The Half Marathon – Mouseketeers!
Another early morning was upon us and Keels was up and practically done getting ready before I was even out of bed. Go girl! This costume was pretty simple and I didn’t have to carry anything in my hands so I was happy. I got ready and went to make a Nuun and realized I didn’t have any water. I grabbed some waffles and a Nuun tablet to bring with me to the pre-race stuff so I figured I would be good. Well, I wasn’t. I get to the meet up and I am just grumpy. (I am going to blame the fact that I didn’t bring shots for before the Half Marathon…) I go to the gear check and they wanted to change how they were labeling the bags and the person in front of me was still putting things in their bag instead of taking care of that in line. I was just all kinds of not happy. I was trying to find water and I couldn’t. So I get back to the meet up and I am just complaining so much. But then @roxymama says hi to me and I said hi back and gave her a hug but it definitely wasn’t the meetup I had planned (Roxy you looked super cute BTW!). What I had realized was that I was pretty dehydrated and feeling real terrible and I had to go run a Half Marathon. !
Ok, so this is gonna sound mental. But I felt like something was "off" with the group when I came over to say hi and I told myself it was because most of you all were on the second or third day straight of early wakeup while I was still pretty chipper, etc. But I was thinking "do they secretly not like me and are like "ugh roxymama." But obviously that was a dumb thought (hopefully.)
Wish I would have butted into the conversation more because I love going into hen-mom mode and probably would have found you a full keg of water if I could have.
I woke up at 2:45 without the help of my alarm, so the day was already off for me. Plus, I really don’t like the half marathon course ... so ... I’ll take the blame for this one.
Thank you!YES!! Great report on the half and you Mouseketeers are all so adorable. I love all your pictures, but that parking lot beer one with the sun beaming down on you from above is perfection!!!
I already committed and backed out of Dopey a million times in my head.So Dopey again?![]()
Thanks Lee!That last photo is profile pic worthy. Great recap.
You know how KK donuts are just like straight sugar that melts in your mouth? It was basically like taking a KK donut flavored Gu. And I am now trademarking that idea!!! And yes, that parking lot beer was definitely majestic.Awesome recap! I cannot imagine having a donut duirng a half, I think I'd yak it up, but glad it made you feel better! The one time I did Dopey, the night of the 10K/morning of the half was the absolute worst I felt all weekend, so I feel your pain!!
And this picture:
is so awesome!! It's like the heavens are shining down upon you as you take in the majesty that is the parking lot beer.![]()
They can be! I mean, it's running through WDW!sounds like a the races were a lot of fun
Awww, you're too sweet! And I would like a donut always. You and Bree are seriously the cutest/hottest/best! Great job!
(And now I'd like a donut please...)
Thanks!Glad you figured out why you were feeling grumpy from dehydration.
Looks like a fun race for you. Bree seems to be the best running buddy for you! I love your finish line photos.
Cheers to that! That is great picture of the parking lot beer. I always say that morning beer is best beer!
Soooo yeah. Next time we meet it will be a much better experience and if I am acting like that again just shake me and ask me W T F is wrong. LOL. A keg of water would have been amazing right then.Ok, so this is gonna sound mental. But I felt like something was "off" with the group when I came over to say hi and I told myself it was because most of you all were on the second or third day straight of early wakeup while I was still pretty chipper, etc. But I was thinking "do they secretly not like me and are like "ugh roxymama." I tried realllllly hard to look for you while we were running but was unsuccessful!Great recap and love the pictures. I was laughing reading the group texts and it helped me know when you all were getting to the Magic Kingdom since I hadn't met a lot of you personally yet. Love the outfits!
Seriously! Can we get an aid station for that trek?? Haha. The outfits were very cute and made it easier to find you all.
I too was in need of water and think if they want the ‘welcome plaza’ to be welcoming they should have water to sustain people to the 2 mile trek to the corrals.
Perfect!I already committed and backed out of Dopey a million times in my head.
I failed to realize while I thought the idea of mid-run donut sounded odd a local store has a donut run every weekend. Both are local small business and I always think I want to do it but then think it may end poorly. I am encouraged that it worked well for @jennamfeo , maybe that will be the push for me to join.We have a local race where you run to the Krispy Kreme, eat as many donuts as you can, then run back. I second that those donuts are great during a race!
That about sums it up, haha. I may use this to close my TR with.DRINK, EAT, parks, sleep, RACE... repeat...
