Its a Small World After All...... DCL Fantasy Nov. 9th-16th 2013 ( Kids/Teens)

Hi Sarah,
How are you? I am good. I had a great time at Disney Land. My favorite rides are Goofy's Sky School, California Screamin', Radiator Spring Racers, and It's a Small World. I didn't really see any movies. We stayed at residence inn resort main gate. We went to the parks for four days. What are your favorite songs? Mine are I'm Watching You, Son of Man, Strangers like me, and You'll be in my heart.

Hey Adriane!

How is everything? I'm sorry I haven't sent you any messages for a while, I had a lot of studying to do before my SOLs. In my English class we are doing a project on reading one of four books: Fast Food Nation, The Hound of Baskervilles, Freakonomics, and Tom Sawyer. I'm reading Freakonomics, but it makes almost no sense. The books about stuff like: What do school teachers and sumo wrestlers have in common. It's really weird! Basically, for the project, we have to answer a number of questions for each chapter to complete the study guide and then once we're done reading the books we will take a test on them. I have never read Great Expectations before; is it good? The cicadas are pretty bad down here and are supposed to stay out for another 4 weeks. I'm not sure what I want my pirate costume to look like, but I want gloves with it; the gloves where your fingers aren't covered. I have seen Camp Rock and High School Musical and I love the songs, too. I really want to go see Monsters University because it looks like a very funny movie. I know about the Finding Dori movie that will be coming out and am eagerly awaiting the moment when it hits theaters. I can't wait for this cruise and to meet you!

Hey Emily! :wave2:
How are you? I am good. Sorry I didn't write back sooner, but we just got back from California/Disneyland 1 week ago and it was so much fun!! :woohoo: :cheer2::banana: We drove out there and even went to Snow Canyon State Park in Utah for a day. We had to do something similar to your book thing this year too;we were divided into groups and had to read a book and be assigned a book club role each week. We read the Hobbit, it was ok, but kinda confusing. That book does sound interesting:upsidedow, how did it turn out in the end? Any better? Well, we didn't actually read Great Expectations, only parts and watched the movie, it was kinda confusing.......:scratchin Have you ordered your pirate costume yet? If so, what does it look like? How has your summer been going? My summer has been fairly good, although I have only been home one week!:rotfl2: I biked 10 miles with my cousin one day, ( but then she broke her wrist on the way home:sad1:)went to a family reunion, and then a potluck. What's the weather like where you live? It is sooooo rainy here!!!:scared1: Last year, we had a huge drought and now it is flooding everywhere, but not as bad as 2008, now that was bad! Right now here, though, we have been getting rain every day, and a couple of roads near us are closed and this one bridge that I just rode over with my bike last week, is now overflooded by a ton and its a small creek!!!:scared1:
I can't wait to meet you and for this cruise!! :grouphug:

Hey Adriane!
How are you? I'm doing well. I'm really sorry I haven't sent you a message for awhile; I've been busy exercising and searching stuff for my pirate costume online. I have managed to find a costume and we ordered it today. The costume is in two pieces; the top is a plain white shirt and has a blue velvet covering with gold buttons that looks almost like a jacket but isn't and the pants are the same as the covering, except without the buttons. When the costume comes in I'm really hoping it will fit because it only comes in one size and my measurements are smaller than the measurements for the costume and if it doesn't fit I'll have to find a new costume. The book I was reading in class didn't turn out any better; it actually became more nerve-wracking the farther I read. Down here, the weather has been pretty gloomy. We've had multiple showers per day over the past week and is supposed to last all this week, too. My summer has been going well so far. The weekend school let out we went and saw Epic; it was a great movie. During the first full week of summer, my sister and I went to a Girl Scout camp and me and one of our fellow troop members, Cori, were in charge of the Arts-and-Crafts station. On the Saturday of that same week, my family and I attended my aunts seconded wedding. The wedding was a lot of fun and we got to see some of the family members we hadn't visited in a long time. I'm really looking forward to meeting you and for this cruise!

