Its a world of seafood, a world of beef, eating at LeCellier&Coral Reef(&more w/pics)

I was glad to see your review of Coral Reef. We've not been since our kids were young (probably 12 years ago) and DH really wants to go back. The steak looks right up my alley (he'd probably get the tilapia or the mahi mahi). I want to go back to Cape May too...I love crab legs and they didn't have them our last time there.

Great reviews! Keep them coming. You just made me put Cape May on our dining list for this year.

Great reviews. Glad to hear that Kona Cafe was good as we have a dinner ADR for August. Hopefully this time we'll actually make it as I've 'ummed and aahed' about it over several trips.

great to see your Kona review, i tend to look at the menus every so often and ive only ever seen people get the tuna or steak. I always wanted to see what the scallops look like. :thumbsup2
will def get them if they have them when we finally go there. :rotfl:

lots of great reviews, keep up the fab work.xx :goodvibes

Great reviews :thumbsup2
I haven't seen many reviews of Cape May and it looks really good.
We are at Kona a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it :)

Today was the morning we had been waiting for – Cinderella’s Royal Table. And not just breakfast, breakfast before the park opens! Our first time walking through a nearly empty, not yet opened Magic Kingdom. We made sure we had at least a half hour to walk around & take pictures.

Image091.jpg

We went inside for our reservation & took our picture with Cinderella. Cinderella was fantastic, I love how in character the princesses always are. We had a couple shots taken, when we got the picture back I was a little disappointed I couldn’t choose which one they printed. (I actually just found out this week you can access the others through the Photopass website. Wish I had known this back in October) Oh well.

We were escorted upstairs to our table – we were seated towards the back, all the way across from the windows. Most of my pictures came out really dark, I’m a little disappointed. We must have used the wrong setting.

Our waiter arrived to explain how breakfast worked. I had to have him explain it a 2nd time – I wasn’t expecting to hear they had completely changed the menu. Neither AllEars.net or my WDW app had noted the change (And they still haven’t).
You are now given a choice of three pre-plated dishes. I had been looking forward to both the stuffed French toast & the yummy breakfast potatoes. These weren’t plated together. I mentioned this to our waiter and he said he would bring me a side of the potatoes. Awesome!
Mic and I both chose the stuffed French toast with bacon.

The French toast was amazing, as usual. The potatoes? They completely changed the recipe! No more amazing cheesy potatoes. They are some kind of southwestern recipe now. Just not the same.

As for character interaction, you never know which princesses you are gonna get here, this time we had Aurora, Snow White, Belle & Jasmine. We didn’t have Jasmine last year, so I was happy to see her this time.

Our overall opinion of Cinderella’s Royal Table:
Very Disappointed with the changes. Last year the cost was about $30 per person and you had an all you can eat assortment of very good food. The price has gone up to about $50 a person & they have not only reduced the food choices & quantity, they have also changed the recipes.

Don’t get me wrong, the food was good. The characters were great. Our server was accommodating & brought us anything we needed.
We might have enjoyed the meal better if we hadn’t had such a spectacular meal just one year earlier.
Cost of meal $94
No TS credits used for this meal.

After a mid-afternoon nap, we came back to the Magic Kingdom near 4pm for dinner & MNSSHP. All of the cast members were already in their Halloween costumes greeting us with our wristbands & treat bags. I love Halloween!

We made our way over to Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café. Once again, Mic and I chose the same meal – the half chicken & BBQ Rib combo ($13.99 per person). This is served with mashed potatoes & green beans. OMG this was sooo good.

Of course, Coke ($2.49) to drink. For desert, Triple Chocolate Cake ($3.59). This is a fantastic place to burn those QS credits.
Cost of meal $40.14

Every trip to WDW, I say I’m gonna get a dole whip. I just don’t seem to make it. So this time I was gonna do it.
We fought the trick or treaters over to Aloha Isle and I got the dole whip float ($3.99) while Mic got his favorite – a rootbeer float ($3.79). He loved his. I loved the dole whip part of mine. Not so much for the juice. I hate floats of any kind, the thought of ice cream mixed with carbonated liquid just grosses me out. But I wanted to give it a chance, so I did. Now I know to just get the ice cream.

