Me too, then Josh folds them.

So I’ve officially started packing - 2 weeks early!!

I want to start too! I may start putting things in piles, but the suitcase we use is my aunt's and she took it to FL for this week.

Single Digit Dance

We have officially hit single digits in our countdown! Only 9 days until we’re at the Happiest Place on Earth!! And I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than with yummy food pictures!

But first, I forgot to tell you all about the other exciting thing that happened on our anniversary... our MagicBands arrived!! It really was a great day!

Now back to the yummy food... We didn’t really try a lot of snacks on our last trip, so we are really excited to try a bunch of different things this time!

My Top 5 Must-Have Snacks
5. Whoopie Pies – These look so good! I’ve seen that these are available several places, so if we don’t get one when we’re out in the parks, I’m pretty sure I’ll be getting one from our food court to take home.

4. Macaroni and Cheese – Eight Spoons Café at AK – This looks soooo good! I can’t decide between the pulled pork version and the regular version. We may need to get both.

3. Peanut Butter Pie – Contempo Café at Contemporary Resort – I hope that they still have this. It looks delicious!!

2. Duo (White and Dark Chocolate Mousse Cake) – Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie in the French Pavilion at EPCOT - I’ve been to the World Showcase on 3 of my 4 trips and I’ve still never been to any of the yummy bakeries. I am particularly looking forward to this one and chocolate mousse is my favorite!!

1. Popcorn – I love popcorn!! It is one of my favorite foods. We got the refillable tub last trip and refilled it almost every day. Unfortunately, I was too full to try any of the other yummy snacks, so I am going to have to really limit myself this time.

5. Flower and Garden Festival Frozen Drinks – EPCOT - I love slushies, so I am very excited to make my way around the world trying several of the refreshing frozen drinks that they have for the F&GF - Pictured: Watermelon Cucumber Slush (Alcoholic or Non-Alcoholic) at Florida Fresh, Frozen Italian Margarita with Limoncello and Tequila at Primavera Kitchen, and Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade (Non-alcoholic) at Pineapple Promenade

4. Triple Yeti Blast Margarita – Warung Outpost at Animal Kingdom – I really liked the lime margarita that we had on our last trip. I’m not usually a fan of margaritas, but this one was really good! I am really looking forward to trying all 3 flavors this time.

3. S’mores Latte – Revive in Tomorrowland at MK – We are planning to get the refillable mugs so we can get coffee at our resort, instead of standing in lines at the park, but I just don’t think that I can pass up the S’more Latte at the new Joffrey’s cart in Tomorrowland

2. Seven Seas Lagoon Cocktail – Wave Lounge at Contemporary Resort – a giant alcoholic drink with candy, mickey straws, and a glow cube! This is a must have for me!!

1. My #1 must have snack is the Captain’s Pineapple (dole whip and rum) at The Drop Off Pool at the Art of Animation Resort. The dole whip with rum at the Animal Kingdom was probably one of my favorite things that we had on our last trip. I love the way the rum offsets the tartness of the pineapple flavor. So when I heard that it was now at AOA, which is only a short walk across the bridge from POP, I was soooo excited!! I have literally been having dreams about this drink! I think I am more excited about this than any other part of our trip. I may just relax by the pool with my Captain’s Pineapple every day!

We rushed our packing during our 2015 trip somehow it was my fault I didn't pack DH's sunglasses.... (ok grumpy!) and we started off the trip arguing and DH being upset he had to spent like $35 for terrible sunglasses from the gift shop! lol.

Thanks! It's actually an HR-V. It's a new model that they came out with last year. It's a little smaller than the CR-V, which I like because I'm short. Plus, it cost a little less, so we could afford the higher model with the sunroof and heated seats. We got it to replace DH's CR-V that we had to turn in, but now I've stolen this one and he drives my old car. I just love it!!

