"It’s a Nice Song, but They Won’t Stop Singing!!” A June 2013 TR LAST Update!!! 12/11

Yoga on surfboards looks like the most relaxing workout in the world!!!
Beautiful pictures!

You're killing me, smalls!!! No Chick-fil-a in the northeast? First time eating at Cheesecake Factory? Please remind me why you live up there if it's just snowy and (obviously) has no wonderfully bad-for-you foods. :lmao: Seriously though, I can for sure never leave the south. We had Chick-fil-a for dinner tonight. YUM!!!

Your beach pictures are great & so much fun! I really thought that was cool that people were doing yoga on surfboards.

I love your sunset pictures. One of my favorite things to do on vacation is to watch sunrises and sunsets. Yoga on surfboards looks interesting. ;)

My uncle has a vacation home in Naples. It is a nice area of Florida, but not very close to WDW.

Thank you! Beaches are so beautiful! Naples is such a nice area!! You're right though, not close to Disney! Not close enough at all! :goodvibes

I think it would be if I had better balance, but it seems very beautiful!

Thank you!

:rotfl2:

I ask myself that same question...why do I live up here?? The move to Florida is definitely looking better and better on my horizon after college!!

Thank you! It was so much fun! I thought it was cool too! Although, I'd never be able to do it! :rotfl:

It's DISNEY TIME!
June 20, 2013
Day 4

This morning we woke up at 6:00am because IT WAS DISNEY DAY!!!!!!! We showered and packed and got ready! We were out the door by 7:15am. We stopped to get coffee and bagels at Dunkin Donuts and a gas station to get gas.

Caramel Swirl Iced Coffee for me!

I was so excited!!!!!! It was a really long drive, and we had to stop twice for a bathroom break, but we finally saw this gorgeous sight around 11:15am.

We pulled into the Dolphin at 11:20 and checked in which took so long! Our room wasn’t ready, so we dropped our luggage off with luggage services, had another bathroom stop, and got back in the car to go to DTD!

YAYAYAYAYAYAY! I loved seeing this!

We had lunch at WPE!

I had the four cheese pesto pizza which was really yummy!!!

Mom had the rotisserie chicken which came with mashed potatoes. This was so boring, but it was still good! She was disappointed with the chicken!

Troy had the BBQ chicken pizza which was yummy, but he said he’s had better! LOL, of course ;)

After lunch we went over to Guest Relations to get Troy’s pass and to exchange mine for the new RFID card. I got Minnie and he got Donald! We said goodbye to Mom :( and headed to the bus stop. We got there around 12:45pm and a bus came 10 minutes later. The bus took so long to leave though! We were literally sitting there for another 10 minutes because they were switching drivers. We had to stop at Typhoon Lagoon first, but we finally got to the Dolphin by 1:25. We checked to see if our room was ready and the CM said that there were no rooms available for our length of stay, so he said he would put us in one room tonight and then transfer us to an upgraded room for the next two nights. It was a weird deal, but we were excited for the upgrade! Our first room was in the East Wing on the 10th floor, so we got our bags and went up.

I love these rooms! I know a lot of people don’t like the Swan and Dolphin for various reasons, and I understand that they aren’t in-your-face-Disney, but I really like them! The rooms are always SO nice! And the beds are FABULOUS! I love the location, and with a teacher discount, we can get these rooms for the price of a moderate! I don’t know, those are just my ideas. ANYWAY. Our view was amazing for the first night!!!!

Stroll on the Boardwalk
June 20, 2013
We dropped off our bags and then went for a walk along the Boardwalk.

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!!

PREPARE FOR PICTURES!!!!!

LIKE FAR TOO MANY PICTURES.

TURN BACK NOW!

LAST CHANCE…

Ok, I warned you!

SO MANY PICTURES
June 20, 2013

We walked on over to the Beach and Yacht club and checked both of the resorts out.

We started walking back over to the Dolphin when it started to sprinkle.

We got inside just before 2pm, and it POURED! AND STORMED! We watched the storm for a while out of our gorgeous window!

We turned on Stacey, and I made him watch the whole thing! LOL!

Dinner at the Fountain and a Lovely Illuminations Preview
June 20, 2013

We showered and got ready for dinner. We were going to go to Beaches and Cream or the ESPN Zone, but since it was still pretty rainy, we decided to stay in and eat at The Fountain which is one of my favorites!

We went down at around 5pm and were seated immediately.

We started with the onion rings because they are SO GOOD!

I ordered the buffalo chicken salad which was soooo good, but really spicey!! I loved it though! It was way too big to finish.

Troy ordered the BLT on white, and he said it was really good, but a bit boring!