Excellent reviews and I love the title!! We are going to Cape May for breakfast in August, so I hope it is as good as your dinner! Too bad about the menu change at CRT though. I would really like to eat here, but it is soooooo expensive for so few choices. We are also going to Le Cellier for the first time in August, so I'm really looking forward to your review. Can't wait for more!! :goodvibes

Great review of Kona!:thumbsup2

We are going there in August and I can't wait! Was the shrimp sushi from the regular menu or can you order from the Sushi bar at Kona? I'm desparate to try some sushi in WDW and that shrimp tempura looks delicious!

Is it just me or does anyone else loathe the sight of ducks in the pools? We're talking flying rats people: they poop and urinate where they swim...

I'm a recreation professional that manages pools, lakes with swimming area and I've attended countless seminars on these topics. Trust me: IT IS NOT CUTE TO HAVE FLYING RATS NOR ANY OTHER SPECIES SWIMMING WHERE HUMANS DO.

The rash you have is the direct result of their waste going into the water (commonly called "duck or fowl itch"). Oh, I consider myself a lover of animals, I jsut have no desire to wade through their waste...

The seagulls at MK need to be shot or poisoned too.

Love the trip report though lol!

Sorry I haven't updated yet, it's been a crazy week.
My husband has been really sick, on the way to urgent care, my car broke down. They decided to put him on an IV, so luckily my Brother in law met me & we got a rental while we waited. Never found out what my husband has, but he is getting better.
Oh, and I got a kitten yesterday, and she is terrified of my dog. But the dog is fascinated despide the constant hissing & growling.
As for the car, not worth the money to fix, so new car shopping for me!
just a little crazy this week, lol.

I should be able to update later tonight.
Thanks for reading!

Just found this thread. Great reviews so far!

Wow crazy week! Hope your hubby is better soon and you find a new car!

I laughed about the cat and dog part as I have a cat and my DBF has a puppy and my cat does not like the dog what so ever! and they are the same size so it not like the dog scares my cat, she just wants nothing to do with her.

I hope Mic is feeling better and gets well soon! :flower3:

Aww, I love kittens. They are so cute! At first our kitten didn't like our dog either, but they soon become good friends.

I'm looking forward to the next update!! :goodvibes

Thanks! The sushi I ordered was on the regular Kona menu along with a few other sushi choices. I do believe you can also order from the Sushi bar menu as well.

Thank you. My husband is back to work and feeling normal again, thank God. Day 5 with the kitten and its a little bit better. She still hisses, but they can get really close now and even both be in the same room most of the time. I think I noticed Boo (kitten) purposely running towards the dog (Jazz) to hiss at her today. Jazz thinks she is playing back though, not warning her away. I am sure in a week or two they'll be good.
Here is Boo:

She never holds still long enough for me to snap a focused picture. I don't think she sleeps too often, either. Sooo much energy. She is 8 weeks old.

Back to the Reviews!

Our plan for Wednesday was to take it easy & explore Downtown Disney, do Characters in Flight and eat dinner at Narcoossee’s at the Grand Floridian. Not much on the schedule, just a whatever kind of day.
But Mic’s throat had started hurting on Tuesday, and by Wednesday morning he was full on sick with a cold. So he decided to stay in bed all day and do nothing but sleep & watch tv.

I couldn’t sleep, so I walked over to the food court & got myself the All Star Breakfast Platter ($8.29) with eggs, bacon & breakfast potatoes. I didn’t want the French toast, so they gave me extra potatoes instead. Since you don’t get a desert with breakfast on the dining plan, I got an apple juice ($2.29) & a bottled ice tea ($2.29) for Mic. I also filled up my mug with coke.
I didn’t get Mic anything since he was asleep and is never hungry first thing.