Hey Emily! :wave2:
How are you? I am doing pretty good. :) Oh, its ok you didn't write right away, I completely understand. :flower3: Your costume sounds pretty neat! :cheer2: That's too bad about the book; I hate it when we have to read books that aren't any fun. :( Yeah, our weather has been fairly wet here too, its actually swept some of the mosquitoes away! ( yay! :) ), but now its finally not raining as much! :) I almost went to go see Epic, but I decided not too..... what's it about? That must of been fun being in charge of arts and crafts; its so much fun making things! What else did you do at the camp? I'm going to be going on a mission trip here pretty soon too; I'm hoping to be in charge of playing with the kids. :) :) So if I am not responding next week, that is why.
I can't wait to meet you and for this cruise!!! :grouphug:

Hey Adriane!

How've you been? I'm doing pretty good at the moment. Epic was a really good movie! Basically, it was about these tiny soldiers who live in the forest and protect it from these gruesome creatures called Boggans, who want to turn the forest into a wasteland. When the queen goes to choose a bud from this special pond, that will bestow power to the new queen when it blooms in the light of the moon, the Leafmen get ambushed and the queen dies. MK, the daughter of a 'crazed' man who all his life has believed that there are tiny people who protect the forest, witnesses the queen's death and when she grabs hold of the pod she shrinks. MK teams up with Ronin, the leader of the Leafmen, Nod, an independent soldier, Mub, a slug, and Grub, a snail, to protect the pod from the Boggans and find a way to get back to her dad. Overall, the movie was well made and I believe they should make a sequel. The other activities I did at the camp were the water games on the last day. Since I was in charge of Arts-&-Crafts I had to stay at that station all day. I've been really lucky lately because last Thursday I got to go see Turbo with my dad, and the day after my sister and I had a sleep-over at our friend's house and she took us to see Monster's University and we had a late-night swim at the local pool. Plus, tomorrow I'm going to see Despicable Me 2 with my mom, dad, and three sisters. Next week my sister and I will both be going to a week-long, over-night Girl Scout camp, so I won't be able to send you a message the whole week. So, what have you been up to lately? I can't wait to meet and for this cruise!

Hey Adriane!

It's okay that your going on a different cruise. At first I was really upset because you had to switch cruises, but my mom said that she is going try to arrange a meeting of our two families next year at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The reason for this is because that October when your family goes on that cruise they have been planning we will be staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge that same week for a week-long trip to Disney World. Your mom, also, asked my mom to notify her when ever we book a cruise or a trip to Disney World so that she can try to book the same thing. It's really alright that we won't meet each other on the cruise, but I would still like to chat and learn more about you. I can't wait to meet you and hope to hear from you soon!

Hey Adriane!

How are you? I'm doing good. Yesterday we went to see Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. It was amazing! I can't wait for the next movie in the series to come out. Last week, my dad took my sister and I up to Buffalo to visit his parents. We headed up there on Monday and came back on Friday. I start school the same day as you do. This will be my first year of High School and I'm really excited. Recently, with my art, I've been trying to draw cats because I created my own Warrior clans based off the book series. I've been working on creating a new style of my art that looks pretty realistic, but still has that anime sort of look to it. At the moment I'm not reading any of the books, but will start up again once school starts. I'm glad that I still can talk to you and can't wait to meet you in person!

Hi Emily! :wave2:
How are you? I am good. :) What is Percy Jackson about? That must of been fun! What did you all do at your grandparent's house? :cheer2: This weekend we have our 4-H fair and I am showing my ceramics, photos, drawing, and latch hook pillow! :thumbsup2 Who is all in your Warriors Clan? I just finished BlueStar's Prophecy and I am now enjoying how I know the backgrounds of each cat and seeing how the next series plays out! What does your new style look like? That is neat! You could sell the drawings in your magna business!!:cool1: Write soon! :)

Hey Adriane!

How've you been? I just got back from the movie theater. My sisters went to see 1Direction and I got to watch Planes. It was a really good movie! Percy Jackson is about how when gods have kids with humans their offspring are called Half bloods. Percy Jackson is the son of Poseidon and he is taken to train with other Half bloods at Camp Half blood. The movies are based of the Percy Jackson book series, but the first movie was completely different then the book. Thankfully, there was only one thing from the second book that wasn't in the second movie. They are very well made movies and you should watch them sometime. At my grandparent's house we didn't do a lot, besides watching one of my cousin's soccer games, visiting our other family members, and going to restaurants that are exclusive to Buffalo. My six Warrior clans are CometClan, SpiritClan, MirageClan, DawnClan, DuskClan, and AuroraClan. The new art style I've been working on is for drawing animals. I want the animals to look pretty realistic, but still have a cartoonish look to it. I can't wait to hear from you again and hope to soon!

How are you? I am doing well. :) Sorry I didn't write sooner, I have been so busy with homework and other small projects, sorry. I actually went to go see Planes a few weeks ago too, it was pretty good, but I think Cars is way better! Those sound like neat warrior clans. I just started the sight for the Power of Three warriors series. Its so good! I've also read basically all of the special editions. Its so neat seeing how they all intertwine. I'm always going, "Oh yeah, she's related to so and so and oh yeah, he was this, etc." :) Like the medicine cats for example: from Goosefeather to Spottedleaf to Yellowfang to Cinderpelt to Leafpool and then :) I hope you are having a good school year! What have you all done recently?

Hello Adriane,

How are you doing? We just got off our cruise 2 weeks ago and I had a fantastic time. Some of the things I enjoyed about the cruise were the dining, the shows, the TEEN club, and all the different activities on board. I participated in the Zombified activity. I got one of the lead roles and was killed by the zombies in the movie. There were several variety acts on board but my favorite was "Bucket and Boards". They were hillarious. Did you get to see them on your cruise? I loved the Aqua Duck and rode it severals times. Did you get a chance to ride it this time? I attended several art classes in the D Lounge throughout the week and really enjoyed them.:artist: The Main Server we had in the Dining Rooms was "I Made" from Indonesia and he was alot of fun and he showed me how to make several origami boxes. "I Made" never stopped smiling and spent alot of time making sure me and my sisters were having a great time during dinners. I hope your servers were as entertaining as he was. I got to see the premier of Thor the Dark World on board twice in the same day. I really liked that movie so I could not resist seeing it twice. The Disney Movie "Frozen" premiered on your cruise. Did you get to see it? Did you get a photo with Princess Anna from the movie? I read that she was making an appearance on the Disney Fantasy the day the movie premiered. My family did an Dolphin Excursion in Cozumel that was way cool.:cool1: I got to ride on the dolphin's belly, dance with it, give it a kiss, and spend time petting it. We were suppose to go parasailing on Castaway Cay but the excursion got canceled including all the other water excursions (even though it was a beautiful weather day on the island). Mom and Dad promise we can do it again on our next cruise. Since we couldn't go parasailing on Castaway Cay, I did the Extremem Teen Excursion that included biking, kayaking and scuba diving. I really enjoyed that. My favorite show of the cruise was Disney Wishes. What was your favorite show? I found the special Mickey Shaped pretzels at the Flos Cafe that they only make once or twice during each 7-Day cruise and I (being such a wonderful daughter - Hee Hee) brought some back to the stateroom to share with my family. I was sad to leave the ship and cannot wait until out next cruise in November of 2015. Hope you had a great time and can't wait to hear back from you.