We were done by 6pm, and we went for a walk out on the beach and around the pool to take some pictures and enjoy the evening.

The pool was closed because of the lightning.

We couldn’t stay out long because it was starting to rain again, so we ran back inside and came back to the room.

Troy was watching a 30 for 30 on ESPN, and it was actually an interesting one, so I think I watched some of it too! I caught up in my trip journal and went through my pictures so far. After his show was over, it was about 8pm, so we went down to the Fountain again to get shakes! It took so long because there were so many people and it seemed like they didn’t know how to wait in line!! After a very frustrating wait. We finally got our shakes at 8:40pm!

I got the peppermint shake which was amazing!!

Troy go the cocoloco which was chocolate, caramel, and malted milk balls which he loved!

We went back up to the room to see if we could catch some of Illuminations, and we could! It was awesome! We were just standing there, drinking our shakes, watching the top of Illuminations. It was so much fun! I tried to get some pictures, but it was hard to see the fireworks anyway!

We ended the night by watching the NBA Heat and Spurs final game- yes, I’m dating an athlete, until bed time. I fell asleep by 10, but Troy stayed up to watch the whole game. Silly boy! Doesn’t he know how long Disney days are??

My DH thinks that Dunkin Donuts is not the same down south, he says it's better up north. But I see Starbucks in your room, he would be all over that. No that was not to many pictures, loved them all. Seeing the Friendship Boats in your photos, I wondered if that was my DS GF driving them.

Hooray for arriving at Disney! I think I would stay at the Swolphin if need be, but I do think I'd miss all the little Disney touches! They're definitely in a great location though! Those milkshakes look YUMMY.

Oh, and I'm so glad you finally got to try Chick-Fil-A! It really is the best... my favorite! Their nuggets are incredible too! Ya know, for next time. ;)

Your pictures are all so lovely! And the room looks really nice! So cool that y'all could see Illuminations.

I soooo wish I had one of those shakes right now.

Hope y'all didn't have a lot more rain during the trip.

I love your pictures!!! You really do an awesome job capturing the BW/BC/YC area. It was fun to see your pics of the Swan and Dolphin rooms, and you had a great view! Can't wait to read more:)

It was nice to see pictures of the Dolphin. We usually stay at BC, but have been tempted to look into the Swan/Dolphin because the prices are so much lower. We wouldn't qualify for a teacher discount, though. I can't wait to see what your free upgrade looks like. :)

I think I agree with your DH! I don't know why! :rotfl: I like Starbucks, but Dunks is definitely my fave!! Thank you! LOL I love the Epcot resort area! It's so pretty! Oh, how exciting! I wished I had known about your DS GF! I would've said hi! :goodvibes

I do love the Disney touches at other resorts, but I just can't deny the location if the price is right! :rotfl2: THEY WERE SO GOOD! I love them!!! I want one now!!!!

I seriously love Chick-Fil-A SO MUCH! Thanks for the tip! I will most definitely order those next time!!

I would love to stay at BC, but it's hard to give up a teacher discount at the Dolphin! It's such a great area! I love it!! :goodvibes

Sonic, Chic-Fil-A, and Cheesecake Factory!!!! :cool1: Welcome to the South ;) Yummy, aren't they??!!

:yay: So y'all finally made it to Disney!!! Funny that Troy was embarrassed when you started going crazy over the Disney sign. Guess he better get use to it, huh?!

Your room location/view looks awesome!

...and by the way - NEVER to many pictures! ;)

Trip Report Title Alert!
June 21, 2013
Day 5

I woke up at 6am this morning. I was so tired from our travel and it was really hard to get moving! I was so excited though because it was our first park day!!!!! EEEE!!!!! I woke Troy up at about 6:20, and he got ready to go!

Warning! My first no-mom touring mistake up next:

We were going to Epcot for EMH hours that morning, so I thought it was a good idea to walk over to the International Gateway. So, we took off and got there around 7:10am and saw that it was gated shut and no one was around. I started to panic and texted mom and asked her if the IG was really open for EMH morning or not! We also noticed that the boats weren’t running, so I was getting so nervous about missing rope drop! Mom said that it should be, and that busses don’t run from the Dolphin to Epcot, so I was freaking out. We walked back to Guest Services and asked how to get there, and the lady just looked at me like I was stupid. I was so mad! I was so concerned about getting everything perfect for Troy’s first visit, and I didn’t want anything to go wrong! The Guest Services lady said that the boats start at 7:30am, so we ran back out and lo and behold a boat was waiting for us. Sigh. We got on, and at Yacht and Beach Club, the captain told us that it would be quicker to walk! Sigh. We got off, and started walking over to the International Gateway. IT WAS OPEN PEOPLE. THERE WAS NO GATE TO BE FOUND. Grrrr. I’m pretty sure that if we had just waited there, a CM would have opened the gate within 5 minutes. Now I know, but at the time I was not happy!

We got to the International Gateway turnstiles by 7:50am and waited in line. We were let in at 8:05 and booked it over to Soarin!

We were there 15 minutes later and there was only a 25 minute wait, so we hopped in line, but we only ended up waiting 15.

Troy loved it! He was so impressed! I wish I could’ve had a video on him through the whole thing! It was precious! His first Disney ride!

We went over to see the wait for Test Track.

It was 30 minutes, so we decided to get a FP and explore the rest of Future World.

We headed over to Mission:SPACE at 9am. Orange side, obviously- thank GOD my DBF is a thrill seeker too!

We were through the line in about 10 minutes, but after we finished the video, we had to wait for the next one which was another 10 minutes. We finally got on the ride, and after it begged us not to get on if we were feeling even slightly ill, we braved the warning messages and took our roles. Troy was the navigator and I was the pilot. It was really intense, but Troy loved it! He said he was surprised at how good the rides were! Yay! Mini victory dance!

We were starving, so we went back over to The Land to get something at Sunshine Seasons.

Troy got the adult breakfast platter which he said was decent- I mean it’s Disney eggs and bacon.

I got the croissant berry pudding, and about dumped Troy on the spot and eloped with it. Holy Guacamole. This this was literally the best piece of food I had ever tasted. It was SO GOOD. LOOK at this beauty!!!!!!

I’m pretty sure I can still hear the angels.

We relaxed a bit until 10am when we made our way over to the Imagination Pavilion.

We rode Figment, and Troy made his very own, modeled after his father, Bob. I don’t see any resemblance.

At about 10:20, we went to ride Nemo! It was SO CUTE!

Omg, I was dying! Troy was eating it up because he loves Finding Nemo. TR TITLE ALERT: At the end, there is a starfish on the wall telling us to “take me with you” and at one point he says, “it’s a nice song, but they won’t stop singing!” HAHAHAHA! We died! I don’t think we had laughed that hard in a while! It was so perfect because it reminded me so much of Troy’s reaction to all of the Disney songs that I have on my iPod. It was hilarious, and it lasted throughout the entire trip!

After the hilarity, we went to see the line for Spaceship Earth, I was assuming it would be scary long, and it was. I knew that it would get shorter throughout the day, so we decided to come back later. We stopped for a bathroom break, and I took pictures of the glorious Spaceship Earth.

Please Try to Contain Your Excitement
June 21, 2013

We made our way to Club Cool because I REALLY wanted Troy to try the Beverly!

We got there and were trying the flavors, and when I went to Italy’s it wasn’t working... but, but, but, but... Wahhhh!!! I was so upset!

Oh, well! Next time!!
It was so crowded in there, so we didn’t stay long. We still had some time to kill before our TT FPs were ready, so we went over to the TT gift shop to look around. We sat on a bench and waited until 11:30 rolled around! Yay!!

We got in line, and I was kind of sad that we wouldn’t get to design a car because I had heard that only the stand-by line gets to, but the doors opened, and we were escorted into the computer room where you design the car! Yay! It was a lot of fun, but we ran out of time! We felt rushed, but our car came out looking so classic and boring! HAHA!

Oh, well! We ended up losing on all tests except for speed! Troy really liked this ride too! We were done by 12pm, so we decided to start World Showcase in Mexico.

We rode the “Mexican Small World” as some call it, and looked around a bit.

I wanted to hurry through because we had an ADR at 2:10, and I was nervous that we wouldn’t get to see all the countries.

We explored Norway and rode the Maelstrom at 12:30.

When the ride was over the ride operator CM was like “there’s a five minute video about Norway after this. Please try to contain your excitement.” HAHAHA OMG, this day is just perfect! I was laughing SO HARD! Troy didn’t really understand, but he was laughing anyway!

We kept on going and stopped in China for a bit. Troy’s sister recently got married to a guy whose father is Chinese, and he is constantly picked on for it. Not to fear, he gives it right back- his personality is one to get used to! Anyway, Troy texted him a picture, and he thought it was pretty funny!

World Showcase Lovin'
June 21, 2013

I really wanted to get something from here for them, but nothing seemed right. It was really fun looking through the shop though! Its so pretty in there!

Next up was Germany!!

The Christmas shop is so pretty!

I believe he was surprised at how much it cost- I think it was around $60!

BEAUTIFUL update, my Emma!!! And I know I'm your mom and all, but lordy you take some gorgeous photos!!!!:love::love::love::love:
