It costs to park at the resorts now?

So, I'm surfing around in the internet looking at Disney resorts. Somewhere along the way, I stumbled across some info. I accidentally clicked away and can't find that info again. But I thought it said it cost to park at the on site resorts when you stay there. I think it was like $25\day. Did I see correctly? It costs approximately the same amount to park at your hotel if you stay on site as it does to park at the parks if you stay off site??

I feel that it is very unfair to charge the parking fee at the resorts. If they don't charge for Magical Express.....why charge people who help keep the costs of ME down? Obviously, they can't be worried about people parking at a resort to avoid the fee of parking at the parks....because we have to show our ID when we arrive and I am assuming that the gate attendant is checking the list to make sure we are truly registered.....and then after we are registered, we need to use our magic band to get through the barrier. Again, I'm assuming that our Magic Band is relaying information that indeed we are registered at that hotel.

They want people using DME. That would mean you've not rented a car. No rental car, more dependence upon Disney transport, and far less likely to leave the bubble..

Plus, the cost of ME is built into room rates (so all resort guests pay for it whether they use it or not). I agree that the parking fee is to reduce the number of rental cars and keep people in the WDW bubble. If it was for actual use of the parking lot (to cover maintenance), they would charge day guests too, not just overnight guests.