Hey Emily!
How are you doing? It sounds like you had a great cruise!! I just got off of my cruise yesterday. It was a 5 night on the magic over thanksgiving! I was in zombified too- I was one of the zombies! I got killed by the zombies when I was a pool girl in January though. Buckets and boards was not on my cruise but I did go to a magic show and it was ok. I also went to Disney dreams, the magic goes on ( its basically the history of the Walt Disney company but it is good) and I also went to twice charmed. No the aqueduck was not on this cruise but the aquedunk was. I did not go on that either because it looked scary but my brother did. I did go on the twist n spout though and it is great! They changed it so that anyone can ride it and every time I went on it there was always an adult waiting in line. It replaced the mickey slide and it is way better it can be both fast and slow depending on how you sit and it is huge. The aqua lab is also cool, I went with my 3 year old brother and it was fun! Our servers were Noel from india and irma from Montenegro, they were both great and Noel showed us quite a few brain teasers and also made my sister and I origami flowers, but sadly, mine broke. Yes I went to see frozen on the night it premiered, for an hour , with my little brother and then I saw the rest on a different day, it was amazing!! I would have stayed the whole time the 1st day but it was at midnight and was 2 hours long and we had to turn our clocks ahead that night! princess Anna was not on this cruise but I wish I could have seen her! I saw about every character this cruise which is a first for me and I also got to see a few a couple of times.... The only one I never got a chance to see was jack sparrow. Thor was playing on this cruise as well but I never went to it. The Christmas decorations were so cool on the cruise it was so pretty! Did they have a deck party on your cruise? They did on ours but they didn't do much so I didn't stay for the whole thing. How did you enjoy the vibe? I went to it a few times for the scavenger hunts and crafts and one time even won a free dcl bag! That sounds like fun excursions! We went to a beach in Cozumel and went biking and played in the sand at castaway cay ! All of the excursions got cancelled at castaway for us too we barely even made it in- we actually got an extra thirty minutes to stay on the island because it took so long to get on. The day was beautiful at castaway though minus the wind but it was so warm this whole cruise!! They were telling us that castaways was 7o and on that day it was 45 in Orlando and 53 in Miami that morning .it was pretty rainy every now and then on this cruise one time, I went on deck and I got kinda soaked even though i tried to stay under the roofs and the deck was covered in about 1-2 inches of water in some places! I never knew about the pretzels. We go on our next cruise in October 2014 and I can't wait!! Dd you have a good thanksgiving?? We were on the cruise and so we got to have a special dinner. We right now our actually on our way driving back home and we finally get back home tomorrow. I wish it was last week again!!

Hey Adriane,

I am glad to hear you had such a good time on the Disney Magic. I hope one day to get to go on that one. Sorry you did not get to try out the Aquadunk. If I had been on that cruise with you, I would have tried it. You said your brother went on it. Did he like it? I had alot of fun making Zombified and we had to retake scenes many times because all of us kept laughing so much. It is cool that you got to see Frozen on board the ship. I am seeing it this Sunday with my family. You said you did not get to watch Thor, The Dark World on the ship. I would recommend you see it because it was awesome. I saw it twice while on-board. Did you dress up on pirate night? My whole family did. It was alot of fun. We got great photos in our costumes. Which restuarant did you like the best? My favorite was Animators Palate. On the 2nd night in that restaurant we all got to draw characters that were later animated on the screens in the restaurant. My character was a cat and it must have been really good because it was chosen to be the 1st character that came out during the show and it danced with Mickey Mouse. Did you try any of the ice cream on board? My favorite flavor was chocolate/vanilla swirl. We ate in the buffet for breakfast every morning. They really have alot of choices. I loved the donuts and bagels. We had photos taken with Mickey Mouse, TinkerBell, Peter Pan, Captain Jack Sparrow, Minnie Mouse, Ariel and Belle. Did you get any photos made with characters? Captain Jack Sparrow was my favorite. I have finally caught up on the school work I missed while I was on the cruise. Have you caught up yet? We had two snow days this week which was great. Has it been snowing where you live too? Well, it is time to head to school. I will email you again soon.

Oh yes, we tried the ice cream and it was great! I had vanilla, pineapple-coconut, blueberry and there was also chocolate; they were all so yummy!!!:hyper: Yes, we took photos with all of the characters we saw. :) Yes it has snowed where we live, right now, my siblings have a cancelled school day because it is so cold (-2), we've had a couple of those days because of -50 windchills and then next week, it is a high of -7 one day. :cold: How has school been going? I actually just started homeschooling on Tuesday to give it a try, and I am actually really liking it! I saw your picture, it looks like you had a fun trip! :thumbsup2 We are actually going to Disney World at the end of March!!! :)

Hello Adriane,
How are you doing? :wave2: I am glad to be hearing from you. I was out of school all last week due to a snow storm that "hit" our area last Monday night. Because of all the time out of school, our school Mid-Term exams were canceled. Yeah  No studying. I already had an all "A" average in all my classes anyway so I did not need to take the exams to help my grades. I saw the movie "Hunger Games - Catching Fire" on Saturday. It was an amazing movie. Have you seen it yet? After seeing the movie "Frozen", my two favorite Disney Princesses are now Anna and Elsa. What are your favorite princesses? My Dad got one of my sisters and me an X-Box 360 with Kinnect as a surprise. It is alot of fun playing it although learning how to play the Kinnect is a little difficult. Do you know who "Toothless" is from the movie "How to Train Your Dragon"? Well, I want to begin building a robot replica of him starting this summer. I have always wanted to own a dragon -they are cool. At least with a robot replica, I can own a dragon even though they are not real and I cannot own one in real life. You said you just started getting home schooled. How is that different from going to regular school? Are you still enjoying it? Do you think your siblings will want to be home schooled too? I know you are going to Disneyworld in March I believe. Hope you have a great time and that I hear back from you soon.

