It’s a...WDWKOOK LIVE TRIP of FIRSTS! TRIP SUMMARY PAGE 17!

Following! Can't wait to see what you think of Beach Club- it's one of my favorites! Love the smell in the lobby and SAB:cloud9: We had a lake view when we stayed at BLT and I just loved watching the sun rise and the resort come to life in the morning!
I tried BC cl in November. I loved the taffy on the table and grabbed some as I walked by each time!

Also the food was better than poly and cr too!

CM's were not as nice as WL but nice enough. They tried to keep things well stocked and clean which honestly makes a trip go more smoothly!

Great picture!

I love giraffes so much that I finally bit the bullet and last month I purchased a few of the hand carved ones that you find at the outside marketplace/kiosk in Africa in AK. I have been eyeballing these for the last 3 years so I saved my $$ and got them. Had to have them shipped to my home because they were too big but I now have them up on my fireplace mantle and I just love to look at them.

Awesome pic ;).

I could spend all day with the majestic goats!View attachment 192990

What a cute pic! :goodvibes

A quick stop over at Kidani for some naan bread and lamb sliders at Saana ended up a 30 min wait for a bus, ridiculous. But, the sliders were delicious and had goat cheese on them. I ate in the lounge.

Sorry about the wait for the bus, but glad your meal was delicious. Those sliders look good ::yes::.

Our first day on Monday at MK there was like a 20 minute wait on Peoplemover because apparently someone vomited in one of the cars and they had to shut the thing down for awhile.

Did some WL recon yesterday, had the boat all to myself! I have lots of construction and merchandise photos I'll post soon. Spoiler alert: The merch. hasn't changed a bit. With the expansion and name changes, I'm not surprised.

Heading over soon to check-in at BC...I'm very excited and curious!

Our first and last CL was at the WL. We had checked in just a few days after they closed the Old Faithful Club and moved the lounge to the temporary location in the hallway. It was a huge disappointment because I had heard so many good things about their club level but most of the things that I was looking forward to were not there during our stay. We decided to never stay at club level again. It isn't worth it to us.

Did you hear any noise from the monorail? It seems like it might be a noisy place.

I like their salmon but they really need to serve rice instead of couscous. ::yes::

I don't know how many rooms this lounge would serve, but it seems small to me. The view is nice, though. :)

Now I remember, yes, OFC. Really terrible timing for your first experience. I can appreciate your reluctance to ever stay CL again, however, I do think your first try was an unfortunate unique event that isn't indicative of future CL stays under more ideal circumstances.

I've stayed in the Tower many times and I've never been bothered by the monorail, until this time. At 0600 today, the monorail seemed to be at the foot of my bed! I was awakened to a long loop of DING, DING, DING...DING DONG, DING DONG, DING DONG, followed by muffled automatic announcements. This went on for about 15 minutes. It was as if they brought it out of the monorail barn and its first stop for testing was here. I'm at the far north end, near BLT, as I asked to be far away from CM.

There is painting work going on which moves around CR and I can see them inside some Grand Villas at BLT. Some vehicles starting beeping around 0715. I assume it's moving equipment around for staging.

I'm definitely enjoying it, thanks for taking us along! And that is an amazing view :cloud9:.

Hope the rain holds out for another couple of days :).

I also think the lounge looks small and I agree that the view is very nice ;).

You're welcome:). The lounge is very small with only 4 tables. This will be Day 4 without rain, but I think this is it, but I'm grateful for it, especially on "moving day."

Have to say though it is the luck of the draw. Some trips I can imagine people don't use the lounge and stay in their suites and you would have the lounge to yourself.

Glad you moved so you will enjoy the rest of your trip!

Going to try to read up some more/been busy getting both kids to college!

My DD has been at college since 8/21 and I'm so relieved she loves it. Is your DD a senior? It makes this trip so much better for me knowing she's happy and settled. She's been really indulgent with all my texts:rolleyes1

No regrets at all about moving and I even seem to still have a credit from the price difference.

I thought there would be hardly anyone in the lounge, too and the food would be tasty and there would be a good variety. I've never found most of the CR CMs warm and friendly though, so that met expectations.

Heading over to BC soon. This will be strange checking in to a Deluxe resort for the first time. I've stayed at them all and some many times, so this will be an interesting adventure!

I also love to get the chocolate covered pineapple wedges.

The ones on Main Street at the Confectionary? My DH loves those, too.

Great picture!

Thank you. Thought of you when I saw them on my way out from Kilimanjaro.

I've heard that the scent is sandalwood.

I love your giraffe picture. :)

Thank you and it was a wonderful scent. People seem to love the BC scent so I'm ready to take it all in soon! My past visits to BC while I've been at YC, made me uneasy because the lobby was always so chaotic in comparison to YC and it was much noisier, which we didn't like. I'm hoping my off-season stay will yield a more positive BC opinion.

Kinda looks like a relaxing day, Kook (minus the always annoying bus wait)!

My family would say it's not very relaxing at all because I'm almost always on the go. But, for me, it's relaxing because I'm doing everything I want to do at my own pace and I'm not worrying about anyone else, so that's very relaxing! I am going to try and relax at SAB after DHS and after my luggage gets delivered. I actually didn't get a chance to do that here at CR.

This sounds wonderful! :cloud9: Enjoy your day at DHS and relaxing at SAB.

Now I must go clean something.

Thank you for taking us on this journey! We are checking in to the GF RPC for the first time ever on 9/26. Can't wait to see your photos from there.

Have a wonderful trip!!

The thing that I discovered from the experience is that it doesn't fit the way we like to eat and drink. We really enjoyed having drinks and appetizers in Territory Lounge, for example, but we never stepped foot in it when we had the lounge to go to. The same with breakfast at Roaring Forks. It is the same reason we don't do the dining plan. Neither club level nor the DDP work for the way we do Disney. :)

I really hope that you have a good experience at the Beach Club, since it is one of our favorite resorts and the one we have stayed at the most often. :)

Your trip report is such a treat for me to open up and read each day!
I'm sorry your CR CL stay didn't go as planned, but I'm glad you were able to switch to a regular room (that view!).
Hope you are enjoying BC -- it was our family favorite for many, many years.
However, I'm most excited for you to arrive at RPC! Can't wait to hear your thoughts!

Thanks for taking us along and keeping us informed :).

So about Beach Club:rolleyes1

I left CR around 9:00 and walked to MK to board a YC/BC bus. At that hour, they have one bus for all of the BW Resorts. You just let the driver know which one you're going to. They also start dispatching buses to resorts at 6:00 for early breakfast ADRs. Same process, tell the driver where you need to go.

I arrived before 10:00 and the lobby was chaotic and noisy, just as other times I've been passing through. My room was ready, which was very nice and the CM even let me have a choice of a few rooms, but the others were on the ground floor which I didn't want. This was my garden/woods view:

The room decor had been recently freshened, but the air had not. Not sure what the issue was, but it smelled musty/moldy. The view and lack of usable balcony was disappointing and the room felt like it was in another resort. Lots of twists and turns to finally get to it so I felt very isolated, in a creepy kind of way. I felt like I was in a tomb.

I wasn't feeling it at all for BC, but I guess that's not a new feeling for me. But, I thought I'd warm up to it if I was staying there. I was cold, very cold and I knew I'd feel miserable in that room so I left after a couple of minutes and walked over to YC where we've stayed a couple of times. I talked with a wonderful GSM who looked and said it didn't seem promising as they were full with a convention, but he would do what he could. He said he'd update me at 2:00.

After DHS, where, by the way, I was told by a CM that it was their lowest attendance day of the season thus far, I stopped at BWI and sat in the lobby a bit. I figured if I didn't hear good news from the manager, I could ask for availability there. The YC manager called around 2:00 with good news. He took care of everything and I didn't even have to go back to BC. Within 30 minutes I had the room text and was in my room and happy.

It's classified as a Lagoon View, and I'm very happy with it, but if I had paid for it, I would be disappointed by all the obstructions. Right now, however, I have a perfect Illuminations view from my bed. Balcony view to right:

I really wanted to like BC, but it just isn't for me. It's great though that WDW offers such a great variety of resorts - there's something for everyone. My overall favorite resort remains a Tower room at CR, but it's fun trying different ones and I look forward to RPC on Sunday.

Went to Epcot after unpacking. Afternoon wait times were unbelievable:

Ate at San Angel. Not sure why I ever go back there, must be the Margarita?! The service is always meh and they serve you within minutes after you order. I had just gotten the limes for my Margarita when my meal came out. Literally, it was about 5 minutes after I ordered. It must be a nostalgia thing with me that draws me back. Years ago we'd go and it was good. I like the ambience and the decor is charming, and oh, did I mention the Margarita?

I am sorry that you didn't like the BC. It was great that the YC could get you a room and so quickly. That happened to us at the YC once. We made so many turns to get to the room that we didn't think we would make it back to the elevator. I don't like that about those resorts. Can't wait to hear about the GF.

Well, Geez Kook :guilty:
It makes us sad you have had not so good luck with your room assignments on the first try. After sharing with Mr Lodge Captain, I'm kinda glad he and DS always dug their heels in and insisted we stay put in our favorite room at WL. But, this is your trip of firsts and a lot of firsts you are having! What did you have to eat at EPCOT. We like to snack around the world. Well, now I see you ate/drank ;) in Mexico. I'm thinking the drink(s) were better than the eats. WOW those wait times REALLY are unbelievable!

Enjoy Illuminations!!
