Islands of Adventure ONLY? OR BOTH Parks for 1 day??

My husband and I are heading to Universal on Thursday. It's just the 2 of us! We definitely want to go to IOA for Harry Potter! We love rides too!
Wondering if we will have enough time and if it's worth the money to ALSO do Universal Studios in the same day. OR should we just get the single park ticket and enjoy IOA & Harry Potter?
Any help is greatly welcomed!
Also, anywhere to buy discount tix? Or just the online universal site?

Sounds like a great spur of the moment trip!

If it was up to me - I would just to go IOA. This assumes that you will need to purchase one day tickets. The extra cost to be able to hop for only 1 day just isn't worth it to me (personal opinion only). Additionally, while I enjoy both Universal parks - IOA is definitely the winner for me and we tend to spend much more time there than the Studios. That being said, if you are big into Despicable Me or Transformers - both of those attractions are relatively new at the Studios and might be worth a look to you.

Whatever you decide - have fun!

As for discount tix - I think your best bet for a discount is AAA if you have it. Barring that, I would just buy at Universal.

make the decision to upgrade your tickets from 1 day 1 park pass to the 1 day park to park ticket once you are in the park.


you would pay the difference between the two costs.


no need to do this until you are in the park and if you have enough time to do the other park.
