Hello, everyone!
This trip report is all about our at-home wedding & WDW honeymoon from October 2010! Yep, you read that correctly.
We just celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary and I found myself feeling a bit nostalgic for our honeymoon. We had a fabulous time and did so many fun things on that trip, so I figured why not share our experience? In the grand scheme of things, it wasnt that long ago to no longer be relevant, and who doesnt love hearing/reading about WDW?!

About us:
Since this is my first TR, I wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves and give a little back story on that 11.5 years. We started dating in April 1999 and were engaged in August 2004. I knew I wanted Disney to be incorporated into our wedding in some way, so on the recommendation of my Disney-loving mom (it's genetic) I joined the DIS, and went into full planning mode. Six years of full planning mode.
At the start of our planning, I had only ever been to WDW once as a kid in the 80's - 1 day at MK & 1 day at Epcot. I don't remember very much about the experience, but I always had this undying urge to get back ASAP. DH had never been and didn't really care about ever going - not in a grumpy way, it just didn't mean anything to him. In Sept. 2008 we took a very short, incredibly exhausting, 5 day whirlwind trip to WDW. That was all it took, we both fell head over heels in love. It was everything I had hoped it would be, and since DH didn't have any sort of expectation, he was completely blown away. Yay!! At that point, he understood exactly why I wanted to get married at the Boardwalk so badly and have our honeymoon at the Poly. His sights were just as set as mine.
Over those 6 years, my mom & I spent countless hours on the phone together trying to make our plan work, but life just kept getting in the way of it ever becoming a reality. We also looked at ways to plan a DL wedding since DH & I are local and it's my "home" park, or even an off-property Disney inspired wedding, but we just couldn't get the pieces of the puzzle to come together. By early 2010, we decided to just get married, no matter the obstacle. That decision led us to a JoP wedding with only our parents in tow, and whatever funds we had in our wedding budget would go toward the honeymoon at WDW, of course! We were finally on our way to becoming Mr. & Mrs.! Cue those confetti cannons, please

Cast:
Me Chrysty, 32 @ trip time. Lover of (mostly) all things Disney the music, movies, theme parks, resorts, and as I get older, the history of it all. Addicted to planning trips to WDW!
DH Daniel, 35 @ trip time. Was indifferent to Disney when we first met, but has found a love & appreciation through all of the awesome experiences weve had over the years. Im so lucky to have a hubby that gets it, or at least understands why I get it.
That's our story, in a nutshell. I hope you all will join me in reliving our adventure!
Next Up: Our wedding day! Too bad my hair missed the memo on what a special day this was supposed to be....
