Just heard that Robert Sherman passed away. Another true Disney legend who helped create so many timeless and legendary songs! Even if you have never been to a Disney park, odds are you have heard "It's a Small World". Parks aside, who hasn't heard Winnie the Pooh or Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

My heart is heavy and sad that someone who had such an impact in our world and helped create some of the magic of our Disney lives is gone.

Thank you Mr. Sherman!!!!

Sorry to lose him, but glad he had been recognized for his accomplishments over the last few years.

Their legacy of music will continue to fill the world with joy and laughter.

RIP Robert Sherman

Farewell, Mr. Sherman. Thank you for the hundreds of wonderful songs that so greatly affected my childhood, and now my adult life.
:sad1:

Talk about someone who wrote the soundtrack of my childhood...

We've lost a giant. :sad1:

I was so saddened to hear of his passing. Thank you to him for sharing his creative gift with his brother and with us for all these years. My condolences to his family and friends. :grouphug:

"It's A Small World" creator Robert Sherman has passed. What a wonderful legacy of joy and laughter! Thank you, Mr. Sherman for your life and contributions!

Very sad news. RIP Mr. Sherman

It's amazing how many of his creations live on every day in the parks. His legacy won't be forgotten. Reading the articles on him I hadn't even realized that the Sherman brothers had been responsible for (my favorite ride) the one little spark song from Figment.

Sad to hear this news. He made a lot of great Disney music along with his brother that will go on forever!

"Outside the motion-picture realm, their Tony Award-nominated smash hit Over Here! (1974) was the biggest-grossing original Broadway musical of that year. The Sherman Brothers have also written numerous top selling songs including "You're Sixteen," which reached Billboard's Hot 100 top 10 twice: first with Johnny Burnette in 1960 and then at #1 with Ringo Starr more than thirteen years later. Other top-ten hits include "Pineapple Princess," "Let's Get Together," and more"

Robert Sherman has died March 6,2012. Thanks for all the great songs. "Its a Small World".

Sherman, who died in London at age 86, Robert Sherman and his brother Richard composed scores for films including "The Jungle Book," "The Aristocats," "Mary Poppins" and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang." They also wrote the most-played tune on Earth, "It's a Small World (After All)."

Rode ISMW today at DL and thought of Robert as we were riding. Such a great legacy....

Brings a tear to my eye. Both are such amazing song writers.

Be sure to watch "The Boys" on Netflix if you get a chance.
