It's a World of Laughter a World of Tears A World of Hope & a World of Fears New 2/18

Good morning ladies! I would give just about anything to be there at the same time this year to share some of these lovely cocktails with you...but know I will be there in spirit!

Gotta go with the Mowie Wowie or the champagne one at POR...that sounds quite lovely also.!

I am onboard! I vote for The Southern Belle ---but I love peach flavored anything--or the Mowie Bowie. We adore POR! I am craving getting back there! I also love the fried chicken at 50's Primetime. Today is fried chicken day at our school so this picture may have tempted me to head to the Student Commons for lunch!! :rolleyes1 Not exactly the same but I can always imagine!!

When I saw the new trip booked for the F&W Festival I got so jealous! I had planned one the same time and now it appears that is out the window! :upsidedow Caitlin will discover new loves at WDW!! :thumbsup2

Hi! Glad you're joining us again!
It's been a couple years since we stayed at POR so we're looking forward to being back :)
It's looking like the Mowie Wowie will be Caitlin's first disney drink.
I'm sorry your F&W trip isn't happening! I hope you get to plan another one soon :)

Caitlin is determined to share a drink with you in 2013! Will Jasmine be 21 by then?

My first drink at Disney World will be.... :rockband: The Mowie Wowie! Thank you all for voting and I will definitely be looking forward to this!

Friday February 24

This is the day before the race so we are trying to relax and take it easy

We will be starting off the day with beignets from the French Quarter!

Don't these look amazing!

October-1st-and-2nd-198.jpg

We have had them a few times so we are very excited to be eating these little pillows of powdered sugary goodness again!

We will then explore the resort and I will take way too many pictures before we head to the bus stop and grab one for the Magic Kingdom.

But we aren't going to the Magic Kingdom! We will wave at the Castle as we take the monorail over to the Contemporary!

We are having an early lunch with a few of our fabulous friends at

contemporary-resort581.jpg

I haven't been here in forever so I am excited to eat here again!

After our rendezvous with our five fabulous friends we will explore the Contemporary some since we will be staying there in October!!!!!!!! Sooo excited for this! After we get our fill we will head on to the monorail and get off at the Poly. Of course there will be pictures and we will hop on a bus headed here

I am looking forward to checking out the Expo for the race and getting our race packets!(My mom is coming to the gym with me tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed that she continues to get better!!)

After we check out everything we will head on a bus to BW/BC where we will partake in some mini golfing (since putt putt is a Midwest term )

01-Fantasia-Gardens-300x225.jpg

Afterwards we will go to dinner. We need your help here we are not sure where to go to dinner this night!

Choices:
A.) Beaches and Cream
B.) Port Orleans Boatwright's
C.) Somewhere on the Boardwalk (need ideas)

Afterwards we will be hitting the sack for some much needed rest!

Sounds like you are in the "Everyone Vote" mode for this vacation!! I love it.

It looks like you have a great day planned. It just goes to show how much there is to do in Disney outside of the parks.

I am hoping you try Boatwrights, but only b/c I really want to try it and would love to see your reviews/pictures. It has been getting pretty good reviews over on the restaurant thread though and who knows when you will be at POR again?

Yep! I am not a huge fan of PTRs where you know they probably won't take any advice you give them  so I wanted this to be fun for you all as well by voting on my drinks and getting a say in our vacation :thumbsup2

Thank you! There is always tons to do although I know we will have the parks calling our names

1 vote for Boatwrights! We have stayed there before and will be staying there in October but we just felt like we might want to try it since it would be something new :)

Yay!!! I am late to the show, but I made it! :thumbsup2 I followed your last trip report and am looking forward to the PTR then your TR. We leave in 42 days and we will be staying a whole week @ POR!!! :cool1: We have arrival day ADR's are Boatwright's, our first time there. I will vote for Boatwright's so that I can read your review and see food porn pics from there. :lmao:

Yay, so glad I found this ptr!!!

Sounds like a fun day. Chef Mickey's will be tons of fun and so will mini golf.

Dinner vote? That's tough! If there's no wait I think Beaches n Cream will be fun. I've never eaten there or Boatwrights so both would be a good choice.

But I need one vote - right?

Well, I'm probably going out on a limb here, but I've heard that Blue Zoo has amazing crab nachos at the bar. I'm not sure if you or your mom like crabs or can eat them, but I have decided that Denny and I are going to head over there this summer for a little happy hour and crab nachos.

So - my first vote is Blue Zoo for crab nachos (if you guys like that kind of stuff). My backup vote is Beaches and Cream.

:rolleyes1
You know we wish you were going to be there :)

Caitlin is determined to share a drink with you in 2013! Will Jasmine be 21 by then?

I do know that and thank you:hug:

I cannot wait to share a drink with my other favorite girl! No, unfortunately, she won't turn 21 until October:confused3

Whoops missed an update as I was posting....so here goes!

Beignets look delicious...never had them on the list for whenever we stay at POR!