It's weird, but it still doesn't feel completely real. I am excited though and I'm proud of myself for starting to pack already! Last trip, we waited until the night before and I was sooo tired that I just threw things in the suitcases and we spent the whole week trying to figure out what was in what bag, because we couldn't find anything. Plus my tired brain decided to pack both of DH's belts in the checked luggage. Well that luggage didn't arrive until after dinner, so DH had to walk around DS hoping that his pants wouldn't fall down.

I think they also have it at the Polynesian Resort, but its called the Spikey Pineapple there.
The one at Animal Kingdom was so good though! DH and I got one to share and then were mad that we didn't each get our own. Well mostly he was upset, because I ate most of it.

Blast From the Past

The Animal Kingdom opened 19 years ago today. Which also means that it was 19 years ago this week that I first went to Disney World!!! (My mom can't remember the exact dates, but we know we were there around the time that AK opened and my dad's birthday on the 26th, so we'll just say it was this week). In honor of this special anniversary, I decided to post some pictures from my first trip. I hope you're ready to laugh at some really terrible clothes and hair! (the Florida humidity any my hair do not get along!)

Look how long Pluto's tongue used to be!! Also, why do I have a hat on my head and another on my wrist?? and yet neither of them is keeping the sun out of my eyes and why did my parents buy me boy's shoes?

Yep, I'm wear matching shirt and shorts, both embroidered with Winnie the Pooh! and this was 1998, so that thing hanging on my pants isn't a cell phone holder, no its a sunglasses holder, because evidently wearing them on your head was just crazy!

Yes, your seeing that right... I'm wearing jean overall shorts that are embroidered with Tigger! Where did my mom even find these clothes?!?

This was at AK the week that it opened. Also an outfit that looks almost normal!

Here we are dressed as highlighters at the Flower and Garden Festival; you can almost see the Fantasia Hippo topiary behind us; that is if you're not blinded by our matching neon shorts!

Reminder to Self - Don't wear my hair pulled back; I look bald.

I didn't even notice anything until you said this and then I looked at the picture again. You don't look bald!! You look great! If anything, the wall color just blends with your hair color.

Moana was new for me too and I really liked it! The soundtrack is so catchy, I find myself randomly singing it.

However, right now my list is just basically every bakery at Disney World.

Although I will say, the sugar cookies in the shape of a gingerbread Mickey with the chocolate dipped ears and white chocolate red pants, etc?? Those taste like cardboard. I was so disappointed!!

JcPenney had his favorite shorts on sale for $24.99 and then they had a $10 off $25 coupon. You’re supposed to have to buy something else to go over $25, but in store, the coupon works as long as it is over $25 including tax. So I got him 2 pairs of shorts for $32!

I caught this same sale when doing my own shopping for shorts!!

In other news, my cousin is at Disney World today! She is marching in the parade tomorrow at the Magic Kingdom with her high school band!

That is so exciting!! I love when kids get to have that experience!!

The wait for these always feels like torture. I check the tracking every day that I'm waiting, and I hate the system they use to ship them. I was so sad to realize I wouldn't be getting that Daisy luggage tag with my pink band because I booked room only with my AP It's so cute!!

90s kids fashion is the best. I also had overall shorts, 3 different pairs - Winnie the Pooh, Tweety Bird, and Hedwig from Harry Potter When I saw those start showing up in stores like Forever 21 again last summer, I was like noooooo! I had plenty of neon clothing items too. And sometimes I look at old pictures and think, does it get anymore awesomely 90s than that Lion King shirt?

I'm Going To Disney World Today!!

It's after midnight, so I'm officially going to Disney World TODAY!! It honestly still doesn't feel real. I'm so excited!!!

I have been meaning to post our itinerary, but this last week has been crazy with getting ready for the trip, plus my big work project! I am so ready for this vacation!

I'm also including pictures of the shirts I made for us, since I haven't had time to post those yet either.

Stop for breakfast – I want to eat a good breakfast, because last time I was too excited to eat and then I got a terrible headache.

