Its a world of seafood, a world of beef, eating at LeCellier&Coral Reef(&more w/pics)

I then saw a man who I thought was my husband and started yelling at him for picking out a plain bagel when there were so many other great things to choose from.
Uh, that wasn’t my husband. Some poor man got yelled at by a complete stranger for wanting to eat a bagel.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Too funny! I can see myself doing something like that.

Really enjoying the reviews and pics. :thumbsup2

Great meal at Narcoossee's - love the picture of you both :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear more! loving your review!

Thanks!

OMG Boo is too cute!

So what did you think of the lobster tail? Was it worth getting that dish?
Thanks, she is a handful.
I would recommend getting the whole lobster. The surf n turf was good, but I wish I had gotten the other.

Great title and great reviews so far!!! Can't wait to read more!!! :yay::yay:

I am enjoying your reviews. Congrats on the new kitty!

Thanks, its been fun writing them, giving me something to do at work!

I've been trying to update the next review, but a certain kitty keeps dive bombing the keyboard freezing my computer. After two restarts, I think she is finally calming down. On to the reviews...

Thursday was the day we had scheduled the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. This was part of Mic’s birthday present (from August) so it was a treat for us both.
Mic was feeling much better, so no threat of him canceling.
Our tour began at 9:00 am and included lunch at Columbia Harbour House. We got to pick our lunch before the tour began from a menu they supplied us. We both chose the chicken nuggets, French fries & coke.

Neither of us were too interested in eating at this location due to the menu. We both like chicken strips, but nuggets really didn’t catch our attention. And there wasn’t anything else on the menu we were fond of. But it was included in our tour, so we got to try it.

We made our way inside and were escorted upstairs to a private dining room.
100_0281.jpg

We found all of the tables already set with our chosen lunch, drink & a place card with our names on it. We also had a gift from the tour waiting there for us. It was a nice surprise, and the atmosphere was wonderful. The chicken nuggets were surprisingly good.
100_0282.jpg

We had plenty of time to refresh & explore the upper part of the restaurant before returning to our tour.
No QS credits were used due to lunch being included in the price of the tour.

The tour ended near 2:00 pm. We were very hot & tired afterwards & wanted to crash. Our dinner reservation was at 5:15 pm at Tony’s Town Square. The Magic Kingdom also would be closing at 7pm for the Halloween Party.
We knew this was not gonna work, & that we wouldn’t be hungry anyway. So I called the reservation line & asked if there were any openings for Tutto Italia at Epcot around 8pm. There weren’t. But there were openings at Biergarten, Le Chefs & the Rose and Crown.
So we decided on Le Chefs and were able to go back to ASMu to refresh first. (Biergarten is awesome, we went last year and loved it.)

We arrived a few hours early to explore World Showcase & got some great pictures near France. I was excited to see Marie:

We checked in about 20 minutes early & were seated within 10 minutes. It was packed inside the restaurant, beautiful but crowded. Our server had a great French accent, of course. We looked at the menu & saw that there was a Prix Fixe option ($37.00 each) with 3 courses: appetizer, entrée & desert. We were eligible to get this on the ddp, but you did have a limited choice. No Problem!
Mic has always wanted to try French Onion Soup, and this was one of the c choices. I had been craving Lobster Bisque all trip, and it was also one. So we went with these.

100_0273.jpg

The Lobster Bisque was so good, I almost licked the bowl. Mic tried the Onion soup, but wasn’t sold on it. He had a couple spoonfuls. I also tried it (first time for me as well). Not bad, but I am not a huge onion fan.

For my entrée, I chose the Beef Shortribs braised in cabernet with pasta, pearl onions & mushrooms.
100_0274.jpg

I had wanted to try something outside of my comfort zone. I rarely order beef unless its steak. I just love chicken so much more. I am glad I did. This was very good, and I’d definitely order it again.

Mic rarely orders chicken, but he must have been feeling it this evening. He ordered the Half a Roasted Chicken with rissole potatoes & grilled Tomato.
100_0275.jpg

He enjoyed his, but must not have been very hungry. He had some left over, and I was able to try some of his potatoes. Yum! They were various types of roasted potatoes – including sweet potatoes & even some black ones. Very colorful and very good.

We both ordered the same for desert – Puff Choux with vanilla ice cream & chocolate sauce. Basically Cream Puffs. The ice cream & chocolate sauce complimented these perfectly.
100_0277.jpg

Our service was very good, our food arrived very quickly for all three courses. But I did notice that the table next to us (who had arrived & ordered before us) had not received their entrees yet as we were receiving our desert. It seemed like some of the servers were too focused on their own conversations at times, despite the crowded restaurant.
Overall, our meal was good. Not the best of our trip, but good enough to try the restaurant again sometime.

Only one more review to go! Coming Soon...

I am loving your report and the pics!

Also, congrats on the new kitty. My Max turned 14 last week, he's an old man kitty now.

:goodvibesThanks for the review of Cape May. It seems like people on here either love the crab legs, or say they aren't good. Glad you liked them...going in 6 days to Cape May Dinner.

Loving the reviews:lovestruc...as I'm sitting here during my lunch break eating cotton candy I just brought back from Disney last weekend! :cloud9:

Oh my goodness - Boo is so adorable!! Kittens are always too cute! :goodvibes

I'm loving the reviews for Narcoosses, Columbia Harbour House, and Le Chefs de France. Did you enjoy your Keys to the Kingdom Tour? We are considering doing this on one of our upcoming trips. Your dessert at Le Chefs de France looks amazing! I'm a big fan of cream puffs

Ahhh, only one review left? It is always so sad when reviews end. I am looking forward to what you thought of Le Cellier though!

