Its a Love Bugs life at Beach Club & Disney resort , video

Took a little bit to load for me (and I have cable connection), but it did come through. Gross little bugs ! I understand they don't bite or anything though ?
I'll be in WDW next week....better prepare myself..... :rotfl:

Hate to tell you but Love Bugs are a fact of life in the Deep South during Fall and Spring. They swarm from a line at about Montgomery, Al. and Jackson, Ms. and due south. They are a pain to keep off the cars. Their juice will eat the paint off a car if you don't keep it washed during these times. Sorry.

:sad2:

We've traveled to wdw many times in late Oct to mid Nov and never experienced this. Guess we just got lucky ? I heard this is a particularily heavy case this year ?

That's how they were in May...I had never really noticed them on any of my other trips, but I usually go in Aug/Dec. I'm so hoping they're gone by Oct 21..my friend is not going to be amused if she's attacked by these guys.

Yuk! and I thought this thread might have something to do with Herbie...

My understanding is that they are a September thing...most of the time when I have been there in September, I have encountered them. I have been there in early October, and they have never been there then. I think they have a pretty short life span, for the most part.

Boy do they, the first time we encountered these when we drove down I bought a spatula to scrap them off my windshield. I left them on the rest of the car and it did pit the paint...smjj

Hey, just got back after 2 weeks in the world. The cute little buggers aren't nearly as gross as the video makes them look like (they look like they squirm around in the video, but they just sorta walk around and fly around like butterflys). Anyway, they were HORRIBLE 1 week ago. On our last day there, Thursday, they were much lighter and on Friday driving home to Atlanta, we had very few reattack our car. I grew up with the little suckers and they generally have a 2-3 week "hit" and then they disappear. September is love bug season and there is minimal chance you will see any alive next week.

Enjoy! Our vacation was a blast.

Just got back on the 29th and they were still awful. However, several lifeguards informed us that they are only out for 2-4 weeks and it was week 4 of them so it shoudl start to get better. They didn't bite and were more of an annoyance than anything

Got back yesterday (10/8).....the love bugs are still flying around. We had them all over the door of our room every afternoon. We had to shoo them off before we went inside or they'd fly in the room.

Sounds like these bugs like to take advantage of the lower point costs and lower crowds at the world :lmao:

Well, the parks were packed Fri/Sat (Oct 6 & 7), so hopefully the love bugs will begin their departure from WDW ;)
