It was all started by a towel...

It's Florida! Disney does a great job with pest control, but it's still Florida!

Well lets just say they do a good job with bugs, the mice are giving them a pretty hard time! They just wont leave!

I have to say I am astounded at AKL's response to the roach. Pest Control was up here in less than an hour. We just came back in and there was a message from Guest Services making sure our problem was resolved! :thumbsup2

Funny Kristine :rotfl:

Kristine, the super giant flying roaches are tree roaches. They are scary, but I know with 100% certainty that those come in from outside. This one was smaller, just bigger than an almond. It was scary AND it looked more like an indoor as opposed to an outdoor roach.

Wally, really, if you haven't been sucked in by the pins just be glad and move on! :rotfl2:

Dinner tonight was good, but we didn't take pics. Sorry! We had a party of 8 so we were just trying to get everyone fed so we could head to PM EMH at AK.

It rained off and on for the better part of the afternoon. After dinner we decided to brave the rain and go to AK. We did get a bit soggy, but not too bad. And I HATE to be rained on, so if I didn't think it was horrible then it really wasn't bad.

It was pretty busy, and there aren't that many attractions open. We rode Dinosaur, saw Tough to be a Bug, and then we braved the line for Everest. It wasn't bad at all (amybe 15-20 minutes), and Everest in the dark is super cool!

Tomorrow I THINK we are going to Blizzard Beach. Tomorrow night is dinner at Cali Grill.

Hi, Elizabeth! Happy early b-day! Sounds like you guys are having a fantabulous time. Looking forward to reading more!

Happy Birthday!! Hope you don't mind if I tag along on your trip report. Already finding it delightful! Your son is SO cute!!

Now I know this will make me sound very ignorant, but who is Captain Sig? I will try to go back and read your pre trip report later, but for the life of me I couldn't figure this one out?:confused3

I was happy to read your review of YSH. We have a reservation there in September that I am really looking forward to.

We had a HUMONGOUS roach in the bathroom when we were at AKV last year...I swear it growled. I sent Bill in to deal with it. That's the only 1 we saw in our 10 days there.....but it did disgust me.

Hi, Lindsay! :yay: I hope you are doing well! That baby will be here before you know it! :goodvibes

SunnieRN - Welcome! Captain Sig is the captain of the crab fishing boat Northwestern. There is a show called Deadliest Catch on the Discovery Channel that follows several of the boats in the Bering Sea each season. Love the show, but not going to stand in a line for hours to say hello to Sig! :rotfl:

Not sure what we're going to do today. DS was talking in his sleep, so I think he is SUPER tired.

You are up WAY too early on vacation! :goodvibes
No Boma pics? Ah well - maybe some Cali Grill pics will come later...

I can never sleep when we are here. Some sort of WDW curse. :rotfl2:

DEFINITELY Cali Grill pics tonight!

Soo...
I have managed to lose the case to my sunglasses. Just the case. Thank goodness I still have the glasses. I put in a lost & foudn ticket with the resort, but I think I more likely lost it at MGM or on a bus. I need to call central Lost & Found and see if they have it. I bought a WDW logo neoprene one today just so the glasses won't get all scratched in my bag.

We decided to switch out AK for Blizzard beach this morning.
We had breakfast at Mara and made it to AK at 9 AM exactly. We got FPs for Everest, rode Primeval Whirl, DS and DH rode Dinosaur. From there we got FPs for the safari, went to ride Everest, went to Rafiki's Planet Watch, rode the safari, did some pin trading, that was about it.

We grabbed an Uncrustable for DS in the gift shop since he wasn't really hungry for lunch. DH had a hot dog at AK. I had an ice cream sandwich. ;) My absolute favorite WDW treat used to be the pre-packaged Nestle Toll House ice cream sandwiches. They don't have them in the parks anymore, which is a travesty. BUT DS pointed out yesterday that the AKL gift shop carries them!! YAY!!!

I think DS and I are headed down for pin trading with King Pin in about 15 minutes. Dinner isn't until 7ish so we have plenty of time to putz around.

Thank you so much!! I've heard about the show, but never watched it. I work night shift and therefore am a bit tv illiterate. Unless it is disney on demand, as my grandson is addicted.;)

Hope your DS rests well and that you have an enjoyable birthday.

It's a really good show. ;) Thanks for the b-day wishes!

My actual birthday is tomorrow. We are moving to the concierge floor, so that will be a logistical pain in the tushy. I can't decide if we'll have Bell Services take all of our stuff at 7 AM or if we'll come back at 11 AM and have them take it then. Probably 7 AM, then we will HOPE we have a room to come back to before we need to change for dinner.

We had trash & towel service today. Our housekeeper left us a little thank you note, which has never happened before. I thought that was sweet. :)

YuMMMMM! I love Mickey waffles and bacon. I guess I will have one on Sunday. What a wonderful feeling to be able to say that!!!!!!!!!!!:banana:

Jubilation!! :dance3: Central Lost & Found has the case for my sunglasses! We have to go to some little shop at the TTC after dinner tonight to pick it up. I am so excited that someone turned in my case! For the life of me I CAN NOT remember where I was when I saw it last. I wish I knew where I lost it and what I was doing at the time. Anyway, once we manage to get it back I guess I will have to be more careful.

Oh I miss the animals.
:lovestruc
I could look at them all day.

Are you doing Jiko this time?
Love that place.

No Boma Pictures....:guilty: .... I am loving the animals outside. Soooo cool! Ok so where are we going next?????

Wally, we had an "eh" experience at Jiko a few years ago and we haven't been back. I am sure we'll give it another try eventually.

Last night was dinner at Cali Grill. We ate there on our arrival night last year, so this was our second time. Our ADR was 7:35 and I was surprised that we were seated almost as soon as we stepped off the elevator at 7:15 PM. Our table was over to the left so we could see the Poly & the GF, but not MK.

Our server was nice, the food was good, but I told DH I don't think we will rush back to Cali Grill. The entrees were REALLY salty, and I am not a huge fan of salty. Even DS said his food was salty. The atmosphere is more hectic than other signature places - dining on fast forward. :rotfl2: We were finished by 8:45 PM.

We walked out to the observation deck for a few minutes (Wishes wasn't until 10 PM). An important message for people staying in MK view rooms at BLT:
PEOPLE ON THE OBSERVATION DECK CAN LOOK DIRECTLY INTO THOSE ROOMS! :scared1: Use discretion if the curtains are open. :rolleyes1

We took the monorail over to the TTC and picked up the case for my sunglasses (YAY!), then we came back to AKL to get things organized for Bell Services. DS was mad that we didn't go to MK, but I told him we will go today. He is going to be impossible to wake up as it is.

8 AM ADR at Crystal Palace, dinner tonight at Narcoosee's. :)
