Hi all...

We're (me and t'other 1/2) are off for our maiden Orlando trip on 26th April. I've put together a tentative itinery, and I also have a couple of things to ask after this, ok?

Sun 25 April Edinburgh-Gatwick with BA, twilight check-in, stay in Holiday Inn.

Mon 26 April 11.15am flight. Monday pm, getting sorted with Virgin tickets and hotel etc.

Tues 27 April Typhoon Lagoon all day, Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island at night.

Wed 28 April Disney-MGM all day and early evening (until Fantasmic) and then back to hotel to rest.

Thurs 29 April Universal IoA all day, XTrax (80s night!) that night.

Fri 30 April MK all day and into the evening, for Spectromagic (saw it in Paris years ago and loved it soooo much...that manic music!)...then back to hotel to rest.

Sat 01 May Animal Kingdom all day and into the evening, then back to hotel to rest.

Sun 02 May Epcot all day and into evening, then back to hotel to rest.

Mon 03 May Sea World all day and into the evening, then back to hotel to rest.

Tues 04 May Blizzard Beach all day, then Pleasure Island at night.

Wed 05 May Busch Gardens all day and into the evening, then back to hotel to rest.

Thurs 06 May Wet and Wild in the morning, then to Kissimmee in the afternoon to check out Old Town, then back to Pleasure Island at night.

Fri 07 May Kennedy SC all day, then back to hotel to rest.

Sat 08 May Nothing planned here yet.

Sun 09 May Universal Studios all day and into the evening...planned this for as a late as possible to allow for possibility of Revenge of the Mummy to open. Hotel in the evening.

Mon 10 May Shopping in the morning, the home that afternoon:(

Now, I know there's a lot of resting back at the Hotel (Safari), but I would like to ask what things you lot would recommend...any good dinner shows? I know CdS at Pleasure Island is s'posed to be right good, but we are still thinking about that one..so what d'ya think?

I know it is a packed schedule, but this is a once-in-a-very-long-time holiday as we want to see so much of the rest of the world and can't afford to come back year after year. But we are theme park MAD (members of the European Coaster Club an' all) and running round theme parks is our hobby.

So...less than 100 days to go now:hyper:

Hi
Just a couple of small suggestions, you might want to reconsider the tues 04 may pleasure island open untill 2am ish then driving too busch gardens the next day could be hard work, thats assuming you will be driving, it's worth considering the Busch gardens shuttle free with the right ticket.
We would recommend you do Old town on a saturday evening so you can watch the clasic car cruise and it will be much more alive than during the day, some good bars and the locals come out to play.

Wow! Sounds great! I'm exhausted just reading all you have planned!

You may well find that on Sat 1 May you won't need all day at Animal Kingdom, we usually managed to do all we want to do in half a day, plus it generally closes around 5ish so you'll have an extra evening there.

A lot of people here reckon that visiting AK on their first day is a good tip as they are up so early because of the time difference. In that case it may be an idea to swop your first day of Typhoon Lagoon etc with your AK day. Plus that would mean that you'll be raring to go for Pleasure Island in the evening rather than feeling a bit jaded after the flight only the day before.

Have fun! :)

Looks a good ( if tiring :D ) plan. I would agree that there a couple of things you might want to fine tune. I love AK, but because of the show timings it's quite difficult to fit in all the shows in one visit. If you want to see all the shows, I would suggest you consider visiting AK for two mornings and leaving both times about 2-3 in the afternoon and then park hop to Epcot on both occassions. It gives you the same amount of time in both parks, but it's a little easier to get everything done that way.

I also agree that a night at PI, then driving to Busch may be a bit of a struggle, I would swap your days about so that you book a waterpark for the day after PI, it will allow you a little more time in bed that day ( if needed) and it's a more relaxing day if you do feel a little jaded (Although make sure you rehydrate if you've over done it the night before :D) . As you're roller coaster freaks you may find you want to allow a 2nd visit to BG. They have a good selection to enjoy and if it's school break time the queues may slow your plans down a bit.

Hi all...

Thanks for the replies so far.

Couple of things...I followed the book quite closely in determining what days to do things, and my initial thoughts were that TL might be dead busy on a Sat, and that's why I put AK on a Sat and TL on the Tues...anyone any experience here? I think the 'getting up early idea' on the first full day would indeed make AK a good first day.

What are everyone's favourite PI attractions? I really fancy XTRax 'cos I love 70s and 80s stuff, and the t'other 1/2 wants to try the Adventurer's Club...we'll go to both of course, as we have the 10 WP and they're all included...I think one evening we'll be going to DQ as well...

We loved the Comedy Club at Pleasure Island, We went early in the evening as I hear it gets busy later and harder to get in.

Have you thought of trying Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk - It is a duelling piano bar - we love it there :)

I think you are right about avoiding the water parks on a weekend - I image they get very busy with locals :)
