It was his first day at school and guess who was crying!!!!

Well Ciaron started school today.He was up three times during the night with excitement,I thought it was Christmas again!!!!LOL!!!He got dressed in his uniform with his shirt and tie,not forgetting the blazer and was sitting ready to go an hour before the school began!!!!!
We got to the school and went into his classroom.He found his name on his desk and sat down.he was then told to hang up his blazer and his bag in the cloakroom.
He came back to his seat and was trying to write his name with the magnetic letters in front of him but couldn't find them all so he wrote MUM instead,so sweet!!!!
The boy next to him was in floods of tears and didn't want his mum to leave,Ciaron didn't notice him!!!!We took some pics and done a little videoing before being asked to leave.I had to say goodbye three times before Ciaron let on to me,he was having too much fun!!!!
Well I left with tears flowing,thats my last to go to school and hes my only boy,so I was allowed a tear or two!!!
we picked him up at 12 oclock,he started at 9.30 today.I asked him how it was and he said fine,I asked if he was going back tomorrow and he said yes!!Phew that was a relief!!!!
He said that he got a cool buddy,they have buddy system there for the new starts.Great idea to help them settle in.

Must go and get him bathed and ready for tomorrow!!!

Just teasing you. My son started Montessori school when he was 18 months old (a whole 1 hour and 15 minutes a day). Even at that young age he couldn't get me out of there fast enough

Thanks guys.His dad is having to take him tomorrow as I am working.we planned it so that his dad would be off on his first week as he only goes half days for the firts week then next week he is in from 9am to 3pm.He has been in Nursery since he was 2 years old but I don't know how he will be for a full day at school.
I am trying to get a part-time job so he doesn't have to go to after-school care every day,but it is difficult as the competition for jobs here is tough!!Never mind as long as my boy is ok.I wonder if he'll still like school as much by the end of the week!!!

Do they really start full days next week Judith? Our primary 1's dont go in for full days until October 1st.

Yeah they only do a week here.They done it last year to see how it would go and all went well.The kids are really tired by the end of the day but they settle in quicker.I don't know why they changed it but it seems to suit a lot of parents better too!!!I wouldn't mind them being half days until October but the kids don't seem to suffer for going in early so why not do it?Maybe our kids aren't as clever as the kids through your way and need the extra schooling!!!!!LOL!!!!
