Back in the fall I wrote about gas mileage. Some body wrote back ; time is free, gas costs money. Whoever that sage, soothsayer was, is dead on.
Given 1500 Siverado, 5.3L (323 cubes), 3.7 gears in the rear. Towing 5r, 8000 lbs.
Last October running mostly I95 from Central PA to Disney, avg about 7 to 7.5 mpg. Yikes, not good. I was running 70-75 mph.
Now running 58-60 mph avg has been 10 to a tad over 10 mpg. 25 % increase not bad. Stopped overnite NC, GA on the way to the Keys. A quick and dirty calculation, we will pick up another tank of gas by slowing down, by the time we get to Marathon. Or it paid for the 2 overnite stays.
Can't wait to go fishin. Will keep the fisher peeeeeples posted.
