It's a Small World - you go down a ramp into a boat on water - travel through many lands with the same song ringing in your head.

Does the boat actually run 'underground' - beneath the normal level where people walk ?

Just wondering ?

Thanks

In case you want to hum along with my question ...
It's a world of laughter
A world of tears
It's a world of hopes
And a world of fears
There's so much that we share
That it's time we're aware
It's a small world after all

There is just one moon
And one golden sun
And a smile means
Friendship to every one
Though the mountains divide
And the oceans are wide
It's a small world after all

It's a small world after
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world

It's a Small World goes underneath the Pinocchio's Village Haus resteraunt. You can look down on the ride from the windows of the resteraunt. It's a nice place to eat lunch and watch the ride go by.

huh, I always thought it was "though the mountains are high" --sort of goes better with "and the oceans are wide"

Sort of. Think of the Magic Kingdom as being a three story facility. At the ground level (although they seem underground), there are the utilidors which are hallways Cast Members use to navigate through the MK. There are also a bunch of other things down there, but that's a whole thread.

On the second floor, most of the Magic Kingdom park (where guests walk and enjoy attractions) exsits. But, Fantasyland sits on the third floor.

You can visualize this - as you walk from the edge of the Seven Seas Lagoon (where the Polynesian/Grand Floridian boat drops you off) you go uphill as you approach the MK gates. This walk takes you from ground level to the second floor. Then, any way that you get to Fantasyland (either up through the castle, up either hill next to the castle, up the hill adjacent to the Mad Tea Party, or up the hill from the Haunted Mansion to It's a Small World) you are climbing from the second to the third floor.

Very good (and accurate!) description!

I never did realize how MK is setup.
Thank for all the information.
In 2006 - we'll take note of what 'floor' we are on.

Our kids are not all old enough for the tour which goes below the main area of MK - "Kingdom Key" tour ?

My teen DS really wants to do the tour - but has to wait for siblings to get older. We always do everything as a family at WDW - OHANA ! :grouphug:

Thanks again for the sneak peek of how MK is set up. :goodvibes

That was very interesting, thank you for taking the time to explain. :)