I took it all to go and trekked back to the room to eat. Everything was very good, although I didn’t eat the eggs. Just wasn’t into eggs that day.
Just as I was finishing, Mic wakes up & says he’s hungry. Seriously? Our room was far enough from the food court that I was a little ticked off. I gave him my leftover eggs, and that held him over for about an hour.

Then, back to Intermission Food Court for his lunch, a double cheeseburger and fries ($7.59) another bottled ice tea (seriously, he drinks this stuff like its going out of style) and a side of fries for me ($1.99). They just looked so good, and they were!
Total cost of both meals & snack $28.73

Dinner reservations were for 8:00 at Narcoosee’s. I had planned it for this time so we could see the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom. I was so excited for this dinner, but Mic wasn’t feeling like doing anything.
The only reason I got him to go was because my good friend & travel agent texted me & told me our credit card would be charged if we didn’t make the reservation. He agreed to go after I told him this. (Yeah!)
(She then texted me again to tell me she was mistaken, no charge if we missed it. Mic had already agreed to go, no need to update him!)

We took the bus to MK and had plenty of time so we hopped on the boat to the Grand Floridian. We made our way in to Narcoossee’s and waited about 15 minutes to be seated.

We both ordered the Surf and Turf ($58.00). This dish comes with twin medallions of filet & a lobster tail accompanied by mashed potatoes, green beans & a choron sauce. (I can’t remember if It came naturally with the mashed or if we both asked to substitute).
100_0251.jpg

The plan was for Mic to get all the filet & me to get both the lobster tails. I ended up getting one of the three filet medallions. It was excellent. The lobster was good, but not fantastic. (Good enough to eat all of it!) Mic loved his entrée.

The fireworks started just before desert, so we made our way out on the side deck to watch them. I was a little surprised to see that almost the entire restaurant came outside.
I don’t know if this is normal, but the electrical light parade just happened to make its way out onto the water directly underneath the fireworks. It was like a bonus light show. Neither of us had seen this parade before and we loved it.
Back inside for desert, Mic ordered the Gelato Sampler.
20091007_214124.jpg

There were four types of gelato featured: Cappuchino, Watermelon, Chocolate & Pistachio. I think it normally comes with raspberry, but they were out & substituted the watermelon. (yuck. That’s all I’ll say.) I tried a taste of all but the watermelon. It made me want gelato. But I had my yummy desert…

I got the Ozark Apple Pecan Cake with vanilla bean whipped cream, caramelized apples & poached cranberries.
100_0259.jpg

Very good. The apples were a little bit of an odd texture, but this was a very light desert, and with all the chocolate I’d been having, perfect timing.

I have to say, I love it when the servers offer to take a picture for you. I always feel as if I am bothering them when I ask them, so I usually don't. It's just that extra bit of customer service when they offer.

Overall opinion of Narcoossee’s:
Wonderful. Great service, beautiful atmosphere and the food was good. I’d like to try something different next time, maybe the whole Maine Lobster everyone seems to rave about. (I’ve never ordered a whole lobster before, so I was hesitant to do so).
Even though Mic wasn’t feeling too good, he had a good time and was really glad to have caught the light show.
I highly recommend planning your reservation time to catch the fireworks, it made this a fantastic experience.

I love getting to the party early enough to get some pictures out of the way. In fact, I believe we were the very first to get this one. You can even see the guys setting up still in the background, unfortunately.

Hurray! Narcoosses is also on our ADR list for August! Can't wait to try it - it looks good.

Thanks for taking the time to write about your experiences!

OMG Boo is too cute! I miss Rinoa being a kitten, she was into everything and was crazy....ok she's still a bit crazy when she has her spaz moments, she sounds like a heard of elephants when she running around sometimes.

We are doing the exact same thing for Narcoosses's on our trip, going to be there for the fireworks. So what did you think of the lobster tail? Was it worth getting that dish? My original thought was to have the Surf and Turf but after the reviews I'm a bit scared. I am mainly going for the lobster so I'm trying to figure out if I should just go for the Whole Maine Lobster.

Cant wait for the rest!
