It it a huge pain to get the DAS in person at Disneyland?

We are going in a few weeks. I need to get my mom a DAS for dementia. She is super sensitive to the word. We can say "memory problems" all day without any trouble but dementia upsets her. At WDW last May, I was able to write a note to the cast member with her needs, told my mom it was just paperwork and the cast member was amazing and granted the DAS.

I tried to do the pre-registration last week and it was a disaster. I was going to try to do the wait and talking to the CM outside her house, then call her out when they needed to see her in person, but she heard me pull up and came and sat with me for the entire two hours (omg) I was on hold. I finally had to hang up.

I understand if we don't preregister we won't get the advance DAS, but is there a super long line to do at Disneyland? We will be arriving probably about 11 or noon on Monday, March 7th.

Hi, so talking to guest services at the park is not difficult at all. Nobody can say if there will be a line when you go since it is so random. My experience with Disney guest services has been pretty good and I have never had to wait too long. But they don't want to hear her diagnosis of dementia because that doesn't explain why she can not stand in line. You will need to give an explanation of why she is unable to handle the lines. You can do the same thing as last time and write it down.

You don’t need to mention dementia or memory problems. Saying those words don’t explain why she can’t wait in line and not everyone with those diagnosis have issues that affect their wait in lines.
Be ready to briefly answer the question - ‘What are your concerns with waiting in lines?’

It's not hard to register for DAS at Disneyland. If City Hall or the GS umbrella in front of Plaza Inn are busy, try the one near Matterhorn or in Tomorrowland in front of Star Wars Launch Bay. I find that those two locations are less busy than the others.

If you search for "Services for Guests with Disabilities" or just Guest Services in the app, there's a button "Find on Map" that will show you the locations of all the GS umbrellas. All the ones inside the parks can set you up with DAS.

I registered for mine at the GS umbrella across from Matterhorn last month and no one was there early in the morning. I do exactly what you did, wrote my needs on a note and hand it to the CM. It was very easy and I was done in about 5 min.

Nope, it's super easy. The size of the line varies, but I expect that day/time should be ok. I agree about using the blue umbrellas instead of going to the big GS location if you're concerned.
