It was NOT the time of our lives...but it's still DISNEY! Final thoughts!

She looks great! What a good choice for her. I know that she is upset right now, but hopefully the wig will help her feel a little better about her appearance. It can't be easy for any woman to lose all of her hair. :sad1: I'm glad that you got to spend time with her this weekend.

I think that the wig looks fantastic on her. I know that dealing with cancer is very difficult for both the one that has cancer and those around them that love them. She is very lucky that she has you and the rest of the family around to support her. I am hoping that the wig will give her new confidence. I know that it did for my Gram when she got hers. My DH was lucky with his cancer and he beat it and I just know that your Grams will too. She is a very strong woman and feeling angry is just her way of dealing with everything that she is going through. It does get better, I promise.

That doesn't even look like a wig at all- it looks very natural. She looks great!
I hope her health improves quickly & I also hope you feel better soon.

Grams looks GREAT! I love the new do! Very chic!

Thanks for sharing her courageous journey - she has every right to be angry, and some times anger can fuel us to extraordinary measures! Rock on Grams!

She really does look great!! How has she been doing? Has the FABULOUS wig help to lift her spirits? I hope so. :goodvibes I'm rootin' for her!

How was the concert Friday?

Grams looks really really good with the new "Do"!!

I'm keeping her in my thoughts!!

Hi Rach! Gram's wig looks great. Can't tell it's a wig. The style is great!! I'm happy she found one she's comfortable in :)

Grams looks great in her new wig :goodvibes I second MrsSpratt Rock on Grams! You're all in my thoughts and prayers

I forgot to post through all that stress, I did manage to take a photo of the GF for dbf who has fallen in love with the GF and AKL. It is truly beautiful there.. I was so surprised how much we loved it.

We left off during our cab ride; we made it back home around 7:46pm. The whole photo shoot took just around an hour. Once we got back to the hotel, we had a list of things we needed to do prior to catching a bus to the boardwalk to pick up the cake.

Things we needed to do:
- Change
- Eat dinner
- Purchase and put Park Tickers on our room keys

We first went back to the room, to change into some more appropriate clothing for the weather. Next, we headed over to Everything POP, where we picked up some quick dinner. Food Porn Next:

It was delicious as always but Dbf didn’t like his sandwich at all. He says the sauce was gross. We finished eating at 8:15pm, incase anyone forgot, and we had to pick up the cake at the boardwalk bakery by 9:30pm. I suggested to Dbf we head over to the Concierge desk real quick and purchase our park tickets for tomorrow morning now and get them put on our room key. This way we’d be ahead of the game for tomorrow morning. Well little did I know it would be such a huge production!

There was no line up at the concierge desk, so we were served right away. We needed two adult 1-day park hopper tickets put on our cards for our day in the parks on Saturday. Where should I start? We got up to the counter and explained what we wanted and she started to get things started right away. Again, we wanted a 1 day adult park hopper pass added to each one of our cards, paid on my MasterCard (not put on the room). Well it took her about 20 minutes to figure out how to put the park tickets on our room key? (HUH, don’t you do this all day long?) Then she accidentally charged it to our room, TWICE and then had to remove those transactions. Then she put the transaction through my actually MasterCard… only to tell me my card was DECLINED!! AHHH.. WHAT? NO, my card is not declined .. I knew there was thousand’s of dollars available on the card. Now we had been standing there for almost 20 minutes, it was 8:35pm… and I needed to go to the payphones to call my credit card company. It took about 5 minutes for them to tell me, No, my card is no where near max’ed that it was a “transaction error” on the companies fault. i.e. she didn’t process the card properly.

I hang up and we head back to a 5-person line up. Finally, after waiting in line for 10 minutes we get another concierge clerk. It’s now 8:45pm (we still have to pick up that cake by 9:30pm and we needed to take into account WDW transportation) I calmly explain to her that we have to pick up a celebration cake at 9:30, then I start to explain to her the situation and she says no problem, she’ll get those tickets on my room key. Well, turns out she couldn’t get them on my room key now because the previous concierge had charged them and removed them.. and I don’t know… at this point, I was so frustrated Dbf stepped in. Next thing I know, she’s over at another clerk’s counter with a manager and the first concierge clerk talking and trying to figure it out.. FINALLY at 8:54pm, they had figured it out.. but by now WE WERE ALREADY LATE.

We asked the concierge which was the fastest way to get to the boardwalk… she said to take a bus to DTD and transfer from there. Seemed easy enough,

We walked outside and there was a DTD bus waiting so we ran for our lives and we still had 35 minutes to get there…I didn’t truly realize the time until we were sitting on the bus and dbf informed me that it was already 8:54pm.

Note: Now, thinking back we could have just taken a cab, but we had taken soooo many cabs already.. I didn’t want to even go there and it didn’t come to mind.

We got to DTD at, 9:13pm, I was still hopeful we would get there on time.. but I was starting to panic. I couldn’t remember if the Boardwalk bakery was open until 10:00pm or if it was open until 11:00pm.

Bad planning on my behalf, because I didn’t think to find the fastest way to get there and I didn’t write down what time they were open until because I figured we’d be there by 9:30pm.

I can’t remember what time the transfer bus to the boardwalk came because I was really starting to panic…. EVENTUALLY after 5 different hotel stops (we were the last stop out of 6) we arrived that the boardwalk for 10:05pm. It took us an hour and 10 minutes to get to the boardwalk.

I’ll be honest, I was pissed off, I just can’t believe that’s the fastest way and I was stressing out because we were late for picking up dbf’s surprise.

Photo of the Boardwalk sign, as we power walked by:

We didn’t have any time to even enjoy the boardwalk or even look around because we were rushing to the bakery just hoping it was open… and IT WAS. Finally, something was going to go well this evening…..… NOT.

We opened the door and walk in.....… MmmMMMM… Cake!!! We were the only ones in there and we went straight to the counter.:woohoo:

HISTORY

He’s a bit of history to help everyone understand the situation and so that the next part of my TR makes some sense. Dbf and I agreed we’d order a custom cake during this trip because we both love cake and it would be something really nice to do. I went ahead and ordered a 10” custom cake, which was almond flavor with Bavarian cream filing and butter cream frosting under the fondant. I showed Dbf a picture of what I ordered:

In reality, I did order a 10” almond flavor custom cake with Bavarian cream filing and butter cream frosting under the fondant… HOWEVER, I asked for a Rock N’ Roll theme. The plan was to pick up the cake under Horvat, R and let Dbf read it. I knew he’d be shocked and confused because it would read “Enjoy The Show” then I’d give him his Aerosmith tickets. It was a good plan…

Here is the photo that the cake was suppose to look like:

Cake #1: This would be the actually look of the cake and size minus the colors.

Cake#2: This would be the colors and pattern for our cake.

I feel like this is the season finale and the car blew up and I have to wait until next season to find out who survives and how!

:happytv:

Also-Your Gran looks great!

Oh no! I can't believe it took over an hour to get from POP to the Boardwalk. I'm keeping my fingers crossed at this point that you even got a cake.

It's insane that it took so long to get the darn tickets on your card! I can't believe this trip!! It's like everyone is just screwing up!

Ugh....i'm scared to see the cake.

Will we be seeing a real picture of the actual cake, or will it be a dramatic representation by a drag queen cake?:lmao:
