Glda you found your glass case and hope your new room is wonderful.
We also had Ricardo last year and he was fantastic. It was our anniv. and he was so super busy that night.
Are you meeting Sha today? Think of Laura tomm., dear sista has to have the big surgery, My drs. visit did not go well either.
O.K. I drooled over your steak and creme brule pictures. Is there a drooling smilie? That CG cherry ice crema dessert looks fantastic too.

THANK YOU for all the birthday wishes!
We got everything packed up and called Bell Services at 7 AM. We went down to the bus stop at 7:10 AM, a bus to MK pulled up when we were maybe 5 steps from the bus stop. We got to MK and we were "Locker Family of the Day" (or something like that). We got a free locker, a little certificate, and an "I'm Celebrating" button.
Breakfast at Crystal Palace was yummy, as always. We eat there MINIMUM once each trip, usually more. We love it for breakfast and dinner.
After breakfast we went directly to Peter Pan, then we rode Haunted Mansion, got a FP for Thunder Mtn, and rode Jungle Cruise. A pirate sang a birthday song to me, and a lady from one of the shops had me take a call from Goofy. Our friends from MA had to go home today, but they met up with us for a few hours. We all rode Pirates, Small World, the Tea Cups, Buzz Lightyear, and Carousel of Progress. From there we finally managed to meet up with another group of friends from NC. We were all headed to Thunder Mtn. to use our FPs when a HUGE (I mean a H U G E!!!) thunderstorm came through. Our MA friends had to leave to go catch their plane, so we decided to head back and see if we might possibly have a room. We are hoping to catch up with our NC friends again tonight or tomorrow.
I stopped at Guest Relations on the way out to get my Birthday Fun Card.
I told the CM at the window that I wanted a refund on my ticket because it was raining. 
Of course a DVC AP is probably only worth about a dollar a day. 
We arrived back at AKL cold and soggy. A CM brought us upstairs, but it took a few minutes to find a CM to check us in. We were thrilled to hear our room was ready!
We have pool view. Club level DVC views are request only, not guaranteed, so it is just luck of the draw. They could have put me in a room with no windows at all and I wouldn't have cared - I just didn't want to sit in the lounge all soggy! The concierge staff left 2 little surprises for me. A chocolate AKL logo, and a gift bag with a keychain, a pen, and a little African doll/figurine. We went over to the lounge and grabbed some cookies/snacks, and now we are regrouping. Dinner is at Narcoosee's tonight. We are taking a cab, so we won't have to leave until about 6:30 PM.

Jeff, I will have to ask them where they are from. They JUST moved to NC from NY and I don't know all the details.
So last night...
We took a cab to GF. The driver said it would be $20 and he wouldn't run the meter. Hmm.
When we got there I only had 2 $20's, and the driver only had $16 change, so $24 to go to the GF from AKL. I think that was probably a scam. Next time I will tell the guy we want him to run the meter because I do NOT think it should have been that much.
Narcoossee's was good. Not fabulous, not outstanding, but good. Their menu has changed so that was a little disappointing. I didn't order an appetizer. DH and DS split an order of calamari, which was a completely different presentation than last year. Entrees were fine, and we were too full for dessert. I had asked to substitute the potato gratin for something else, but I asked several minutes after we ordered so the kitchen gave me gratin anyway. Our waiter brought out a complimentary strawberry shortcake because he felt bad about the potatoes. Overall not a bad meal. Will we RUSH back to Narcoossee's? No. I will say I was torn between the surf and turf and a tile fish and shrimp dish, so maybe I should have gone with the fish.
From there we went to MK, which was packed because Spectro had just started. We rode Buzz, Winnie the Pooh, and Haunted Mansion. I bought some pins with my Birthday Fun Card (AP holder, DVC member, AKL pin, and the Disney Visa Tinkerbell). There is another Disney Visa pin that I saw at Epcot - need to pick that up later.
We made our way back to the bus stop. Bus was PACKED. Of course AKL is a LONG ride from MK. We were standing, and about 3 minutes before we got to the resort I got really hot and lightheaded. Thought I was going to be sick or pass out or something.
Luckily there was a scooter and a wheelchair on the bus, and they decided to drop off the scooter at Jambo first and then go to Kidani. If I wouldn't have gotten off the bus I am not sure what would have happened. We got up to the room and I felt fine.
Oh, and IN the room? A fabulous cookie bouquet! Thanks, Kristine!!
