NINE weeks until departure!!

DS has been cast in a lead role in his school play. If he misses more than 5 rehearsals he will be cut from the cast. So far they are NOT rehearsing on Fridays, so I am hoping this trip will only cost him 2 rehearsals.

I need to call the pet sitter. I sent her a note along with her paycheck in August asking her to please reserve our Dec. dates, but she never called me to let me know one way or the other. Kind of need to know that.

Bummer about the dates!!! My Dad will be there the day after you leave!! And he does not know it yet but i am planning on flying down to surprise him! I figure I booked everything , I will know exactly where he is! (Hopefully work doesnt get in the way!) So we could have almost bummed into each other! Oh well.

Well, crap! Would have loved to have a chance to meet you! Well, we have been trying to meet up with Maggie for years and it is FINALLY going to happen, so I have faith that we will meet you eventually!

My pet sitter called to confirm that she has us on her calendar, so that's all set. She is awesome.

I thought about maybe downgrading our room ressie, so I looked to see what was available. The answer? NOTHING!!! There is NOTHING available! Some suites, some rack rate villas, that's it. So we will not be downgrading. We will be sticking with the room we have! Apparently if there were rooms still open they have been snatched up by 7-for-4 people.

With nothing to tweak it looks like all there is to do now is wait.

I've been looking at possible upgrades (just looking you know so I could feel about what we do have ) for our Dec trip for a few weeks (before 4/3 deal) and haven't seen anything available. I hope it isn't too crazy! At least all of my travel companions know we are leaving the room early every day!!!

Oh forgot to add....my friend Terry always waits til the last minute too book a room but when she booked ASMo for Halley's bday on 9/4 she also booked a room at Pop for 12/5 so that is good!

I was too lazy to go dig out my AP, so I wasn't even looking at discounted rooms - I was looking at RACK RATE! I would venture to guess this may be the absolute most crowded we have ever seen the parks.

I actually thought about cancelling the trip, but the penalty on the airfare plus the MVMCP tickets would mean we would lose $600. So we'll just have to deal with the crowds.

I think it is the Saturday night that is so busy. Isn't that when the Pop Warner crowds start to arrive? I'm hopeful they won't be in the parks at that point yet....

I could get (at rack rate) Pop for the first few nights of my stay, then the All Stars up til Saturday. Then I could get YC water for about $3,500 or CL for something like $400 more OR CR garden suite for $7,500 OR a 2BR CL at AKL for a bargain at $10,500. hmmmm....we're paying $1,050 for Pop with DDP but maybe we'd be more comfortable in a 2BR CL unit. Do you think it is worth $1,350 a night to upgrade?

In our previous experience, Pop Warner gets out of hand as their competition draws to a close. We are going home Monday just as they are getting started, and we are NOT in a resort with them, so I don't think we will have problems.

Deluxe availability is impacted by parade people (mostly in the monorail resorts), but other than the actual taping at MK those people won't make much difference in the crowd levels.

I am trying to think what options I had for a room. A King suite at CSR, a 1 bedroom villa at Kidani, and something else. Other than the villa, it was room categories that you wouldn't ordinarily even know exist. The weird rooms that there are only 2 or 3 on property.

I guess if I was going to tweak I should have done it earlier.

Today's rack rate search for our dates brings up:
A suite at AKL
A suite at Contemporary
A regular room at Yacht Club
A regular room at WL
A studio at BLT
A savanna studio at Kidani

So the availability is still shifting. And depending on the search criteria you put in, it brings up different stuff. So whatever.

So, a little bump for my decidedly LAGGING pre-trip!

I think I have decided to go shopping for jeans today. I am pretty sure it will be an exercise in futility, but I am going to try anyway. It would be too much to ask to have warm temps in December. I imagine it will be more like the '06 trip when I froze the whole time.

I tried on 4 different brands of jeans yesterday with less-than-stellar results. I have decided that today i will simply work my way through the mall, one store at a time, until SOMETHING fits.

Unfortunately, I decided to lounge on the couch and read a book instead of shopping for jeans. Today I put on one of my only remaining pairs and the zipper broke. Crap.

Not sure when I will go to the mall - my schedule is weird this week. Should have gone yesterday. Stupid jeans.
