I have to book ADRs this weekend and have been struggling with making a plan. We have a 8 year old girl and almost 5 year old boy. Going for 8 nights in middle of April.
This is what I'm thinking
Saturday: rest day because we get in late Friday night
Sunday: magic kingdom
Monday: blizzard beach
Tuesday: animal kingdom
Wednesday: rest day
Thursday: animal kingdom
Friday magic kingdom

How does that look?
I keep going back and forth between Blizzard Beach and Hollywood studios. Could use any advice please. Also- Is that too much rest? We plan on doing rope drop and resting in afternoons. Would you end the Wednesday rest day early for the MK parade or Fantasmic? Thanks for any help!

I don't think I would rest that first day. Maybe go late but still go. I think Saturdays are not usually good for Magic Kingdom and for me- you have to start there so that could be an issue. But I think leaving the rest for the middle makes more sense.

I wouldn't take a whole day to rest if you are planning on resting in the afternoons.

Unless TOT and RNR are must do's for you I would skip HS.

I would make some time out for Epcot for the Flower and Garden Festival. April is a beautiful time to visit Epcot. Maybe do Epcot for a half day on Wednesday then head to MK in the evening?

Hope this helped! If you need any help with dining I'd be happy to try and help, too.

How does the price of 6 park days compare to 4 plus a water park day? (edit: looks like 6 park days is cheaper unless there's some deal)

I would only do one rest day at most and try to visit all 4 parks. MK for 2 days.

Thank you! It does! We are staying at BLT and your suggestion for Epcot and MK makes sense. Last time we went was 3 years ago and the kids needed naps. I feel more lost now that they are older and we have more time.

Try to find a day that you can spend a few hours in Epcot, especially World Showcase starting at 11am for the Flower and Garden food booths. Epcot is so beautiful during Flower and Garden.

Good question- touring plans is saying $150 difference. Originally I was looking at Sea World which was more expensive and seems liked it is an ordeal to get there. I think the kids would like it there too. For DHS- I think they would like toy story mania, seeing the Star Wars characters and fantasmic. Not sure where they would have the most fun without breaking the bank. On the flip side- we only go every 3 years and I want to get it right

Thanks! Do you
Think kids that age would like it? I remember being a bored 16 year old there (first Disney
Trip) but maybe flower and garden is more fun? That was also over 20 years ago :)

Do you think it would be worth it to see the parade at 2 and just use the three fast passes right after at MK?

Is jingle bell jingle bam worth going back to HS a second night? we had originally planned a second day at epcot, but we could split

I agree i would not rest that first day -- maybe sleep in if you are getting in late, but you will be itching to get to the park. I would buy tickets for everyday of your trip (maybe minus the blizzard beach day) so that you have the option of going to a park for a portion of your day. Once you start adding days they get cheaper. There was someone who posted recently that their trip was somewhere around 11-14 days but they only had 5 days of park tickets and were complaining about how busy it was -- well if you are trying to get everything done in a few days then you have to be on the go. More park days also means more fast passes so you could have 3 days at magic kingdom and 9 fast passes.

HS is really a good 1/2 day park we are planning on going hitting most rides and a shows and TS dinner - and we can accomplish most arriving at 1pm until close. If you have someone in your party that would like those rides it is worth going at least for part of the day. That could also fall on your blizzard beach day -- go to BB at opening - stay until 2 then quick break and change of cloths for HS from 4 until close - you can just book FP for later in the day.
