Hey guys! I have been back and forth here a lot and have finally recommitted to a new healthy lifestyle!:goodvibes I realized that I would not stick to it until I made the choice that I was ready for a change. It is time!:cheer2:
A few years ago, I lost 55lbs with the help of my WISH friends. Now, a few years and two kids later, i have more to lose and plan to revisit my WISh friends for help!:grouphug:
Yesterday was day one for me. We joined the YMCA as a family and went and worked out last night. It was my first time exercising in years so I was a bit nervous. I did 12min on the Elliptical (a lot for me) and 25 min on the treadmill. Then I finished up with a single circuit and stretches. :crazy2: LOL!
As for my food changes, I am doing WW flex points on my own. I did it in the past and was very successful with it, so why not go for it again!
Well today is day two and I packed my healthy lunch and plan to hit the Y after work! Wish me luck!:thumbsup2

Good luck on your journey to good health! Sounds like you are off to a great start and have the whole family involved.

Okay, well we went 4 days this week and I plan to go tomorrow. My plan is 5 days a week at the gym and eating right. I will weigh in each Monday and see what happens. I gotta do it this time!
Thanks for all the encouragement!:grouphug:

WTG on going to the Y and to be doing it as a family is great!! You can do it!!!

Well, I weigh in tomorrow morning. End of week one!!!:cool1:
I went to the gym 4 days, stayed on my points, and feel pretty good! The only thing I didnt do very well on was getting in all my water! So we will see how that affects me. I plan to work out 5 days this week, so we will see if that happens. :goodvibes

Woo hoo Kamy!! So glad your joining us again :)

You can do it!!!

Well, I weighed in this morning....and I am so HAPPY to say I lost 5lbs this week!!!!!:cool1:
Just wanted to share with my WISH pals!:goodvibes

WTG:banana: , that is awesome...all your hard work this week has paid off. A great way to start off a week. Keep up the great work!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks Tammy!
I am really happy and need to keep the momentum up! I am going to the gym after work! :goodvibes

Good luck Kamy. Remember, one day at a time and lifestyle change is definitely a better option than a diet.

Hey Kam,

I'm not trying to steal your thunder but I've also started back on a lifestyle change (losing weight & working out). I too have a membership at the YMCA. Unlike you, I'm not married and have no kids. It is just me. I thought since we have a few things in common (Disney, losing weight & working out), we could motivate each other here on DIS. What do you think? I don't know about you but I can use all the help I can get. I wish you all the support in the world. Let me know.

Hey Kamy, I didn't know you were in Mineola now. We are almost neighbors since we are in Leesburg! It's great to see another member of that first Wishwalkers 1/2 marathon group back here and getting healthy! :cheer2:

Sounds like you are off to a great start on your recommitment to a healthy life! Keep up the good work!

Week TWO

:goodvibes Lisa- of course I would LOVE to have someone help motivate me and be able to help you anyway I can!!!! Feel free to PM me!!!!

Nancy- you live in Leesburg??? Awesome!;) We will have to meet up sometime!

Okay, well week two is over and it was not as good as I had hoped. My whole house is sick with some terrible bug, so I only managed to workout 3 times last week. And I did have a cheat day when DH and I went to the movies and I had popcorn and choc-covered raisins! :confused3

So, my weight loss for week two was 1lb. Better than nothing! Heading to the gym after work today...wish me luck in week 3!

Like you said 1 pound is better than nothing. One thing I learned with this lifestyle change is to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and move forward. And awesome job working out 3 times last week with a sick household. You go girl! :cheer2:

I'm thinking about starting Weight Watchers. They are actually going to meet at the YMCA where I work out. How convenient is that. Their having an informative meeting Monday, 2/23. Until then, I'm going to watch what I eat & continue to work out. I'll keep you posted Kam.

Keep up the good work! :thumbsup2

hey everyone! I have been MIA for the past two weeks....mainly because I took a fall and hurt my back pretty bad. The doctors think it is sciatica, but Ihave an appt with an orthopedist on Thursday. SO I have not been working out which has made me so mad!!!! I have been doing WW points, so that is good. I never updated week 3, so here goes! I lost 3lbs in week 3!!!!:cool1:
I did workout 3 days that week, so that was good. But for week 4, which I weigh in tomorrow....no workouts! So I am a little scared. We will see what happens! So for now, thanks for listening and lets see if I can get a lose for week 4! :goodvibes

Hidy ho neighbors!

Kamy, I completely understand. I've been MIA myself. I've been working, taking care of things, etc. Sorry to hear about your fall. Hope it isn't serious. I've watched my Mom go through several back problems. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Congratulations on losing 3lbs in week 3! I hope you lose tomorrow too! You go girl! I weigh in Monday so I'll let you know.

Ya'll keep up the good work! Have a magical night!

ouch!! kamy so sorry to hear of your injury! take care!!

Hi everyone! Thanks for keeping up with me.
Well, I did skip week 4 here. I maintained, no loss that week. I was a little disappointed, but thats ok!
It is end of week 5 and I weighed in this morning and lost 2lbs! So that brings me to 11lbs lost so far and I got my new 10lb clippie:cool1:

My workouts have not been as often as I would have liked lately. Only twice this past week. My goal this week is to workout 4 times, so I hope to make it happen!:goodvibes

As for my back, that goodness I do not have a slipped disc! :thumbsup2 Doctor said to take it slowly, stay away from squats and free weights. So that is good news.

Hope you are all doing well out there and thanks for your support! 11lbs gone, only 54 more to go! ;)