Thanks! I am so jealous. I actually went and bought the Victoria's Secret body spray that smells like cotton candy.

Thank you, we are having so much fun with her.
We loved the KTTK tour. Our tour guide was fantastic, you could tell how much she loves WDW & especially Walt. I've heard each tour is a little different, based on who your guide is.

I can't believe I only have one more review to go! I am almost done writing it, hopefully I can post it in the next day or two.

Naaaw! I love kittens! I can't look at pics of them without getting all misty eyed!!

Who wants kids when you could have kittens!

Love your reviews, I'm a bit of a cotton candy nut too, I even have a cotton candy machine at home :cloud9:

I think I have been dragging my feet finishing this last review. I can't believe its the end! Well, here it is.

Friday gave us the opportunity to do the things we didn’t get to do on Wednesday, due to Mic being sick. We spent the day at Downtown Disney & finally got to do Characters in Flight. This was awesome! I thought I would get airsick, since I do so so often, but no problems!
We also did some shopping & ate lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express. This is one of our favorite & best QS values on the ddp. I was told that 2009 would be the last year for it on the QS plan. What a shame.
I ordered the Rigatoni with Chicken Alfredo ($14.95).
100_0291.jpg

100_0289.jpg

This came with a salad as a side. I have only recently started liking alfredo sauce, and this was very yummy.

Mic ordered the Spaghetti with Meatballs ($15.75) also with a salad as a side. He had ordered this last year & hadn’t been impressed. But, he decided to give it a second try, and loved it this year.
100_0292.jpg

Of course, we both went with large cokes ($2.65 each)

For desert, we both got the frozen yogurt with one topping ($4.25).
Very good meal.

Tonight was our Le Cellier reservation! I had been waiting for this all trip. I knew how difficult it is to get adr’s here, so I intentionally planned it for last to have a better chance at it. This is one of those restaurants that gets mixed reviews on the Dis; many people feel it’s overrated, while others love it. So I went in with an open mind.
We snapped some pictures outside:
100_0318.jpg

We went inside to check in, and only waited for about a minute when we were escorted to our table. Our server soon arrived to take our orders, and explained that smoothies were accepted here as a drink on the dining plan.
100_0310.jpg

Surprisingly, Mic turned down the smoothie for a coke. I didn’t. There were two flavors to choose from so I went with the Raspberry Smoothie with a touch of Sprite.

We were served the pretzel bread I have heard so much about. Biergarten also serves this type of bread, and I loved it as much here as I did there. Mic stuck to his bread snobbery, if it isn’t Italian, he won’t touch it.

Le Cellier also has a special three course price fix menu, just as Le Chefs did. You can choose from pre-selected appetizers, entrees & desert. The entrée I was looking at wasn’t featured so only Mic got this. The price was $36.99. Considering that my entrée was $34.99, this was an amazing deal if you are not on the dining plan.

He chose the mixed green salad for his appetizer:
100_0307.jpg

I am not sure what the topping was, I just assumed it was beets. Very pretty, but we both just kinda picked at it.
His entrée was the Salt-Crusted Prime Rib with roasted Yukon Potatoes
20091009_180559.jpg

He said it was good, but found it to be a little too fatty. I think by this point he had ordered a little too much steak for one trip also.

I ordered the Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon ($34.99) with wild mushroom risotto.
100_0313.jpg

OMG!!!! This was the most amazing thing I ate the entire trip! I have been dreaming about that mushroom risotto ever since I got back. The filet was perfect. My only complaint was that there wasn’t enough.

On to desert. Of the three choices Mic had, he went with the Canadian Chocolate Moose.
100_0316.jpg

Very rich, very good. He let me try it. We both enjoyed it.

I went with the Chocolate on Chocolate Whiskey Cake ($7.99). This was finished with a honey thyme anglaise and a chocolate vanilla walnut sauce.

100_0315.jpg

The lighter sauce, the anglaise, was a nice contrast to the very heavy chocolate cake. Very good as well. But after these deserts, we were about done with chocolate!

Mic enjoyed eating here, but didn’t love his meal like I did. My entrée made this restaurant for me. The deserts were both very good, but not the best of the trip. I must come back here to experience that dish again. Mic will come back because I loved it, and you can’t really get steak wrong for him.

By my calculations, I have a few snack credits left, but I really must not have recorded them all. My journaling tends to get a little sparse by the end of the trip unfortunately, something I need to work on for next time. I know we used a ton of credits on icees and smoothies, and I believe I used up a couple on our last morning for snacks for the plane ride home.

We also used our last two QS credits on breakfast on our last morning.

Well, this is the end of my dining report. Hope you enjoyed it, I had so much fun writing it. Hopefully another trip with dining is in my future!

I will be back to give you both of our picks for best and worst restaurant very soon.

Thank you for the report. As you stated, LeCellier gets mixed reviews and I was anxious to hear what you had to say. We are going to try it in December. Can't wait...think we willk be ordering the filet.

Again, thanks

You both are adorable !! I LOVED reading your reviews and seeing your pics...we made ADR's for Narcoosee's, Les Chefs and a few others that we haven't been to yet and it was fantastic to see your pics and read the reviews. You both look like you had a wonderful trip ! :cheer2:

Great review of Le Cellier. We will be dining there for the first time in a few weeks, and I plan on ordering what you did. Looks amazing, I don't like mushrooms but I will give the filet a try.

Excellent review! I'm glad that you enjoyed Le Cellier and your food looked really delicious!

I really enjoyed reading your report and I'm sad that it's over. You will have to start planning another trip soon so we can eat around the world with you again! :goodvibes
