so day 1 is May 7th-ordinarily MK morning; no contest:flower1:

Would you still go at rd?
How do you think these 'special mornings' will impact?

Or change plans completely and head over to AK and enjoy EMH?

Soooo many questions:rolleyes1

We're not naturally early risers, so I don't do AK rope drop as its a park where we can do it all without RD.

Personally, I'd stick with MK rope drop on the hopes that the Morning Magic crowd really is small enough not to be a huge problem. This is dependent on the fact that I just use RD for generally shorter lines, not a requirement to get one specific hot ride and assuming I have at least one other MK to help me recoup if this was a mistake.

We always go at rope drop. We can get more done between 9:00 and 12:00 than we do for the whole rest of the day.

Since we normally wake up at 5:30, getting up at 7:15 to make rope drop is still sleeping in.

It's not like the crowds are going to decrease later in the morning. Earlier is always less crowded.

Yeah, I don't know what I'm going to do. We have MK planned for 6/14 which is now a morning magic day. I have a pre-opening BOG, and a supper at WCC. I can make FP on 4/12. I guess I won't be keeping the BOG but the next question is whether to avoid MK that day. We always do rope drop at MK and I don't know if morning magic will have a significant impact.

For us, we have BoG 8am reservations, which would have afforded us a leisurely breakfast then mine train afterwards. (Either one of the first few to start a few minutes in advance of rope drop, or simply the first few to start at rope drop depending on CM.) Now there is no way we'll be some of the first few, since we'll be after all the special ticket guests from 8-9am. Perhaps instead of leisurely breakfast followed by the mine train, we'll simply go to another section of the park. I really don't know what we'll do, but I know it has a definite impact to our plans.

I'm unsure what to do as well. We have CP booked for 4/30 and anticipated spending 9-11 riding FL rides with little to no wait. Now I'm considering the early morning magic event and nixing CP, riding those 3 from 8-9, then having breakfast? IDK. Just feeling uneasy about the whole thing and wish they hadn't sprung this on us along with moving back the RoL start date, I'm feeling sad about the upcoming trip now!

I totally get how you're feeling.
I was actually rather relieved after all the AK anxiety and anticipation -
when the pushback was finally announced yesterday...

I foolishly envisaged my planning was complete & schedule all sorted

Since this new "event" includes breakfast at a place with, maybe, 400 seats they can't allow too many people in. Assuming that's true, there won't be much impact.

This is assuming that everyone eats breakfast at the same time though. Isn't breakfast available any time during those hours? If so, they could sell a lot more tickets. We are going in July and I am hoping that this doesn't impact people who don't do it too much!

I'm really glad our trip was before all this started. While Disney doesn't always do what makes the most sense, my guess is that the EMM people will be put through the FP lines until 9 AM. PPO ADRs will probably be allowed to get in line in the standby queue and be allowed to ride promptly at 9 am when the special ride access ends. This would still give a jump on rope drop crowds. We won't know until the first couple happen. Unless I was going to completely change my park days, I would probably keep my PPO BOG if I was on the first day just to see, especially if I was using DDP for it.

True. I'm assuming they won't sell 4000 tickets either. They would have a tough time feeding even a quarter that many in the short time allotted. If they gave everyone a breakfast voucher for anytime breakfast is being served then that may work. Does Pinocchio House normally serve breakfast?

No.

Our adr was predominantly for snack time for dmil-she likes her pastries & coffee!
It's not a pre park opening adr-sadly.

I'm still in a quandry:fish:

Pinocchio House doesn't normally serve breakfast (to my knowledge). I think the idea is that they can have breakfast anytime from when they get there until 10:00. Theoretically this would spread out the breakfast people but if they wanted to make best use of their time and ride the rides, they would probably want to eat around 9:30 maybe. Josh on EasyWDW posted about it this morning and doesn't think that it will have an impact on normal park opening people--hope that his is correct!

It turns out there will be an EMM on the day I have fastpasses booked for MK (5/24). Considering switching my MK day. I only have one MK day and this is my first and probably once-in-a-lifetime trip.

I currently have my 3 FP's booked in the late AM-Early PM to potentially grab a fourth. They include Anna&Elsa and SDMT, but if I were to switch the day, I would have to give up A&E and get late evening FPs.

Not very nice of Disney to spring this up so suddenly.

I predict that everyone will arrive for breakfast at the same time,:scared1: and they will most likely sell a boatload of tickets. If I only had access to the three rides from 8-9, I would head for the rides first, and do breakfast afterwards.

We have a fantasyland package booked for 4/26 opening day. Our plans are to hit mine train and Pan as many times as possible before 9 and then head to breakfast. After breakfast we are going to go about our regularly scheduled day. We certainly won't be getting in the standby line for any of the fantasyland attractions that we've already ridden. With that being said, I don't expect the morning fantasyland to have any significant impact on the wait times in fantasyland at rope drop. I could be wrong, but that's just my guess.

I hope you're right.

Update-

Slept on it & decided to go ahead with MK plans.
