It was all started by a towel...

OMG, could Flying Fish be any more fabulous? I don't think so.

Our favorite server, Jacki, was not there tonight so the manager suggested we have Didi as our server. He was outstanding! :thumbsup2

I had a blood orange margarita - it was REALLY good. Better than the Magical Star thing last night. Next was an amuse bouche of prosciutto (sorry -can't spell that) wrapped melon in wine broth and champagne grapes for DS. For appetizers I had the tomato and mozzarella salad, DH and DS shared an order of calamari. They divided up the calamari on 2 nice plates so each had his own. :) Next was some blackberry sorbet, and then our entrees. I had the scallops, DH had NY strip steak, and DS had mac & cheese. Then it was time for BIRTHDAY CAKE!! Boardwalk Bakery did an awesome job again this year. My cake was EXACTLY what I asked for. They served the cake with some champagne, and I also had a latte. Can I just say I think I ate enough food to last for the rest of our trip? I am beyond stuffed.

After dinner we caught up with our NC friends out on the boardwalk. We chatted a bit, now we are back at AKL trying to decide if we are going to get a movie or go swimming or go watch the animals with the night vision goggles.

OMG!!! You got to meet Len? I'm so jealous. I may or may not have a not so secret crush on him :rolleyes1

I loved that drink at FF! And the food looks fab. I have decided we will for sure be going back there in November :)

That drink was beyond yummy. I would have ordered another one but I am a lightweight when it comes to drinks and I didn't want to end up face down on the boardwalk. :rolleyes1

We are trying to decide if we want to cancel something and add another night at Flying Fish next week.

Christopher wants to try the strip, most likely Bill & I will also have that. Hopefully the girls will find something......with the 5 of us it will be quite $$$. But I am looking forward to it!!

An important message for people staying in MK view rooms at BLT:
PEOPLE ON THE OBSERVATION DECK CAN LOOK DIRECTLY INTO THOSE ROOMS! :scared1: Use discretion if the curtains are open. :rolleyes1
Thanks for the warning. I will keep that in mind for Sunday night! :yay:

I'm sorry I missed your birthday. I hope it was great!

It was really great seeing you guys again! That rain was crazy on Wednesday wasn't it? I had totally lost all track of time when we lost Gene and didn't realize it was already 2pm and we were being picked up at the Poly for the airport at 3pm. We got TOTALLY soaked!!!!!! We took the express monorail to TTC and walked over to Poly. Gene took kids to Hawaii building while I went to bell services to get the carry on with the change of clothes. We go to the bathroom to change and I got the wrong bag.:headache::headache: Run back to bell services to get the bag with the clothes. I ask bell services to tell the town car we'll be right there if he shows up before we do. We all get changed (except Emma who was dry in the stroller with the rain cover). The kids grab a snack at the lounge and we rush out to the front to meet the town car. The kids ate the cookies quickly-no food in the car. Bell services already had my other bags out of storage which was nice. Bags were all loaded and kids belted in by 3:05.

Maybe you'll STILL be celebrating when WE get there! :rotfl:

That is a safe bet. :rotfl2:
Safe travels! Can't wait to see you guys!!

That sounds like quite the maneuver! :scared1:
It was terrific to see all of you! Hopefully we'll catch up with you in December, too! That rain was definitely interesting. DH's shirt is still wet. I haven't checked my shoes.

Janet, that is the NY strip steak. DH said it was very good!

Kristine, our total last night was $183 with the DDE card. But DS ate from the kid's menu. I left some additional cash as gratuity because it was such an outstanding experience. Our totals at Yachtsman and Cali Grill were both $165, and when you figure we have a HUGE amount of cake left I don't think it was that bad.

Tonight we are meeting some friends for dinner at Turf Club, then more friends are joining us for drinks after dinner. My challenge will be to keep DS from getting bored.

YIKES!!! :scared1: Cockroach in the bathroom, Take 2!

DH captured this one in a sandwich bag. Not sure what we will DO with it. Maybe we will post a pic of it and somebody can confirm that it really is an OUTSIDE roach that does NOT live in a colony. I will be trotting down to somewhere - the concierge desk or the front desk - and letting them know we need Pest Control to visit us AGAIN. We don't have any open food or dirty dishes or anything. I swear if we briong these roaches home in the luggage I will come UNGLUED.
