ISO: FM Transmitter for IPOD with long car adapter cable...any suggestions?

I'd like to start listening to my IPOD in the car. The problem is that my outlets in my van are very low, near the floor. Budget is tight at the moment so I'm looking for something decent that won't break the bank.

Ours plugs into the cigarette lighter and charges at the same time.

My only tip is that if your antenna is in the rear, be sure to get a better transmitter. We paid $35 for ours and it did not work in my husband's car (antenna in back) and works fairly well in mine. I believe it is made by Belk.

Are you referring to the AUX input or the cigarette lighter adapter thingie being close to the floor of the van? Do you have an AUX input or a cassette player, or is the FM transmitter your only option for playing the iPod through the car stereo? I ask because if it's at all possible, the 1st 2 options will sound better than the FM transmitter, but if you live in an area with decent FM reception the difference won't be enormous.

What type of iPod do you have? I know they make car chargers that work for sure with the iPod and more recent generations of iPod Touch (not sure on other models); those have the coiled cords that stretch out so it should be able to reach the CLA if that's what's down close to the floor. There's also something like this, which would work with the existing USB cable (provided you have another way to connect the iPod to the stereo, e.g. AUX input).

Thanks! I am getting the latest Nano for Christmas My cigarette lighter plug is near the floor of my van. My auxillary input is all the way in the 3rd row so that's not an option.

I'll check out the newest coiled cords. We live in the Chicago area so I'm thinking reception shouldn't be a problem.

It is not an FM transmitter, but a charger adapter that has a long cord, so you could plug the transmitter into this. I have one of these and use it to extend things that my kids are charging (ipod, DS, etc) to reach in the second row of seats.