Hey Emily! :wave2:
I am doing great, thanks for asking! :) How are you? You are so lucky your exams were cancelled and that you got a week off of school! Do you have to make up any days at the end of the year? My brothers and sister have off both today and tomorrow as it is a high of -5 with windchills in the -30s!!! :cold: No, I have not seen that yet but I want to really bad! :hyper: I love frozen! :thumbsup2 That sounds like fun! 2 Disney Cruises ago, when I was on the Fantasy, they had a Disneyland Kinnect game and it was so cool! I only got to watch it, but basically, they got to move through the whole park, see characters and interact with them, etc.:tinker: I have never seen the movie but I looked him up, he looks pretty cute. :) Homeschooling is going pretty good, I miss seeing my friends everyday, but I really like the flexibility in how you learn what you want and when you want to learn it, for example, I get to sleep in and then do some work throughout the day on my own schedule. I think I'm going to love having no homework now when I go on vacation! pixiedust: My sister was thinking about homeschooling but Im not sure she is actually going to. Yes, we leave for Disneyworld in 51 days! I can't wait!!! Any tips?
Have a great day!

Hey Adriane!
How are you doing? I'm good at the moment. Sorry I haven't sent you any messages for a long time. I've been busy with new classes and have been getting a lot of homework. How is homeschooling? I wouldn't be able to because I'd miss seeing my friends every day. The other day, my mom showed me this video on Facebook. Do you know the professor from the movie Back to the Future? Well, this company got him to advertise their new product - a real hover board. It was so cool! All they had to do was push a button on the controller and the board lifted a good couple feet into the air. Later that day, my sister found out that they only cost $140! I didn't expect the price to be so low, but I'm still happy about it. Ever since, we have been begging for our parents to buy each of us one when they come out at the end of the year. What have you been up to lately? A couple weeks ago, my sister, Abby, and I participated in a Girl Scout event called Thinking Day. The theme this year was countries and my troop decided to do a country no one else would think of - Liechtenstein. We made a plasterboard about the country and even made their national dish - Kasenoffle. I'm not sure if I spelled it right, but it is basically German mac-n-cheese with caramelized onions and usually comes with a side of applesauce. Your so lucky to get to go to Disney World in a couple weeks. I wish I could go to Disney too, but my trip isn't until October. I know almost everything there is to know about the parks. When you go, you need to check out the following attractions:
Magic Kingdom:
Tomorrowland - Astor Orbiter, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, & Space Mountain
Frontierland - Big Thunder Mountain Railroad & Splash Mountain
Adventureland - Jungle Cruise, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, & Pirates of the Caribbean
Fantasyland - The Barnstormer, Dumbo, It's A Small World, Mad Tea Party, Mickey's PhilharMagic, Peter Pan's Flight, Carrousel, & Journey of the Little Mermaid
Liberty Square - Haunted Mansion
Epcot:
Future World - Sum of All Thrills ( Innoventions East), Living with the Land, Mission: SPACE, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, Soarin', Spaceship Earth, Test Track, & Turtle Talk with Crush
Hollywood Studios:
Sunset Boulevard - Rock' n' Roller Coaster & Tower of Terror
Echo Lake - Star Tours (aka best ride at Disney World)
Pixar Place - Toy Story Mania
Animal Kingdom:
Asia - Expedition Everest & Kali River Rapids
Dinoland USA - Primeval Whirl
Africa - Kilimanjaro Safaris
These are many of the most thrilling, fun, and classical Disney rides. I hope you have a fun trip and can't wait to hear from you again!

Your Disney Friend,
Emily