Arrive at airport by 11:30am – we’re flying out of smaller terminal this time; which I hope means that it will be less crowded

Lunch/Dinner at Earl of Sandwich – There is an Earl of Sandwich in this terminal at the airport! I want to get sandwiches for us to take on the plane and eat.

Not Homecomin’ – I wanted to go to Homecomin’ but they don’t allow same day reservations (at least not when I checked on the app) and I’m worried about our flight coming in later than planned, so I didn’t want to make an ADR. I think we will try to pick a day to go there later in the week.

QS at DS or hang at hotel/AOA for Captain’s Pineapple – We may still go to DS for dinner, but I think that we will likely be tired from traveling and just want to hang out at our hotel. We will probably walk across to AOA for the Captain’s Pineapple. I can’t wait!

We went in Disneyland with no kids. I didn't really know what it was going in, it just happened to be staying. It's so cute! So don't worry, it's not awkward! We did Enchanted Tales with Belle with no kids too lol.

I Survived My Sister’s Wedding!​

I’m back!! I’ve missed the DISboard so much!!! I’ve been wanting to start my TR for our May vacation for a while now, but I had to ban myself from the boards in order to get everything done for my sister’s wedding. Actually, I told myself that I was allowed to write about Disney once I wrote my Maid of Honor speech, but I was really dreading that, so I kept procrastinating and it didn’t get done until 4 days before the wedding and really I was still making changes to it the night before. But I did it! I wrote my speech and read it in front of all of our family and friends. I don’t think I’ve ever been more nervous in my entire life; not even at my own wedding!

My wedding was a lot more relaxing too! Being my sister's Maid of Honor was possibly the hardest job ever! I spent the entire day running all over making sure that everything and everyone was where they were supposed to be. My sister is lucky that I love her! I had to have walked at least 20,000 steps! I was so sore and exhausted the next day that I told DH it was worse than when we walked all of Epcot and the World Showcase one night and then got up the next day and did it again! Wedding exhaustion was worse than Disney exhaustion. It took me about 2 weeks to recover! But it’s all over now and I can get back to thinking about Disney all the time!


Before I start my new TR, I wanted to do a little recap of real life (but somewhat Disney related) things that I wanted to post about since we got back from Disney...

The day after we got back from Disney, was my sister’s bridal shower. Fortunately, I had planned everything before we left and my mom finished up a couple last minute things for me while we were gone. The theme of the shower was Beauty and the Beast, but we tried to pick subtle decorations, so that it didn’t look like a child’s birthday party. I think we did a pretty good job. Keeping with the fact that Beauty and the Beast is set in France, the shower was held at a local French Bistro.

The lanterns were decorated on 3 sides... the other sides had a Rose and the words "Tale as Old as Time"

and of course we had to have the Grey Stuff; it's delicious! I got a couple of the napkins while we were at Disney for added decor.​

Also, while we were at Disney, I got my sister this Be Our Guest platter. She really liked it.

​

But she said the best gift of all, was the card that I got her. It was a Beauty and the Beast bridal shower card that I took with us to Disney and had Belle sign!

​

In other news, I bought a new swimsuit and its Minnie Mouse print!! I can’t wait to plan another trip so that I can wear it!! Although we still haven’t been to either of the water parks and we didn’t even go to the pool once on our last trip. I guess we’re going to have to make a point to go on the next trip!

Obviously this is the model and not me. I'm super pale like a ghost! ​

Also, after it had been out for a few weeks, we finally found time to go see Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Baby Groot is adorable and I’m sad that we didn’t make time to go see him while we were there , but his meets didn’t start until our last park day and we thought that it would be too crowded and we didn't want to spend our last day in line for one meet and greet.

​

On May 25th, DH turned 34. (Also, he has started wearing some of his Disney shirts, even when we’re not at the parks!)

​

On June 9th, Donald Duck and I had a birthday and I turned 30!

