I'm attempting to create a Halloween wreath for my front door in the style of the Haunted Mansion Holiday outdoor decorations. Here is a link to the style in case you haven't been to Disneyland during Halloween/Christmas: Haunted Mansion Holiday Wreath.
ISO: Wide Black Ribbon with Vertical White Stripes
I've found a wreath, berries, & greenery no problem at Joann/Michael's, but cannot find wide black ribbon with vertical white stripes anywhere--even went through about 30 Google pages and still nada. The widest I've seen is about 1.5 inches, and I need 3 inches or wider. [also, the stripes on the official Disneyland ribbon are a bit wavy, but I'll take what I can find at this point!]
ISO: Toothy skull head (see photo in link)
All skull/skeletons I've seen are creepy--if anyone can make a skull look sweet, leave it to Disneyland :) Alternatively, a Jack Skellington head would be cute--the Halloween masks are a bit large for this craft. Thinking of decoupaging a Jack head onto a round wood cutout if I get desperate.
ISO: Mini carveable pumpkins.
I swear the craft stores had them last year, but haven't seen them yet this season. Do you think I could paint the pumpkin faces on with orange paint for a similar look?
I've sent a letter to Disneyland begging for their sources, but I'm not holding my breath!
Has anyone seen the ribbon/skull/pumpkins in a chain store or online?
Thank you so much!

I love this! Thanks for posting, I'm in Fl. never been to DL.

I think you could paint the faces on the little pumpkins no problem. In fact if your pumkins are those carvable ones why not carve them a little first then paint on top of the carving for a more three diminsional look?

For Jack I think I've seen Christmas ornaments that were just Jacks head that were about the same size as the big Mickey head ornies they sell at the Xmas shop. That would be perfect. Do an Ebay search.

As for the ribbon can you find plain black in the width you want? Why not paint the stripes on yourself? The stripes on the ribbon in the pic look like they were hand done since they are so wavy and uneven. So you should be able to replicate the same look easily. Just a thought.

Post a pic if you get it done!

Couldn't find the ornies on Ebay but I did find this

A stained glass Jack head lamp. Depending on how big you want your wreath and how much you want to spend this would be so cool. You couldn't put it on a door though it would need to be stationary so as not to break it. Oh well.

They did have Jack head plushes that would probably work for your wreath.

I really want that lamp now:lmao: .

Great idea on ornament for Jack--we're going to DL Oct 9, so I'm hoping the ornament shop will be stocked (not too much there in Aug).
Thank you so much on the painted ribbon idea! Yes, now that I look at Jack, the lines are definitely swirly, not straight! BTW, Disneyland kindly refused my request for ribbon.

Will look for Jack plush since I do plan to put it on the door--thanks! Love that lamp!
Hiya! Wal mart had mini carveable pumpkins yesterday in their food section. Near the produce, but it was really just in a Halloween aisle.

Woo hoo!
just found them yesterday at WM--and only $1 ea! Don't know if they're meant to be carveable, but I could cut in a bit, then add paint as ticktock suggested.
Thank you so much, guys! Getting there! Will post pics.

I just happened on this seller on ebay who has all kinds of Disney stuff. She had this cool Jack ornament (although it may be breakable). I would think they would have it at DL.

But if you are still thinking about a skull, have you tried the party stores near you. My dd and I were at the Christmas Tree Shop tonight and they had all kinds of skulls, etc.

Anyway...here's the link to the Jack ornament
