It was all started by a towel...

OMG, what an amazing trip Elizabeth!! Tell Jody he took the most amazing pictures. We so want his opinion on what camera to purchase this Christmas. We've decided we really need a good one, but not TOO pricey...$500ish! I can't belive you met DEB! Wow, how cool was that? :worship: I can't imagine being able to stay as long as you all did...ah, one day! And again, Carter, ohhhh sooo charming! Well behaved, funny, all around great kid!

So glad we were able to meet! :grouphug:

We were so happy to meet you and Christy! It was a terrific trip. Meeting Deb was a bonus - we had actually gone to meet Len. :goodvibes
If you venture over to the Photo forum DH posts there. His screen name is Oogieboogieman. ;) I will tell you the initial camera purchase isn't that expensive - it is all the crap that comes afterwards. Lenses, flashes, tripods, remotes, bags, on and on and on... He had 3 different dSLRs with him on this trip, which is partly why I am struggling to post pics in chronological order. :headache: If you add in the point & shoots DS and I were using, we had 5 cameras.

DS is pretty cool. I guess we will keep him. ;)

More great photos! Love the hidden Mickey!

I suspect the mesh on my Nike bag is a bit better quality thant he DVC bag....

We were most definately robbed! I did hear the the Princess & Frog characters will be greeting in MK so I'm holding out a small glimmer of hope....

:laughing:Too cute! I see princess meals in you future! Do you think they will take her to WDW? Wouldn't they need a nanny/tourguide for that trip?

I didn't know that pic WAS a Hidden Mickey. I thought DH just found the texture particularly engaging. :rotfl2: DS told me it is a Hidden Mickey.

We had talked about a December trip where the front of their trip overlapped the end of ours. BUT since Princess is still terrified of everything, and now the baby is coming at the end of September, that plan has been delayed. Her maternal grandparents LOVE WDW so I am sure there will be MANY trips in her future. As soon as she gets over being afraid of costumes, loud shows, and theaters where the lights are dimmed. :rolleyes1

Obviously I was having some sort of hair issues. And by the way, these dinosaurs are WAY smaller than the magic carpets!

You are making me so home sick Elizabeth!

Wishes, as viewed from the Dessert Party. DH made the unfortunate discovery that the Gorilla Pod is too small to wrap around the rail at Noodle Station, so it was tricky to get good pics.

He is quite charming isn't he!

Do you mind if I chime in on the camera choice? A dSLR is a considerable investment-not just the $$$ but it takes a while to learn to use it and you have to lug it and all its gear around. I took the plunge to dSLR last fall and am glad I did but I have invested considerably more than your $500 budget-spent more than that for one lens.

Have you considered getting a high end super zoom point & shoot? I had a Sony (no longer made) that I really loved and got great results with but a trip to WDW with 10+ inches of rain did it in. I can't say which current camera in that group is the best now. You might want to read this review (it is a a few months old so I'm sure there are newer models out now...):

Oh, dear. What did he say? No, don't post it. PM me.
:laughing:Oh that reminds me when we did Crush when crush called on one kids and he said his name I heard his mom say "Oh NO!". The kid asked if sharks ate turtles. Crush said "I don't stick around for that show....":rotfl2:

These are all really stunning!!!!

Cool! Do you remember what pennies they had there?

:wizard:Hope you can find relief!!! How many photos in total did you all take? I was very low-only about 1,200.

Bernadette - Yak & Yeti had 3 or 4 pennies but they were all Yak & Yeti related, not Disney. DS just made one because he was out of quarters that night.

So far I have loaded about 1200 pics into Photobucket, but I keep finding more. DS gave me a memory card yesterday that I loaded to the desktop, and not everything from the laptop is in Photobucket yet. DH really hasn't gone through any of them, and he is mad that I posted pics straight out of the camera with no cropping or anything. Oh, well! I am trying to finish a trip report, not win a prize for photo journalism!
