Hello,
i bought an ITNS-500 Slide Converter to convert my grandpa's slides to jpeg on the computer. well, it installed alright but i get a blue tint on the screen from the backlight which makes my slides all blue on the screen as a result.
I updated the driver as suggested and it fixed it....for a while. Then the converter wouldn't work at all. SOooo. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and updated the drvier (again). It won't make the blue tint go away.... :(.

Is there anybody here that also owns a ITNS-500 Slide Converter by IT?
(i bought it on black friday 2010 from kohls so i can't bring it back.)

I can't help with the converter but you CAN bring it back any time to Kohl's. If you have your receipt they give you what you paid otherwise you get a merchandise credit.

I can't help you either, but, I bought my dad a slide converter from Brookstone for Christmas and he LOVES it. In fact, we thought it would keep him occupied for most of the winter, but I got a call from my mom this week that dad had finished :scared1:

Good luck with yours.

Can I send him MY slides to work on :lmao:

So i found a solution on the internet, tried it but it wouldn't work....at all. I can't find the receipt for the ITNS-500. :(.

I'm planning on scarfing down the $70 and getting to Brookstone today to get the $99.00 converter that got a rating of 4.6/5. Hopefully it will work. :)

Did you use a Kohl's charge card to buy it? They can look up past purchases. They WILL take it back now even without a receipt. I have been watching the prices on those because I was thinking about buying one and the $70 you paid is about as low as they have gone. Kohl's has an anytime return policy. Bring it back, especially since it is defective.

I just bought one of these units yesterday....have not hooked it up yet, has anyone else used one?
I got mine on sale at Kohl's for $49.99, looked like a good deal, but then I find this thread.....
Hope I didn't make a mistake buying it.....

It may be more trouble than you wish to expend, but any jpeg can be adjusted for color balance. Just use your favorite photo program to do it. I'd make suggestions, but I have a Mac. Of course, Photoshop Elements is available on both platforms, and it will work great for you.

I bought this converter at Kohl's as well. Off their clearance shelf + 30% off. So being cheap I thought it was worth the shot. I haven't had the problems with the installation that I'm reading here but I am disappointed with it. The light source is not bright enough and there's no way to change or boost the light bulb. I have to reset my settings every time I turn the thing on. But I have some software from another scanner that I bought that is pretty awesome to adjust colors. The photo only scanner is FlipPal. Old photos will be faded and probably slides as well. I haven't tried negatives yet. I use it for my genealogy documentation.