Chef Mickey's...never been, can't wait to here your report! I remember when you said putt putt when we were all sitting down and I gave you that vacant stare and you came back with mini golf LOL

Beaches and Cream for sure .... hands down....Jasmine loves the No Way Jose.....if you like peanut buttery stuff which I don't!

I'm definitely going to vote for Beaches and Cream. One of my favorites on property.

Blue Zoo sounds really good! That vote totally counts! We both enjoy crab and I saw on your TR how good the drinks can be there :thumbsup2

I can't vote sens I have not heard of any of your choices but good luck deciding

Thank you!

:rolleyes1

We have been but not in a long time so I am excited! Yeah I have gotten questions on our TRs about it too!

Mmm good choice! I might have to try that!

I'm definitely going to vote for Beaches and Cream. One of my favorites on property.

Thank you for your vote!

Sounds like a good day. As for dinner I guess it depends what you feel like. A quick dinner: I'd say ESPN. It's fun, lively and will get you in the mood for the race. If you'd rather have an easy dinner I'd say Boatwrights because you'll already be at your resort. Won't have to travel. But if you want a nice, leisurely dinner I'd say Il Mulino in the Swan.

If I had to pick one...I'd say Il Mulino. We went there in December and it was delicious! It's an Italian restaurant. Very good, and I loved that you were able to have half portions. Perfect! Still was plenty big. And, at the end we got complimentary limoncellos. Yum! Very strong, they will warm you up haha. And, sometimes on restaurant.com you can get a gift certificate for there. :)

Good luck with your decision! It's so hard to pick just one!

I vote for Boatwrights! We ate there before and enjoyed it a lot!

Your day's plans seem nice...kind of laid back! I hope your mom is able to particiapate in the race!

Oh yeah...it is putt-putt in the south too! :rotfl:

All great choices! We will be eating Italian later in the week though so Italian twice might be a bit much :confused3 The limoncello sounds good though!

Yep we wanted to rest the day before the race since we didn't last time and paid for it

Awesome! We have gotten some comments about it on previous TRs

OH HELLO! I have never read a PTR before but I'm excited for this one!
I love the title. Definitely accurate! I hope this trip is everything you're hoping for and more! :goodvibes

Hi! Thank you for joining us!

Thank you! We are both hoping it will be too! :cutie:

Ready? Ok here are your choices:

At the 50's:
Dad's Electric Lemonade:Bacardi Rum, Skyy Vodka, Blue Curacao, Sweet and Sour Mix and Sprite
OR
Mowie Wowie: Malibu Rum, Melon Liquer, Peach Schnapps, oj & pineapple juice

At POR:
Mango Mint Champagne: Mango puree, fresh mint. cordon rouge & Brut Champagne
OR
The Southern Belle: Southern Comfort, Peach Schnapps & cranberry juice

So let us know which of those 4 beverages should get the distinction of being Caitlin's first Disney World adult beverage :goodvibes

Dawn & Caitlin, your trip sounds great. Dawn I hope you are feeling up to the run & the cough clears up.

I see I missed the voting, but was going to vote for the Mowie Wowie...though maybe a splurge later at the resort and share the mango mint champage while you are enjoying the music.

Well, there is only ONE way to increase Caitlin's tolerance to alcohol and that is to DRINK UP! So I pick dad's lemonade or whatever that first drink was called. That sounds fantastic and it has two types of alcohol in it, plus its blue. In fact, that sounds so good I am totally getting one of those in June. :rotfl:

Woo hoo for 1 month to go! :cool1: I love POR! :goodvibes

I like how you think Mary Ellen!!!

I have a funny story about that "Dad's Lemonade". When we went last August Dale had 2 of those at lunch and was feeling really good by the time we left  Well we had dinner that night at The Brown Derby and the lemonade still hadn't worn off and he ordered their beer flight. Let's just say he was feeling REALLY REALLY GOOD. Well a waiter walked by carrying some entree and Dale very loudly and very seriously says "Did someone order a deep fried Hamster?" :rotfl2: We all just cracked up and created quite a scene. I think we are now banned from the Brown Derby

OMG So funny! you had to be splitting your sides laughing!

We've never gone mini golfing at disney so I am looking forward to some photos!

If you find yourself at the Boardwalk and want a delicious & relaxing meal, go to Cat Cora's. The menu is wonderful and there are several dishes that can be shared. I don't remember the portions being huge, but rather just right. I've not been to any of the other restaurants, so I can't comment though i have heard good things about Beaches & Cream, and the restaurant MEK suggested sounds yummy. Is that at POR or at BC/BW?

I like how you think Mary Ellen!!!

It is a good idea but I am known for posing for odd pictures after I have a drink so who knows what will happen at Disney

OMG So funny! you had to be splitting your sides laughing!

We were! That meal was the most memorable from our trip :cutie:

We will definitely oblige!

We have eaten and Kouzzina before and my mom hated it :guilty: She isn't adventurous when it comes to food and the greek salad was not what she expected it to be. I think we are leaning towards Beaches and Cream between voting and our personal tastes. The restaurant MEK mentioned is in the Swan/Dolphin hotel area. I agree it does sound good!
