It was all started by a towel...

OH....and you need a net book too!

I second that! Netbooks rock! :thumbsup2 Gabby bought one of the best rated ones recently at MicroCenter for just under $235 during our tax free holiday. It's great! I am pretty amazed at what all it can do and it has a 160GB hard drive and a speedy little processor too. She loves being able to travel with it instead of her full sized laptop since she always has to take her work laptop along. It's made her equipment carryon super light, but still gives her the ability to surf, write, and play while on the road.

Hmm. So what am I looking forward to in December?

Definitely excited to see all of our friends!

Excited to have some wonderful meals!

Excited to surprise DS with a savanna view bunk-bed room. He asked if we were having bunk-beds. Well, we are, because that was the only category I could get with the AP discount. But when he asked I looked at him weird and said "I have no idea. I guess we'll see when we get there!" The finer points of booking categories and villa vs. lodge is kind of lost on him, so he will be pleased. ;)

Excited to see the story tellers in Epcot. I love the Monkey King!
I bet you'll like the bunk room with the extra floor space!

The Monkey King was the only story teller I saw in 2006-I can't wait to see the others!

Isn't that less than you paid for luggage fees on your last trip?

Love your new title!:thumbsup2

Maggie - I do NOT need a Netbook! :sad2:
We took our very first trip in 2005. For the October '05 trip we used AAA, so I would have had a parking pass for that. Your memory is better than mine - I didn't recall that we "met" because of the parking pass!

Bernadette - No, my luggage fees were only $165. ;)

I will have to decide if it is worth it to bring the laptop in December. I love having it, but that it when we are in a villa and it is FREE internet. $10 for internet on the plane, $10 per day for internet at the hotel, and most of the people who read my trip reports will be AT WDW anyway. Definitely something to ponder. :rolleyes1

I am desperately trying to remember if we have had bunk-beds twice before or just once.

I know when we went in Dec. '07 we had bunks. It was the standard view room that looked out over the taxi stand at AKL. We got there REALLY late, and the CM who checked me in asked if it was OK that we had bunks. I thought that was weird, because you typically have to pay extra for them.

It seems like maybe we had bunks on one other trip, too, but I can't think which trip it might have been. :confused3

Technically we aren't really celebrating anything in December. But the trip falls right before the 19th anniversary of our first date, so I told them to put "anniversary" on the hotel ressie.

I am debating adding that to our ADRs.
Our wedding anniversary is in November, so that doesn't really count.

The trip is so short I am definitely not going to order a cake or anything. I will probably just leave things the way they are.

I will not be at Disney:guilty:

I'm sorry, Star. There is still time for you to book a December trip!

I will talk to DH about the pros & cons of the laptop. We like to dump the memory cards on it each day, but for only 3.5 days it might not be worth it. And if we decide NOT to do afternoon breaks then it is definitely not worth it. I will be too tired to mess with it if we go open to close in the parks.

There is still time, but sadly no money! I HAVE to get a new car before my inspection is up next month.

I know the PIA of a laptop on a trip. We took my work laptop on our last trip and the hard drive crashed!

Well, new cars can be fun, too!

DH and I talked about it yesterday, and at this point we are not going to bring the laptop. He said he will just bring some extra memory cards.

Love the animal pics!!!

Thanks! :)

Now we are in that boring phase that drags along. Blah.

There is nothing to plan, nothing to book, nothing to even tweak. :sad2: BORING!

I have started looking at 2010. We are booked for June, but if DH can't get those weeks off we will have to switch. Which means trying to make the points we have tied up in the June ressie work on an August ressie. Which won't be easy.

The front part of June is "cheaper" point season. August is a few points more, so the exact same ressie would require more points. Also, we have a value one bedroom booked. There are only 10 of those total. I doubt we will be able to get one for August. So I will probably have to configure some combination of 2 room categories. Sigh. There are A LOT of combinations possible. But it will depend on availability, too. Luckily in December when DH gets his 2010 vacation dates we will still have home resort booking advantage for AKV. Not as good as booking at 11 months, but better than competing with EVERYBODY at the 7 month mark!

I won't be at WDW, but I can certainly wait a few extra days for the trip report. ;) Those internet costs really add up!

Gabby has a wireless card and it's such second nature for us to use it instead of paying that I didn't even consider that as a deciding factor. In doing so, I agree, park the laptop at home and give us a trip report afterwards. :thumbsup2

FYI, I finally have all of my plans in place. :woohoo: The only time consuming thing left to do is to purchase and sort through the traders that I will be taking with us this time. Pin addiction, gotta love it. :upsidedow

:goodvibes I am so looking forward to 12/06/09! Maggie

I would buy an aircard if I didn't have to have a contract/plan. If I could buy one that was pre-loaded with X amount of minutes, and the per-minute rate was decent, I would do that.

YAY for plans!

We have a ton of traders because we didn't trade that many pins in August. And we are working on streamlining our 3 collections into one "family" collection so we'll trade off the duplicates. The counterfeiting is just so rampant now I think it is a good time to get out of trading and just buy a few special pins each trip. I don't think I can go in Dec. and be completely pinless, but we won't bring very many traders.

Bump!

Because there is nothing else to do while I wait! :rolleyes1

Our friend Mrs. Heg has suggested that we all do a group photo on ToT. We will have roughly 18 people meeting up on Dec. 5, but several have already opted out of our photo. :sad2: And it is entirely possible that DS may be one of the opt-outs. :rotfl2:

Looking forward to seeing our friends and having a wonderful afternoon!! :goodvibes

That sounds like a lot of fun! And it would be a great photo!
