One I lost and the other one the lady who made it wouldn't share the recipe
The one I lost was for overnight french toast. You make it the night before in a dish, cover it, refrigerate overnight and then bake it in the morning. All I can remember is that it had bread, milk, eggs and cinnamon in it.
The other was from the church I used to attend. The Pastor's wife made this really good apple dumpling type dessert but wouldn't share the recipe. It's not a dumpling like I've ever made though. There was a cinnamon-y and brown sugar tasting sauce on the bottom of an 8 X 8 pan, sliced apples on top of that and then covering that was a biscuit like topping. I think it might have had cinnamon it too. That's all I have to go on with that. She said it was really easy to make, common ingredients and you could freeze right in the pan after you baked it. Any ideas?
Thanks for your help! I'm in the mood to do some baking now that the weather is cooling if off -- at least here it is. And since we picked apples last weekend both crispers in our fridge are full so I need to use those up.
