It was all started by a towel...

I have decided the official name of the December trip is "Blink and you'll miss it!" Because really, that's how short it seems. We'll be seeing LOTS of friends and doing LOTS of stuff, so that will make it seem to go even faster.

As you all know, the Packing Rules are very strict. Packed in full a minimum of 12 days prior to departure for any and all WDW trips. No exceptions. It is the Packing Mandate.

Of course I will be packed by the deadline. OF COURSE I will. I will probably start tomorrow, which is 19 days prior to departure. I need to see what I need to buy. I need to assess the liquid situation. I need to find those hand warmer things and the "pattern" glasses to make the Osborne Lights more fun. I already have them, I just have to find them. The hand warmers are not in the WDW bag, because we did not bring them this summer. I *think* the glasses are in there, just because they are.

We may have guests from out of town here Thanksgiving weekend. There was some hinting at some VERY tiresome errands. I think that I shall lie and say I am FAR too busy PACKING to engage in the tedium of those errands. :rolleyes1 It will be our secret. Shhhh! :ssst:

I have to say I don't like to pack for a "winter" trip. When I pack for August I know I will need T's & shorts and a sweater for restaurants. I just checked the 15 day forecast for Orlando and the highs range from 68 to 81 and lows from 51 to 64. I am going to need pants if it will be 51 at night and I am probably going to want shorts if it is in the 80s. I won't be packing 7 of each for both of us.

I guess I could pack some warm weather stuff now but I have a million other things on my list.

:wizard:Good luck packing and avoiding errands!;)

Bernadette, I have decided my absolute rock bottom for temps is 60 degrees. Anything colder makes me disgruntled. I have a 30% off coupon for Gap so I will go see what sort of cold weather attire I can find. But I actually have bigger problems...

The 180 mark for our June trip is 12/6. While we are at WDW. :headache: Crap. That makes it necessary for me to re-think leaving the laptop at home. We still don't know WHEN DH will be bidding for vacation. There is a chance that the bid will be 12/7 (ALSO while we are at WDW  ) so I may be making ADRs for a trip we may not even take! :sad2: Crap again. Hmm. Today is the 14th. I suppose they COULD do bids 11/30, but I bet they won't. Sigh.

DH just told me I don't HAVE to call and make ADRs at the 180 mark. Silly boy! OF COURSE I have to make them at the 180 mark! Even if he hasn't bid yet, we can't miss the 180 mark while we wait around for bids!!! I don't know why he doesn't grasp that concept.

No swimming unless temps are a MINIMUM of high 80's. Sustained temps of high 80's - not one day with a fluke high in the 80's.

I just came back from buying jeans for DS. There is NO WAY I could look at stuff for myself with him along, but we bought him 4 pairs of jeans so he should be set. He has 6 pairs total now.

We also got his hair cut. Hopefully it won't all grow back in 19 days. Though the way his hair grows, it is entirely possible.

Should I admit that I haven't made all my ADR's for May? My 180 days was 8 days ago. I did make my birthday ADR's, a Fantasmic package and a couple of reservations for Mother's Day weekend with Terry but I still need lots more since we are booked for DxDDP.

60 degrees?! That's swimming weather for us!! :rotfl2:

Congrats on the jeans for DS.

I've been working on Christmas gifts all day. I really want to be done before my trip so I can be relaxed on the trip. I did say I was going to have my Chrimstmas cards all done before the trip too so I guess I better get working on those.

Bernadette, tsk, tsk, tsk. Slacking on your ADRs is a very bad thing. :sad2:

I think I will do my tip envelopes today.

I can't decide if I want to go shopping or not. I really don't. I have to go to the grocery store and after that I will be too drained to deal with the mall. :rolleyes1

Well, I still have not done my tip envelopes. Maybe this weekend.

I have been looking for a coat for DS. I bought him a North Face jacket, but he wasn't thrilled with it, which means he wouldn't wear it. And for $100 I would be mad if he didn't wear it. So I took it back. I was also worried that it wouldn't be much warmer than the jacket he already has.

Today I bought him a Nike coat. It was only $21 (originally $80) so if he only wears it a few times (or if he LOSES it) I can live with that. My main concern is that it will be cold at WDW. When we went on '06 it was cold. REALLY cold. When we went in '07 it was hot. We skipped Dec. last year.

Regardless, DS needed a coat. Of course he will fuss and gripe EVERY TIME I ask him to wear it, because I think that is his purpose on earth. He has this paper thin zip front sweatshirt that he wears all the time. He will NOT be allowed to bring it to WDW. I am tired of looking at it and I don't want it in all the photos. He has other perfectly good sweatshirts he can wear on the trip. And if it is cold, now he has a coat! :)

I still have no new jeans. I have now tried TEN different brands and I have hated every single one. It's not that they didn't FIT, it's that they looked completely ridiculous. I have jean fatigue. Oh, and if anyone happens to be friends with a jean designer, could you please mention that I don't know ANY women with a 34" inseam? NONE. I don't even know any women who could manage a 34" inseam in REALLY HIGH HEELS! Just sayin'...:rolleyes1

I have to get out our winter stuff. I can't remember if Lizzy has a winter coat that fits. She's got a 3 in 1 Columbia that she's wearing now but that won't be warm enough all winter.

I wasn't planning on bringing winter jackets to Disney. I was just telling Dorinda today that it could get cold but I don't think she believes me even though she's been there with me in the 30's but that was January and she thinks since we're going November 30th that it CAN'T be that cold in November. She's going to bring some light wieght pants that zip off into shorts. She doesn't want to go back to the hotel to change at night, doesn't want to carry clothes all day and doesn't want to rent a locker. Maybe Lizzy & I will be taking afternoon breaks.:rolleyes1

It was 50 here today and she thinks that is as cold as it will get in Disney. I tried to explain that it is colder there at night with no sun and just standing still waiting for fireworks but she thinks I'm crazy.

I've been to Disney 4 times in December. The first time was VERY hot-in the 90's. The next time I foolishly didn't even bring jeans with me and it was FREEZING!!! I had to buy clothes there. The next time I was prepared just in case but it was warm-never needed more than a T at night. And the last time it was cool and WET  and then hot.

Maybe I'll just take 2 checked bags so I can bring a little bit of everything!

Yes you do!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl: And I don't even wear heals!

Well! Then let me tell you, Macy's has more jeans than you can shake a stick at! Enjoy!! :rotfl:

I hate cold. Hate it. So if it is below 60 I will be in layers, hat, scarf, gloves, etc. I will stick a Therma Care wrap to my back and put hand warmers in my pockets. DS will screech about wearing a coat, but he is also the one who won't eat if it is too cold in a restaurant so he WILL bring the coat whether he wants to or not. I am still debating buying Ugg boots for myself. I haven't ever tried them on so I will have to find time to do that.

But I bet they are all long rise and I hate those! And I have a really long rise so jean shopping is no joy for me either.

I can't imagine Ugg boots at Disney but I have seen them there.

I placed an order with minimus.biz for a few snacks (cereal, granola bars, cashews....) AND I did order a few hand warmers so I bet we have a nice warm trip!

When I left my office tonight it was in the 40s and I had on a polar fleece vest and rain jacket (what I was planning on for Disney and I was COLD!!! I have to rethink what I'm bringing for a jacket. I'll have to wait until we have a more reliable long range forecast to make that decision.

You know what's funny? I have a fleece Columbia jacket and the wind goes right through it. I am REALLY GLAD I found that out before I tried to wear it somewhere that it would matter!

DH and I have matching fleece Mickey jackets from the Disney Store (DS outgrew his). I have a denim Mickey jacket, and I have a pretty heavy Magic Kingdom logo jacket. I also have a leather jacket but I won't bring that.

DS tried on the coat last night and he sort of grimaced, but too bad. I also rummaged around and found his gloves and hat. I wonder if I can find some long sleeved T's for him?

Princess is going for a dentist appt, lunch, and Ugg shopping with her mom today, so maybe Pixie and I will head to the mall. Pixie already has her Uggs. They are double the size of her feet, but they are so cute we can hardly stand it. I am not necessarily looking for Uggs to bring to WDW - I will probably just wear them at home.

FIFTEEN DAYS until departure! :dance3:

I couldn't help but think of you when I dropped Lizzy off for band at 7:30 this morning. It was 34 degrees and the boy in the drop off line behind us had on shorts.:scared1: I couldn't see what he had on top-probably a T.

:wizard:Good luck shopping for Uggs!

Um, no. No, no, no. NO shorts when it is 2 degrees above freezing! :scared1:
On the first chilly day we had there was a little boy at the preschool in shorts and a T. The only possible explanation I could come up with was that he had some sort of accident and was in his "spare" clothes. I saw him in the carpool line at pick-up. I sincerely hope that was NOT how he was dressed when he arrived!

DS pulled out the pics of our Dec. '06 trip last night. He was insisting that a Gap fleece would be fine. No, the Gap fleece pics are from the Jan. '05 and the Feb. '07 trips. That Feb. '07 trip was brutal. Cold AND wet AND DS was sick by the time we went home. :sad2: Not that wearing a warmer coat would have made a difference, but it would have been a good idea!

So it turns out Old Navy has sherpa lined hoodies. DS wanted one at Gap, but they were adult size so they were WAY too big. The drawback to the Old Navy ones is that the kids' sizes all have these completely ridiculous logos on them. :headache: The adult ones are plain, but HELLO? they are too big. :sad2: Abercrombie has kid size ones, but they are $130!!! :scared1: PROUD of their hoodies, apparently!

I bought a pair of jeans at Macy's but they are just "eh". They are petite, so chances are after I run them through the dryer they will be worse then "eh". I may go see if I can find them in Misses, but I bet I can't. Grrr.

How about this?

Joe hates all that graphic stuff at Old Navy.....
