopping for her crew! And my camera is an hour off.

So the morning started early picking up Cynthia at BWV for a trip off property to Target. A cartful of shopping was done, fruit and veggies weighed but that was done at an adjacent register since the scale was broken at the register she picked. 18 bags later and with help from a bellman, Cynthia was on her way back to her room.

Oh that scale!!!!!!!!!!!! What a nightmare. I felt so bad for the cashiers, one would read, one would ring...so bad I almost blocked it from my mind. I bet it added close to 10 minutes to the checkout.

And yes, it was 18 bags.

Thank you again, it made a HUGE difference in our trip!

Too funny, I've heard the boards flip before, it's weird!

The third FP+ of the day was for TSMM but not until 1:10-2:10.
A walk past and down around the street of America. There might have been a Cynthia and Jeff sighting around here as they were walking the other way.
I set out to stalk the Santa Goofy line.

Yes there was!!!!

Would I find the theater and what would I think of the Holiday show?

I would have liked to have seen it. I did visit the old Adventurers club and OH I wish it would come back. I think my parents, or Kerri & Eric saw the comedy show and thought it was ok.

It was insanely fast. Too fast. Poor you and Melissa didn't get your food till a LOT had been inhaled by everyone else. But it was fun, and other than the speed, just perfect. And yummy!

Man, if I though the Poly was a mess in Jan, it was utterly depressing in May.

I almost cried when I saw the Poly in May...so sad to walk in and not seen the beautiful lobby the way we all remember it. You got great pictures of the decorations.

Sorry your meal took so long, but glad you were able to join Cynthia and family.

Great fireworks pictures from the beach.

One of these days we have to get back to see EWP.

I have read a few comments about Dinner at Ohana being rather rushed. I think since it is so popular, they try to turn around tables as quickly as possible and with everyone getting the same food anyway, they can just have everything prepared continiously.

I haven't been there since 2004 myself... But somehow current reviews don't really entice me to go back.

And your pictures once again confirmed to me that I needt to try to see fireworks from the beach one day. If they even let you do that still without staying there...

Well you know the Doug show used to be on Nick, but then Disney bought it and put it on their network, so maybe that is the show you saw.
Paige is 22 now and I think she was 6 or 7 when we went and saw it.

Nice even with friend and dinner and fireworks too. I understand...sometimes you just have to bail out and go rest up.

Great Updates Pat, the firework pix were great!!! Waiting to hear what you hadn't done since 2009

Thanks Rosie-

Great update!

The Poly is so sad right now!!! I am sure it will get worse before it gets better but it pains me to see it now. At the same time I have to see the transformation.

Cynthia says it below but it was good just fast. When the chef has to get Kerri and special items they didn't come out until way after the stuff we couldn't eat did.

Oh No I won't dangle carrots ... I am allergic to them. :rotfl: Now I might dangle a cheeseburger or french fries....

I can't wait to see the Poly after the construction but I don't want to see it until its done...I can't stand to see it all torn up.

Nice cliffhanger!

Jill in CO

Love the yodeler.... I need to see it transform but it makes me so sad.

Right?!?!?!? Teenagers I tell you, they will come up with some great ways to avoid doing what they are supposed to do. If they would just put forth that much energy to doing what they should..

I remember having the exact same reaction when I did my update from this day

Seems so long ago....

We got a routine down and at least it didn't involve throwing the fruits and veggies back and forth.:rotfl:

Too funny, I've heard the boards flip before, it's weird!

Ever since "Lost" it creeps me out a bit. :rotfl2:

Yes there was!!!!
:santa:

I would have liked to have seen it. I did visit the old Adventurers club and OH I wish it would come back. I think my parents, or Kerri & Eric saw the comedy show and thought it was ok.

It was Okay. It served its purpose and was amusing and even funny at times. Was I glad I walked right in and didn't wait a long time? Yes
Would I try it again under the same circumstances during peak times? Yes
It has the potential to be different every time.

It was insanely fast. Too fast. Poor you and Melissa didn't get your food till a LOT had been inhaled by everyone else. But it was fun, and other than the speed, just perfect. And yummy!

Man, if I though the Poly was a mess in Jan, it was utterly depressing in May.

It was fast and that was better than slow and with hungry teen aged boys probably a better way to go. :rotfl:

Would I have loved more time to sit and chat - absolutely but like you said, fun and yummy.

I almost cried when I saw the Poly in May...so sad to walk in and not seen the beautiful lobby the way we all remember it. You got great pictures of the decorations.

I almost cried too. I hope it will be beautiful when it is done.

Sorry your meal took so long, but glad you were able to join Cynthia and family.

Not long time - too fast... but still fun to spend time with the CLan.

Great fireworks pictures from the beach.

One of these days we have to get back to see EWP.

I hope we can still watch them from the beach when they are done.

I have read a few comments about Dinner at Ohana being rather rushed. I think since it is so popular, they try to turn around tables as quickly as possible and with everyone getting the same food anyway, they can just have everything prepared continuously.

I haven't been there since 2004 myself... But somehow current reviews don't really entice me to go back.

And your pictures once again confirmed to me that I need to try to see fireworks from the beach one day. If they even let you do that still without staying there...

I think being peak time they were in overdrive trying to keep things moving.

I am curious to the menu changes and if it makes it better or worse.

I hope you can still watch from the beach although the beach are is getting smaller and smaller.

The timing would be right for us to have seen that but I remember a theater with bleachers all around the the show in the middle? Might have been that OTHER park.
