We leave Monday Sept 28 for 10 days. We have been able to keep it a secret from our girls DD11, DD8 since June. Unbelieveable b/c we talk about Disney ALL the time.

We plan to tell them Monday that we have to take Grandma to the airport, telling them we're not sure where she's going. We leave before school starts, claiming we'll be back in time for them to go.

We'll go over to my mom's and load up her luggage. When they ask or we'll prompt them ot ask Grandma where are you going. She's going to say; "Disney World wanna come?" Then to seal the deal she'll need to give them something, small that she can conceal but Disney somehow to let them know they've been hood-winked and get to go too.

We're sooooooo excited. This will be the 1st time my Mom has gone away with us and her first trip to Disney in probably 25 yrs. Wow!!!

Just wanted to share some pixie dust.:tinker:

There are only a few words that can describe this................

Have a magical time!!

That's so cool!! Have a great trip!!

I can't wait until the day that DD is old enough for a suprise like this! She's 2, so going to the grocery store is a suprise... lol.

I'm so excited for all of you!

I pulled off a surprise trip once. I work in the travel industry and at the last minute we had some free tickets that were going to expire is no one used them. I ckecked and Orlando was available for my sister's birthday weekend so I booked it. We were car pooling back then so I picked her up from work and started to head home. At a certain point I had to turn the opposite direction from home to head to the airport. She thought I had spaced out and turned the wrong way...until I handed her an envelope with our flight info and hotel reservation! I had packed a bag for her- with about 4 times the clothes she needed since I didn't know what she'd want! It was so much fun for me to see the excitement in her face. I hope it's just as fullfilling for you!

Oh boy, oh boy! I'm so happy for you!

We surprised our kids for their first trip, too. I was a mess. I kept it quiet for almost 2 years. When the day b/f finally came, I was so excited I made myself sick!

I hope you video tape the surprise and post it on Youtube!

Have a magical trip!!

So cool!!! We are also surprising our DD8 with a trip to WDW with family members. My sister, her husband and 3 kids are going the same time we are.

We are telling DD the night before that her dad has to go out of town over night and would she please go get the suitcase on our bed. The suitcase is going to be preloaded with 2 Mickey ears balloons and a YOUR INVITED envelope. My best friend has already loaned us her video camera. I can hardly wait.

To PP...yes her teacher knows and appreciates the fact that we won't tell her until the night before so it won't interrupt her school routine before hand.

Oh my gosh, just like the commercial!
Are you filling the Mickey ears balloons with helium, so they float up when she opens the suitcase? :earsboy:

How exciting and extra special that Grandma is coming to! Have a great trip!! We are leaving tomorrow and my 3.5 year old son has no idea. He knows he is getting a surprise tomorrow and he told me he hopes it is a Zurg toy. When we get to the airport we are going to tell him that the only place to buy one is at WDW and ask him if he wants to go right now! :cool1:

I did this to my kids last year. We kept it a secret for months! Driving the last hour was torture for my youngest as she wanted to go to Disney, not the beach! The look of shock was worth it!

Have you informed the teachers yet, and are they in on the secret too?

Don't be a killjoy. This is a great thing mom is doing. I hope your kids squeal with delight- they will never forget this. I did it with my 3 girls once, they were about 7,9 and 12- you're plan is awesome- I didn't actually get them to the airport before we left, without them knowing.. We were leaving Christmas eve day, so I let them each open one present that day (something I never do, but they would ask EVERY year), but I got to pick the present- so they each opened a new bathing suit! haha. They didn't get it, so I let them each open... a pair of sunglasses... not quite there- ok, so I gave them each a card to open- with their airline tickets! Hooray!!!

Thanks for sharing your magic with us- brings back great memories.

Amazing .... I'm also doing the same thing with my DS8 and DS7. My mom, dad, sister, and brother in law are also coming.

I have it all planned in my head -- I'm going to pick the boys up from school and casually mention that we're meeting everyone for dinner at a local restaurant. Then while we're at the restaurant I'll ask the boys if they want to take a drive to Buffalo and spend the night.

We have an early flight scheduled so when I wake them up in the morning we'll head right to the airport and I'll tell them we're going on an adventure. The boys know about Disneyworld, but they don't know it's in Orlando so I don't think they'll realize exactly where we're going.

I'm really hoping that they don't clue into what's going on until they see the Magical Express buss pull up at Orlando airport. I am so excited to see what they're reaction is going to be.

Good luck with your surprise!!! :mickeyjum

We are surprising our DD's 8 and 6 on Tues. After school I'm are going to pick them up from the bus stop. Then we will have to pick up Dad at work because "His car is broken". I have made up a puzzle for them to figure out (Thanks to someone here on the Dis). They will need to put the 2 puzzles together for it to make any sense. It will say "We are going Disney World tomorrow" then off to the hotel by our airport as our flight leaves at 5:20 am:eek: Their teachers are in on it and are excited for the girls. We will be there in exactly 1 week. I can't wait.:yay::woohoo:

Good for you! We are planning on keeping our First-ever Christmas trip to Disney a secret from the boys this December. Wish us luck!!

Have a great time!!!

This sounds great and a lot of fun. I love surprises. Have a magical trip and I'll be anxious to hear all about it when you get back.
