The Cast:

Me, 34 – Disney obsessed, Shopaholic & extremely clumsy!
Lee (DH), 35 – aka the Mad Hatter….

25th September 2009 = Day 18

We woke about 8am this morning, Lee popped down to Captain Cooks for a hot chocolate refill, then we then got showered, dressed and walked over to the Great Ceremonial House for our 10am ADR at Kona Café.

Lee had the Big Kahuna (don’t you just love that name  ) which was French toast, Bacon, Sausage, Ham, two poached eggs, potato wedges & pancakes with pineapple & macadamia nut butter.

I had decided on my breakfast about a year ago! :lmao: I knew I was having Tonga Toast....

P1060492.jpg

The tonga toast was nice but way to big, I struggled to eat half. We also shared a French press pot of Kona coffee and Lee also had a Lilikoi juice – which is a mix of guave, passion fruit & pineapple. I tasted it, it was lovely and bought back childhood memories of Um Bungo. :goodvibes

We paid up (I haven’t noted how much it cost, sorry) and went out to the bus stop, we decided whilst having breakfast that we would head over to Hollywood Studios to try and have one last go on Toy Story Mania. We took a few pics of the entrance to the Poly on route to the bus stop.

We didn’t wait long for the bus but soon as we arrived we realised that everyone appeared to be heading to DHS today, it was absolutely heaving! However as we were there we decided to go in and see what the queue was like anyway, it was showing 90 mins and no fast passes left!!!!

We headed straight back out again and got the boat over to the Swan/Dolphin, we walked through the resort to Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf. We only played one round of mini golf as it was so hot today I thought I was going to melt!

Lee was on fire today, he got 5 hole in one’s within the first 7 holes :faint: and finished with a score of 40 which was 13 under par for the course and 6 less than the current course record. :cool1: I wrote his name up on the board. :) (The guy at the desk said the scores aren’t removed daily so I wonder how long it stayed up there for?)

P1060513.jpg

We walked back through the resort just as a boat was arriving so we jumped on that and got off over at the Yacht & Beach club. We walked over to Beaches & Cream as I really wanted to get a No Way Jose ice cream but it was a 45 minute wait for a table so we decided to just share a mint choc chip scoop from the take away counter which we ate whilst walking to Epcot via International Gateway.

We walked from International Gateway through to the main entrance to get the Monorail back to the TTC and then onto the Poly. It was the first day of the International Food & Wine festival so we picked up a festival guide to read later and help plan our day there. We got back to the room about 4pm and decided to rest my ankle and relax for an hour of two before making our way to MNSSHP tonight!

We chilled out watching tv and reading before freshening up and making our way to the boat dock about 6.30pm, there was a boat already waiting so we jumped on and were soon approaching the Magic Kingdom. :cloud9:

We were surprised at how many people were in costume this evening, much more than when we were there the week before (11th September). We got our wristbands and candy bag before walking up Main Street.

We headed into Tomorrowland, where we walked straight onto Buzz. Lee scored a decent 219,000 compared to my pathetic 33,400! :rotfl2:

We then went on the TTA as I wanted to go through Space Mountain, which was closed for refurbishment. The lights were on inside but it was boarded off so you couldn’t see much.

I was pleased with my photo of Astro Orbitor which I snapped whilst on the TTA, normally they come out a blur! :lmao:

We walked back over towards the castle as the Disney Villains show was going to start soon, whilst waiting we took some pics of the Halloween themed character statues around the hub.

We watched the Disney Villains show on the castle stage, it was ok but not as good as I’d hoped. Afterwards we decided to stay put and wait for the first parade. We stood there for a while, we were next to a woman and her young son who were stood on our right hand side. They were next to a rubbish bin, after a while a cast member came along and told her she would need to move as the CM needed to stand by the bin during the parade. The woman said ok but stayed there when the CM walked off anyway?

Once the cast member returned the woman moved back so the CM could take her position (baring in mind that it was at least ten people deep) which didn’t go down to well as she was shoving everyone who had been waiting ages backwards. She asked me if her little boy could stand in front of me as he wasn’t able to see the parade, I said OK, no problem. Well a while later as the parade appeared in the distance some tall guy appeared from nowhere and stood the other side of me, then the little kid sat on the kerb in front of me which mean’t that our “great spot to take photos of the parade” turned into not so great. After a minute or two the Cast Member that was on my left moved into the road in front of the bin so the woman whose kid was sat in front of me moved forward and stood there taking loads of pictures whilst her kid remained sat on my feet. :headache: I held my camera out at arms length and took a couple of photos at which point the woman said to me “You’re leaning over my kid to take a photo, is it really worth it?” OMG!!!! I was so shocked, I could not believe the cheek of it! I just looked at her and said “Well if your that bothered about it then why don’t you move your kid in front of you now that you’ve got your spot back”, with that she grabbed the poor little kid by the arm & yanked him across the floor. :sad2:

I couldn’t believe how rude she was so I deliberately stood as far forward on the kerb as I could to annoy her. :lmao: The rest of the parade was spent with her huffing and puffing as she couldn’t get the photos she wanted. :teeth: :rolleyes1

Here are a few parade photos:

This one wasn’t supposed to be blurred but I love it as it makes it Spooky & more authentic!

After the parade we walked down to Caseys and got a hot dog each and shared a drink.

IMG_2666.jpg

By the time we finished our hot dog it was almost time for HallowWishes so we waited on Main Street. I absolutely love HalloWishes, it is my favourite fireworks display and as always with Wishes it bought tears to my eyes. :cool2:

IMG_2737.jpg

Afterwards we walked around the castle to FantasyLand, on the way we took a photo of the Mickey's ToonTown sign as it was lit up with a cobweb beamed onto it.

IMG_2818.jpg

I am so glad we walked over to see it as just in front of the sign a cast member was painting characters on the floor using a dustpan full of water and the brush which was bound with string to make a tip. I have never seen this before, it was so clever and its little things like this that makes me love Disney so much. We stood watching for ages as he painted several characters, it was fun trying to guess which character he was doing.

IMG_2803.jpg

IMG_2819.jpg

IMG_2822.jpg

We carried on round to FantasyLand and watched PhilharMagic  then walked across to Haunted Mansion, which I am ashamed to admit was my first time on this ride. :faint: I thought it was fab & looking forward to going on it again in June!

IMG_2829.jpg

It was almost time for park closing but we had time to stop off at Sleepy Hollow for a funnel cake and then we exited the park taking some photos along the way.

We got to the boat dock around 12.20pm just as a boat was arriving, we were soon back at the Poly. Once we got back to the room I had a cold shower to help with my inflamed itchy leg/swollen ankle :headache: whilst Lee popped down to Captain Cooks to get some Hot Chocolates, we both fell asleep about 1.30am. We were very tired but we’d had a wonderful day. :cloud9:

Coming soon: Day 19 = Relaxing, DHS & California Grill.

You're non-stop!!! What about...
Then Lee questioned me about the amount of shopping, so I had to shout at him until he begged for mercy.
AND...
Then Shamu (if that is his name) splashed me so badly that I had to shout at him until his trainer begged for mercy.

Oh and didn't you "'ave a word" at the theatre the other day over tickets...? ;)
:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Sorry about that, I couldn't resist and I've made myself laugh now - never a good thing...
