This morning was to be my parents first taste of Disney World. I was really hoping that they would see the magic. I had booked us on the Around the World Segway tour to start us off. Ric and I had been on a segway tour in Paris a couple of years back and found it to be great fun.

Mum can't drive and has never been the most confident person when it comes to riding a bike but she didn't really get the hang of the segway which was a shame. She persevered with it and didn't have any accidents but really had to concentrate on what she was doing. The Cast Members taking the tour were excellent and took extra time with her and made sure she was ok throughout the tour.

The Segway tour is very good and I would recommend it. We started off inside Innoventions where the cast members showed us how the segway worked and we went round traffic cones etc. Soon we were headed out to the World Showcase and toured the various countries. It was great to be able to wizz around with nobody else there. When the tour ended we rode our segways back to innoventions and felt like celebrities with everybody looking and waving at us.

As soon as we finished I was on a mission to get Soarin fastpasses. I ran off to get fastpasses and met the others by the Living Seas. We went to see Turtle Talk again and I was pleased to see my parents were really enjoying it. After this it was time for my Mum and Dad to have their caffeine fix. Me and Ric don't drink coffee so have never really understood the need for coffee breaks. We went up to Seasons in the Land Pavillion as our Soarin fastpasses were nearly in their window. Once coffee was drunk it was time to go flying again. Dad enjoyed Soarin but Mum felt slightly sick (oh dear!)

Lunch today was something I'd been looking forward to...Le Cellier as I had read so many rave reviews. It didn't disappoint. The pretzel bread was as delicious as I had hoped. We all had petit fillet steaks and then went for the desert selection (2 to share between the 4 of us) this had creme brulee, sorbet and chocolate cake. They were kind enough to give me a happiest celebration birthday certificate and I did get an extra desert as well which was lovely of them.

We next had a wander around some of the World Showcase countries, this time on foot. Mum and Dad love going to France so they went to watch the film. Me and Ric waited outside and caught a showing of the chair acrobat man which was very good and the first time I'd seen it. When they came out of the film it was now very hot so we caught a boat across the lake back to Future World. The garden festival was on so we admired some of the topiaries and went through Minnies butterfly garden. Nobody else was up for Test Track so I nipped into the single rider lane and was in the car in just minutes. This is one of my favourites. We then all went and rode Spaceship Earth (which after all these years I am a starting to find a bit dull) before leaving the park.

I'm not sure where we ate tonight, it can't have been that memorable!

We also did the segway tour this year, and I sympathise with your mum as it took me a lot of concentration as well. Le Cellier sounds great.
