I have had that name since BETA for crying out loud. When I saw other names forced to be changed, I assumed Super Teacher would meet her end someday, and it appears that today is that day. So I'm guest number 4052807 while I wait for my new, not nearly as good, name to be approved.

They really did not pick a good week to do this. I was already having a bad go of it IRL, and now this....

Oh well, life goes on.

If I had to venture a guess, I'd say it was the "teacher" in SuperTeacher. Why it was okay a year and a half ago when I picked it and suddenly not now is beyond me.

Thanks everyone. Like I said, I figured it would happen sooner or later, the timing is just awful.

We had to put our cat to sleep a few days ago, so I've been more than a little heartbroken over that, and I just wanted to go play some fireworks to forget about it for a while, and BOOM! There it was. Not what I wanted to see.

My son got his name taken away last week, Mickeetoo, he also had that name since literally Day ONE when VMK opened in Beta.

I got the message that your title was changed and was confused - I didn't really get why vmk would feel it necessary to change SuperTeacher. But I guess I can see where they are coming from sort of! I'm sorry you are having a bad week, I know how hard it is to lose a cat. I'm still sort of sad about my cat, who got hit by a car, and this is three years later. and pixie dust! Hope this week is better then your last few days!

Thanks everyone. I've been getting lots of nice messages in game, some with some funny suggestions for new names if my alternative one is rejected. My personal favorite, courtesy of my husband was SuperNotATeacher.

Mal, I'm sorry your son lost his name. That stinks. What's worst is you have to pick a new one right then, and there's no time to think. I'm not crazy about my new choice, but oh well. We'll see if it flies.

Aww . I was surprised to hear of your name change; I got the message in VMK today. I don't know why they would want you to change it. I personally, wish I had chosen a different name; I don't really like mine that much.

I am sorry Super Teacher! I was just actually posting on DIS because the same thing happened to me. Now I know the official name is "name slapped"! lol

This may be a dumb question, but are there any new guidelines or posts on how they are judging names now? I have a hard time with the fact that our names are approved initially, and then BAM! taken away again.

Aww, that's too bad. I remember when MommyKate got name slapped,
and I'm sure the Mommy and the Teacher parts were the disapproved parts.

I don't know what I'd do if suddenly my title was forbidden.
Hmm, actually I do know.

For those who started during Beta, I'm sure we all remember the avatars
"talking" in the bubbles on the old home page. I remember the girl with
the Snow White hair had "SnowEmma" as her title. She took part of
Snow White and her alleged real name. I feel my BriarLori is similar to that.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Good luck finding a new title, Teach. How about SuperPeacher?

The name changes annoy me to no end. I haven't had a problem yet but I'm sure my day is coming. Here are a couple of alternate titles I'd try:

IWasNameSlapped

but that's just me, the proud owner of "BigWhiteGloveBand".
