ISO Townhome in WH w/ themed rooms...suggestions?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi there everyone,

I'm still new on the boards and have posted this on the "family" board. Thought I would try here as well.

We are really looking into a townhome in Windsor Hills, but would like to get at least one "themed" room for our kids. We've been in touch with several owners and have gotten some great rates. The only problem seems to be what house to go with.

Here are some of our top picks thus far...
Story Time
Magic Rentals
Ethan's Little Disney
Mickey's World (dot net)

Any others we need to check out. Any good/bad experiences with any of those mentioned above. I've seen a few posts on Story Time and Magic (most good, but a few with issues), but haven't seen too many on the other properties.

If there are other spots/resorts you'd recommend, please let me know. We don't need a bunch of space (two adults, two toddlers), but at least two bedrooms. A splash pool near the clubhouse would be great, but always up for your recommendations.

Thanks so much for your time and advice!

Best,
Erica

We rented from Storytime in Sept. and LOVED it! We rented Storytime 1, the theming was awesome, the kids kept asking if we could just buy the house and live there forever. The owners were great to work with. We had no problems. I was nervous because we had never rented a home before, we've only stayed in hotels. All the storytime townhomes are very close to the clubhouse/pool. It was about a minute walk for us.

We're booked for Ethan's Little Disney in May. I chose that one because their other properties get good reviews, the townhouse has been recently renovated, and they are managed by Oasis Property Management, which gets high marks.

We stayed at one of the Magic Rentals last year. We liked it. Other than some spots on the carpets, we found the townhouse to be very clean. Any issues we had were minor. A lot of people have complained that the plastic themed wall coverings are coming off the walls. This is true, and they could easily fix that. I don't know why they haven't. However, if Ethan's Little Disney wasn't available I would not have minded staying there again.

we stayed in Mickeysworld.net in Sept 2008 the house was nice and the owners were good to work with also. Had no problems

I am curious which one you decided on...we have been lookint at these as well! It is so overwhelming!

Hey Megan,

After careful consideration, we decided to book with Dave Robinson (vacationcentralflorida). He could beat every other owner's price by more than $100. Plus, I liked having the cleanliness guarantee and he got (mostly) positive reviews. I heard a few folks mention some minor issues, but overall his properties were rated high. We really wanted to do Windsor Hills, as they seem to be one of the "A-list" neighborhoods. WH has a variety of condos, homes and townhomes. We booked the Robinson's new end unit townhome w/ three bedrooms and three baths and a splash pool. I'm really anxious to see some pictures of the place. They just purchased it and they are busy "Disney-fying" the decor :-) The theme was more subdued than we wanted, but the "Disney" is there just in a lower-key. We had great interactions with the folks at StoryTime and one owner we found on the "official" Windsor Hills site. But, at the end of the day, it was a biz decision.

For the $100+ saved we ended up booking one night at the AllStarSports ($81 including tax). This added a day to our trip, gave us parking for two days (check in and check out days) and allowed us to secure two of our dining reservations in advance (prior to the 180 days).

We ended up renting the last week in September for $601 for seven nights. This included all applicable fees, taxes, and the cleaning charge.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I intend to post a full review when I get back. I'm already collecting plenty of notes!

Happy planning and good luck!

Best,
Erica
