I just got off the phone with my TA who had just received the itinerary for the 14 day repositioning in May 2005.

Port Canaveral
Castaway Cay
2 days at sea
Curacao
1 day at sea
Panama Canal
1 day at sea
Puerto Quetzal(Guatamala)
1 day at sea
Acapulco
1 day at sea
Cabo San Lucas
1 day at sea
Los Angelas

She said that DCl would not confirm that they had any pre-bookings for coporate sponsors nor did they give any prices.

Thanks for posting this info. WOW seven sea days. - Mike

This wait is killing me....I don't want to get to excited incase they price this thing to high......Is it tomorrow yet?????

I did a similar cruise on Princess. Curacao was unique. I remember seeing monkeys everywhere in the trees along the canal and being so near to another ship in the locks that you could talk back and forth. Acapulco was nuts. Fun, but be careful with those taxis!!

I see the repositioning in May has 1 day in the Panama canal and the return has 2 ??

Possibily a evening/nighttime crossing of the canal from west to east (start off one night and finish the next day)?

Can someone tell me the dates again for May as well as August.. for these Cruises...? thank you.... :sunny: .. Stacey,,......

My birthday is May 14. I keep telling my wife this would make a really good gift. LOL What do you guys think this will cost a family of four? Or is it like the old saying "if you have to ask" Or Maybe I'll let the kids pay there own way to college and have a cruise of a life time. J/k :firefight

In the Navy, it took one full day to get through the canal. Ships entered the lake from both sides int he morning, and in the afternoon, were sent out.

We have a Navy base on one side of the canal (West, I think), so the Magic may be stopping for fuel and supplies on the return trip (ooo! speculations!! )

Last year when we went through the canal on RCCL we entered the canal at 7:30 a.m. We were escorted the whole way through the canal. A person actually gets on the ship and stays on until you go through all the locks. You move over Lake Gatun very slowly. We came out on the west side around 6 p.m. at night. There were some military ships when we came out, they all waved to us. We spent the whole next day at sea and then stopped in Puntarenas, Costa Rica. We did not stop in the canal and couldn't do any excursions.

Does anyone fear motion sickness going thru this canal?:headache: I'm a little queasy reading about how it TAKES ALL DAY.:faint:

I would love to take this cruise and would probably even pull money out of the savings to afford it, but I just can't take my dd out of the last 2 weeks of school. One week is bad enough. I am so bumbed.

No chance of motion sickness going through the Panama Canal. Their is no motion in the locks or the lake. Think of a slow moving ride on an elevator on the locks. Takes over an hour to go through each one. It takes the water a long time to fill up. Now motion sickness on the ocean, that's another thing altogether!

Does anyone here want to have fun and GUESSTIMATE how much this will cost? DH said for two adults and 10-year old child for a cat 9 would probably easily run at least $9000.00ish.

According to the DIS Newsletter, it wasn't supposed to be much more than the 7-night cruise. We'll see, though... ;)

I think it would be just a little more over the daily per person rate on a 7day cruise.

For example 7 day (Cat 4 room) = $4458.00 on 04/30/2005 for 2. That breaks down to $318.00 per person per night of the cruise.

So take that rate $318.00 add 10% for $350 per person per night - $9800.00 for a CAT 4 room with 2 passengers.

If you want to figure prices look at the category you want to book and break it down like that. It's possible they may only charge a small premium over the total 7 day package - but demand will increase the price.

If you can get a CAT 4 stateroom for 6000 with 2 passengers, that would be $214 per person per night, a very good value!
