There's another thread on this board about this. Someone else got this as well. Was told my CM that they would book it now for them in advance. Obviously, these CM's aren't doing what Disney normally does, but it seems obvious that the promotion will be for free park hopping and water parks.

Oh yeah, Typhoon Lagoon will be closed during this promotion.

I posted this elsewhere but I find it interesting that some people are being allowed to book it in advance. I called on Saturday and was told under no circumstances can they give a promotional deal until released and the girl I spoke to would not even confirm there was deal. I told them others are saying thaey are being allowed to book and was told this was impossible. I spoke to AAA and basically got the same story although they did know of a deal scheduled to come out on 11/3.

I'm not surprised. I mean this in all sincerity - It's not the CM's fault. It seems as though Disney has no policy regarding stuff like this. You get different stories from every CM you talk to.

I'm not worried about it. I'll literally save more money by joining AAA, getting their discount. It's not much, but it beats $37.

Do you think this pkg. will be free hopping and waterparks with a rack rate room???? If so I won't go for it. We have AAA room only discount and I have one waterpark visit left on old tickets that we had planned to use. We are going one week in late Feb/early March and wouldn't go to the waterpark more than one day anyway.

I'm really hoping for free hopping and some sort of room discount on this possibl pkg. deal. :wizard:

Unfortunately, it appears so. There are several threads on this. We're all hoping for a room discount, and I would have bet on one, but from all recent reports, it's only going to be park hopping and water parks.

Sorry bud - I feel the same way you do.

How do you explain the drop in the Best Rate Plan rates then?

Wasn't even aware of those.

I'm very confused about the BRP. That's only available to AP holders, correct?

Right, just AP holders. But with the "Best Rate Plan", the AP holders are guaranteed to pay the lowest PUBLIC rate on the room. The rates autimatically drop as public rates become lower. Public rates include codes available to anyone, not pin codes, AAA, etc.

About a week ago, several people who were booked for certain dates (mid Jan thru early Feb I think) saw their rates drop to about what the pin code rates were. This sorta indicates that these rates will become public soon. Since Disney's a money making operation like eveyone's been saying, I doubt they did that out of the goodness of their hearts. There must be a reason...

Maybe just wishful thinking

I noticed on another thread, that BRP dropped to just $389 for 7 nights at ASMovies in early February (week I am going). So, with an AP, total is under $800. That's less than what I'd pay for a package. Problem is, I don't have the $400 right now for an AP. Too bad you can't put a deposit down, and pay it off like you do a package.

Not that it matters much anyways - I'm unable to even purchase an AP online at disneyworld.com.

I hear ya...but it does give me some hope that there's going to be a room discount part of the special.

Another possibilty that I thought up in my crazy head...since the discount code isn't in CR's computer yet, maybe its not pulling up the discounts on the rooms. It could be applying the free hopper/water park, and when the room rates of the discount come out, the packages will be adjusted. Just a thought.

Where was the thread about the other people who booked under the new code?

Just a couple threads below this one. My name is listed as the last one posting.

I think it was mentioned in the other thread, but it bears repeating. IMO, those that are booking this "deal" most likely have a PIN attached to their name in the system. I was offered this "deal" after asking if a PIN was attached to my name (which it was).

I didn't bite. My AAA discount is much better. My fingers are still crossed that some kind of room discount will also be applied.

How is this enticing at all? If disney is slow Jan-March and the Avg High in those months is around 70, why would they offer this? ON top of that, if it's sooo slow in those months, why would anyone even need a park hopper? For instance, I am staying at WL for 6 nights and got a 5 day base pass. This "promotion" would NOT help me. They would add on these incentives. It's still gonna cost me the same as what I started with. Like I said in a previous thread...my TA told me her disney source revealed that our stay would have to be atleast 5 NIGHTS in order for us to be eligible for the package discount. All this seems way off to me. I know most of us are in the same boat and I'm preaching to the choir....but cmon' now...there had better be something else! :guilty:
