Italy: "Dark Rome" private tour company supplemental pre-day

I've been looking at pre-dates in Rome for the September Italy trip. There are several interesting options listed under the "Dark Rome" tour company --- particularly the 1/2 day Ancient Ostia tour and something called a "Ghost, Mysteries and Legends of Rome" night walking tour. Has anyone any experience with this company? We had had bad luck booking "pre" dates--- Thanks!

Dark Rome is totally reputable. It's a branch of City Wonders which does tours in other cities. I used it in Rome when I went. There's also Walks of Italy and LivItaly, which are even better companies, imo. I used them to visit Pisa and Pompeii. But you can't go wrong with any of these companies.

We used Dark Rome for general audience with the pope. They were very good in getting tickets, explaining the history of the vatican, and best of all knowing exactly where to sit for the best views of the pope (he walked right past us--within 2 or 3 feet). Walks of Italy is also great. Did 3 different tours with them. Great guides who explain things by telling stories versus pelting you with a bunch of facts.