The other day DH was reading online and he got all excited and was like "guess what holiday is on your birthday".
Of course it's Donald Duck Day!! Why would he think think that I wouldn't know that!? We're birthday buddies!
​

Being 30 started out a little rough (I pulled a muscle in my back and could barely move off the couch for four days ), but it has gotten much better.

Since we will probably never go to Disney on my birthday (June is way too hot for us ), DH got me a button while we were there, so that I could still "Disney Celebrate" at home.
​

My niece made me the most adorable coffee mug! It's her handprint!! DH has been warned that it can't even go near the dishwasher.

​

DH also bought me lots of nice gifts. Do you think he knows that I like Disney?

I'm thinking of decorating our guest room Lilo and Stitch themed, so of course the plushies were necessary! and I got my new Stitch mug! I was going to get one on our trip, but they only had one style (the personalities one that said loyal) and I didn't really care for it. Then, they came out with this new one a couple weeks after we got home. So he ordered it to surprise me. It may be dangerous that he learned how to use the Shop Disney app. ​

After seeing the preview of Dead Men Tell No Tales at HS, I was really interested in the pirate movies and so we had a Pirates of the Caribbean movie marathon. I had only ever seen parts of the first one. I never thought that I would like them, but I really did. Some of them were kind of long and drawn out, but overall good.

DH's reaction when I told him that I had never fully watched any of the PotC movies! ​

Then we went to see Cars 3 and Pirates 5-Dead Men Tell No Tales at the drive-in. Both were good, but neither were my favorite for their series. Although my opinion might have been affected by the fact that I don’t really love the drive in (DH does, so I agree to go once or twice a summer). On one hand, I do love that I can talk and make comments during the movie (like for a movie called Dead Men Tell No Tales, that dead guy sure told a lot of tales!! ), but I don’t like that other people feel like it is ok to be excessively loud in the cars next to us. It’s like, just because there is a door, doesn’t mean that I can’t hear you, your windows are open! So halfway through Cars 3, the teenage girl in the truck next to us starts hysterically crying, like ridiculously loud. From what we could understand, it seemed like she had just gotten dumped; which is sad, but seriously non-stop loud crying for almost an hour!?! We put our windows up and tried to ignore her, but it definitely distracted from my movie experience.

He didn't really want to wear his shirt that day, but I guilted him into it and then the guy at the concession stand said it was cool, so then it was ok. ​

626 Day was last week. Lilo and Stitch is my favorite movie, but we didn't end up seeing Stitch at all on our last trip.

This is me and my sister with Stitch at the 'Ohana breakfast in 2014. I'm thinking about booking this for me and DH on our next trip.​

If you stayed with me through all of that, then get excited, because I saved the best update for last… We picked the dates for our next trip!! We decided on February 24, 2018 to March 3, 2018. This is the equivalent week to when I went in 2014 and I really loved that time of year. There were very mild temperatures and fairly light crowds, so I’m hoping for that again. Crowds were somewhat affected by the Princess Half-Marathon, but it wasn’t too bad last time. Also, we should get to see the beginning of the 25th Anniversary of the Flower and Garden Festival! I don’t think that they have announced the dates yet, but this year it started on March 1st, so hopefully they stick with that.

So halfway through Cars 3, the teenage girl in the truck next to us starts hysterically crying, like ridiculously loud. From what we could understand, it seemed like she had just gotten dumped; which is sad, but seriously non-stop loud crying for almost an hour!?! We put our windows up and tried to ignore her, but it definitely distracted from my movie experience.

Oh no... I mean, that's sad, but I don't think I'd want to stay at the drive in to be sad... unless I was going to sing a song from the swing set.

25th Anniversary of the Flower and Garden Festival!

I want to go so bad! I think we're going in January because our APs expire at the end of February And we're going to Disneyland at the beginning of April (I mean, we're going to SoCal for a wedding, so how could we not go to Disneyland?)... So it might be hard to justify another trip in the Spring, especially having to add ticket costs. Plus DF does not get very much vacation time, especially compared to me.
