It's a World of Laughter a World of Tears A World of Hope & a World of Fears New 2/18

I forgot about that! Better save up a little extra spending money for that! :rotfl: Well you know that I totally recommend any rita from the Ditch because its like getting two drinks in one! :rotfl:

Oh I have saved up a lot of money :thumbsup2 Although I can only do about a drink a day  We will be sharing our plans soon but we won't be going to the Ditch on this trip. I want my first time there to be with my dad but we will be going to somewhere that serves the Ditch's margaritas :thumbsup2

This reminds me that I want to try a margarita from the Ditch on our trip in December! I've heard so many good things about it!

I'm in! I love my trips with my mom, and you and your mom mirror my relationship with my mom! :goodvibes Yay for being 21...that will be fun! Are you a beer drinker or more of a mixed drink fan? I usually stick with rum and coke so I'm kind of boring but I do love the margaritas in the ditch! Also, be sure to stop in the Pub in England...so fun!

Welcome!!!

Yep my mom and I are bffs! We have been on girls only trips but this will be our first time going just the two of us! We are excited because we move a lot faster than the rest of our family  Although taking pictures slows me down a bit

I am so excited! I am both although beer tends to make me sleepy  I am planning on sticking to mixed drinks this trip since I have heard so much about so many through the DIS and our trips with my dad  Oh I love rum and coke! I plan on having a margarita and I think we may have an ADR at Rose and Crown :confused3 We change them around so often I can't remember

How in heaven's name did I miss this??? I am a bad bad friend....but I'm here now ladies and you know how much I love your TR's! It is easy to miss PTR I know I don't usually go over to this board  So glad you are joining us!

It would be awesome if you and Jas were going at the same time but we definitely will be going at the same time in 2013 :yay:

We are so excited! After everything that has happened it will be nice to get away and relax!

Sounds good! My mom and I are going in May; it'll be our 4th mother daughter trip. You'll love it! Mom and I are also faster than the rest of our family. So we usually get more done, but we also love to relax and hang out. You'll love trying the different mixed drinks. My favorites are Peach Snap in China and the Grey Goose slushie in France. Yum! Wish I was there now instead of looking out my window at snow! :scared1: I never did Rose and Crown before but I love all things British. :lovestruc

Hi Gang!! I'm so glad you're all joining us on another adventure! Thanks for the "get well" wishes! I am improving but the cough is lingering and I still don't have my energy level back. Once I stop getting winded so easily I will be getting back to the gym for our 5K training.

Today is exactly one month until our Mother/Daughter trip  so we figured we should really get this ptr going and let you in on our Day1 plans.

We fly out of Detroit Metro at 11:30 and arrive at MCO around 2pm. I wish we had an earlier flight but this was the cheapest, earliest direct flight we could get. Once we arrive at MCO we will hightail it the ME area (hopefully we won't get turned around and end up lost like we did last May ) and before we know it our Magical Coach will transport us to Louisiana and the Port Orleans Riverside Resort.

We will spend our first 2 nights at POR and then after the race we switch over to Pop. We decided on this for a couple reasons. Our last 3 WDW vacations have been split stays and we really enjoy that. It's like having 2 vacations in 1! Secondly, when you do a race only certain hotels provided transportation to and from the race and the race registration. The value for the race was one of the All Stars and we didn't really want to stay there again so we decided to stay at a Moderate and POR was the race moderate. I was really hoping to score one of the new "Royal" rooms but they have been delayed and won't be done before our visit. I am hoping to get one of the refurbed rooms though.

Once we've checked into Por and gotten settled we'll hop on a bus for

disneysummerday5014.jpg

Yep! Disney's Hollywood Studios!

We have a 5:30 dinner reservation at
disneysummerday5070.jpg

and Caitlin just might order her very first Disney "adult" beverage from
disneysummerday5069.jpg

We already have our entree selected. We love the fried chicken here and since we are not big eaters this meal is perfect for us to share! It comes with 3 or 4 pieces of chicken and 2 veggies. We get 2 orders of mashed potatoes and then split the chicken. It's so yummy and a great value if you're not on the dining plan :thumbsup2
As you can see I borrowed this pic from the Disney Food Blog

MMMMMMMMM! Doesn't that look good!!

After joining the Clean Plate Club we hope to go over and enjoy Fantasmic! If it looks too crowded we'll check out Mulch, Sweat and Shears or the American Idol Finale. We want to just take it easy and just soak in some of the Disney atmosphere.

The park closes early so we'll take the bus back to POR and then go over and check out the Yeehah Bob Show. We've stayed at POR several times and never managed to catch his show so this is on our "must do" list. (We have seen Elliot Dison over at POFQ and loved him!)

So that's our plan for the first day. Now I need your help! As Caitlin has mentioned this is her first visit to WDW after turning 21. Suddenly all these new beverages are available to her and she wants you to help her decide what to drink. Think of it as a drinking game where only she gets to drink  The problem is she's a little bitty thing (around 100 pounds) so she can really only have one drink a day so she wants to make sure she selects wisely! So for each of our days we'll post her top 4 choices for her "Drink of the Day" and we want you to vote for your favorite. If you haven't had them chose what you think sounds best :)

Ready? Ok here are your choices:

At the 50's:
Dad's Electric Lemonade:Bacardi Rum, Skyy Vodka, Blue Curacao, Sweet and Sour Mix and Sprite
OR
Mowie Wowie: Malibu Rum, Melon Liquer, Peach Schnapps, oj & pineapple juice

At POR:
Mango Mint Champagne: Mango puree, fresh mint. cordon rouge & Brut Champagne
OR
The Southern Belle: Southern Comfort, Peach Schnapps & cranberry juice

So let us know which of those 4 beverages should get the distinction of being Caitlin's first Disney World adult beverage :goodvibes

Aw I can't wait to read your TR! I will miss going in May and the Flower and Garden fest so take tons of pics!

Both of those will be contestants in our Epcot day voting

I am so sick of the cold I can't wait for Disney!!!

I guess we aren't going there  but it is nice!

At the 50's prime time I would try the sweet and sour sprite thing
At Mowie Wowie Malibu Rum

Good luck with the drink choices

Yay! I'm joining in now that the boards are running a bit more normally again. I was having major issues the past few days with it running so slow so I haven't been able to sub to your PTR, and then I was glued to the tv yesterday for football, so I'm finally here!

That fried chicken looks sooooooo good! Yum. What a good idea to split it!

As for the drinks portion - I may not be the best person to help out with that. I can imagine that Caitlin's tolerance is not too far from mine, but she is super itty bitty. I do remember that for Epcot, I would split drinks with my friend so that I could taste wine from every country. I would not make it if I had a full drink myself.

Your day 1 plans sound great!

I love 50's Prime Time... such a fun restaurant to go to on your first night! :thumbsup2

I would totally do the Mowie Wowie! YUMMMM!
